movies/tv Stuff you didn't notice in movies as a kid?

It seems like every time I re-watch a movie from my childhood, I pick up on little things that were put in for the benefit of the adults watching that sailed right over my head as a kid. Sometimes there are funny little jokes, and other times it's heavy thematic elements that most kids wouldn't get.

Anyway, I find it really entertaining, so I thought I'd list some of the ones off the top of my head and see if you have any you've noticed :D And I will continue to list more as I think of them

In Hercules, when the two little boys are trapped under the boulder, one of them yells, "Somebody call IX-I-I!", which of course is the roman numeral for 911. (For non-American bronies, 911 is the emergency number to get hold of police / fire rescue / paramedics)

In The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Captain Phoebus' horse is named Achilles. At one point, he commands him, "Achilles, heel!"

In Fern Gully, Batty was used as an animal test subject for the cosmetics industry. I know that was an obvious part of the movie, but a kid doesn't really "get" how awful that is and his wacky rap is just funny. Then you grow up and realize he was tortured in the name of beauty and that that stuff happens for real every single day. O_O

In Toy Story, Buzz says to Woody, "I believe the word you're looking for is space ranger." Woody replies, "The word I'm looking for, I can't say, because there are preschool toys present!"

Those are it for off the top of my head, but I know I have a million more tucked away that of course I can't think of when I'm actually trying to write them down, haha. Let me know if you know of any fun ones :D

Oh oh! I have one! ^^

Remember Finding Nemo? ^^

The part where the pelican flies in and goes crazy in the dentist's office, and the camera shows the people in the lobby looking at the dentist freaking out, there's a Buzz Lightyear sitting in the floor! ^^

How cool is that? :D

You know what else I've noticed in that scene? The kid in the lobby is reading an Incredibles comic!

The world in back to the future can be a dark place when you mess with the past man.

When I was a kid I was an avid Pixar watcher, yet didn't notice a lot of the easter eggs in them (ie Pizza Planet truck, A113) and thought they were just coincidences.

In the new Godzilla. One of the TVs says,"King of the Monsters". The American release of the original Godzilla was called "Godzilla - King of the Monsters".

I should note, this wasn't from my childhood.

"The Secret of NIMH". When I was little I loved the story of a mother mouse saving her family. As an adult, I can't help noticing the the back story of science gone horribly wrong, with the scientists of NIMH desperately trying to hunt down and destroy the intelligent rats they created and inadvertently let escape, before they could reproduce and spread out.

In the movie "Robots", when the father misses unboxing the parts of his son, and misses them being delivered in the mail, his wife cheers him up by saying; "don't worry honey, the funnest part is making the baby", definitely being suggestive. They then precede in assembling the baby.
