movies/tv Star Wars Original Trilogy. Your defining moment of the series

I could make a whole thread dedicated to Star Wars. I think it would turn out to be a novel though

I want to take the time to tell you, I love all three movies and to this day I cannot pick one movie, because all three movies are one movie. But I want to state that out of all the moments that I cherish in the franchise. The scene that defines all of Star Wars for me is this scene.

2:55 is when it starts.

To me I was always on the edge of my seat as a young kid even though I knew the outcome. I have to add the Throne Room award to, because it's just one entity to me and makes me happy.

While it may not be my "defining moment" the scene at the end of Empire where they are looking out of the window of the medical frigate watching the Falcon flying off to save Han is always a favorite.

This moment right here:

Why? Because this is the very moment Luke Skywalker succeeds in becoming a Jedi Knight. This moment is when Luke is given the same choice as his father was given in so very similar circumstances so many years before: At the point of a lightsaber, a Skywalker must choose between light and dark, and it is Sidious presenting that choice. Does Luke strike down the man Sidious says is his enemy and so join the Dark Side as an apprentice, or does Luke decide to help the man at his mercy? Luke chooses the Light Side, and thus this moment becomes the defining moment for the Saga.

I uhhh got yelled at by my dad when I tried to watch his Star Wars vhs when I was a kid. But when I did get to watch them, my favorite moment as a kid was probably when they're running through the Death Star and Luke swings across the chasm holding Leia. I would ruin floss rolls (because that's what it looked like) because I would try and reenact that scene in our basement. Now though, I would probably say that the defining moment is when Luke leaves his training with Yoda to go and save his friends. I feel that that's when he decides what's really important to him

When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move,
your job is to plant yourself like a tree next to the river of truth, and tell the whole world
"No, you move."

Definitely the Luke vs vader light saber battle at the end of rotj. After seeing that at about the age of 8 ( I'm now 26) I have yet to see another Star Wars scene that can live up to it. To be honest I don't think it's the best Star Wars scene of all time it's plain out the best sci fi scene of all time

This is mine too. Even though I've watched it heaps of times it still always gets me in.
