So, it's official! AGT 2014 has already begun! And it has begun with a dose of OMG! A young pianist led off the season and blew everyone away! So, what more do you expect from AGT 2014, and what do you NOT expect to see?

There may be a magician today. We'll see. 

So, the 1st episode has ended. Here are some of the highlights for today

 

1. The Season Starter: This young boy who played piano completely blew me away. In fact, I think my OMG meter exploded! It was phenomenal. And the fact that he pulled a double performance made it even better!

2. The Comedian: This comedian who had a bit of a mental issue was able to pull through nicely. His jokes were solid on and he remained sharp.

And finally...

 

This 93 year old guy who pulled a car with people in it...WITH HIS TEETH!! Seriously! This guy...this guy....is just amazing. If I had the chance to see him once, I would stand tall and proud and say those same 7 words that Celestia said to Twilight when she gained alicorn status "You are an inspiration to us all!"

 

What did you/didn't you like about the Season 9 1st episode?

The little genius kid was amazing on piano! I'm gonna be surprised if he doesn't win. My favorite act though was the "karate" guy that Stern used his golden buzzer on. He was hilarious!

 

Oh, and when Cannon did the whole mime prank.

Watched the karate act on youtube and I'm glad that Howard used the Golden Buzzer. I say "If you can make Howard laugh, then you're worthy to be on the show". I don't get why the two female judges thought it wasn't funny.

I kind of lost my steam with America's Got Talent...I mean, the first 6 seasons all ended with singers winning. IMO, there are enough shows just for singers, and there were really good, creative and unique acts that would have fit better in the Las Vegas atmosphere (e.g. Recycled Percussion from s4, Fighting Gravity from s5, Silhouettes and Team iLuminate from s6 etc). Seriously? It took performing-dogs to finally knock singers from the top-spot??

I think they should convert AGT to a variety talent show, and move all the singers to The Voice, American Idol, and The X-Factor. Then, make a show like X-Factor, but for dancers. They have So You Think You Can Dance, and America's Best Dance Crew, yeah, but one is taking people from their style and making them become versatile, and the other is one genre of dance. But that's me...

I was sooo mad that year those dogs won. William Close should've won. He worked his butt off making those beautiful instruments and he gets beat by some repetitive dancing dogs who do the same thing over and over again.
