3 reasons why Them's fightin herd's is gonna flop

Not to call doom and gloom, but i fear this game is gonna flop, because of 3 reasons.

1. It's a fighting game. If you want to publish a fighting game, you should seriously aim at Console gamers, because not every PC gamer wants to buy a controller and rather play stuff with their Keyboards.

2. The game will cost 40$ and only has 6 or 7 characters. Street Fighter 2 in 1991 had 8 characters in the Arcades and these days, we have fighting games that have 40 or 50 unique characters, so this game dosen't have alot of variety.

3. Only Bronies will care about it and that's not really all bronies, because of the simple fact "it dosen't have ponies in it." And Bronies who do buy it, are just buying it, because it's the closest thing they get to "Fighting is Magic."

Maybe i am wrong. Maybe it will be a huge success. But i simply don't see it.

I added this, because this theme is awesome. :P

EDIT: I was informed that the normal price tag is 20 $. It won't change my general opinion of the games success, but i think maybe it will make it a bit more interesting.

Wait, it's seriously $40?

That's pretty much suicide for almost any Indie dev(unless the game warrants that price). Especially with that laughably small roster

Also Capcom vs SNK 2 ftw

I heard people who participate in the indiegogo, get a price cut. But yeah, that's alot.

I am the Capcom vs SNK 2 champ. :P

$40!? For a game that has  characters. I'm sorry that isn't really worth the price! You can more bang for your buck with the new Mortal Kombat game.

Besides we already have Fighting is Magic (Tribute Edition).

I highly doubt it'll be $40.

It'll be $15-20

Hypno read the featured donor thing rather than the actual cost.

And I'm sure additional characters could be added with dlc {As skullgirls did, having like 8 characters in the beginning, adding 6 as dlc. Costs a tonne of money to make a well detailed character thats actually decent}

As I said before literally just scroll down the kickstarter page past the first part

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/them-s-fightin-herds

15 dollars for the thing now. At the most 20 for people who didn't back it.
40 dollars is triple A territory, which the company wouldn't be stupid enough to charge for xD

(Would be nice to change the second reason to be accurate >.< Since now a tonne of people will be misled into thinking its expensive af)

The page actually says, if it gets a certain goal of money, the game will be for consoles as well.

And their will be new characters and even a storymode later on ( if it reaches all the extra goals ) .

So their is actually more to come...well, if it gets the money that is.

It may not flop per say, but I do think some time after launch its core community will start to dwindle after the horde of bronies hyped about a ponyish game start to leave.

I wouldn't buy it. I couldn't possibly enjoy it. I'd just be thinking "This would be so much better if it were still a pony game" and that'd just be depressing. I don't do depressing.

I would rather have it on my computer :P

Exactly what you said. :3

The funny thing is, once this game is released to the community, how many nano=seconds will it be before folks make a mode that reskins the game to be more like MLP and add the characters too it.

Hasbro can't some modders altering the game because its not their game. XD

It's been fully funded as of today, so I don't think it's going to flop like you said it would! I'm actually rather excited for it myself. ^^

While yes I was into it because I found out it was Mane6 and the "rebrand" of Fighting is Magic, there's also these points to make the game all it's own:

  • Lauren Faust came up with new character designs, as well as the lore/story for the game! While the characters share some design aspects with MLP, all of them have their own unique look.
  • The game will have an entirely unique soundtrack, which is ALSO dynamic, meaning that it'll change with every match. Each playable character has their own variation of the same track, and their version will play if they're dominating the match. They also have their own intros and outros (of course).
  • Back to the lore. The new story for the game is pretty interesting, and each character is getting their own little backstory explaining why they became the chosen ones for the main quest of the game. All of them have likable qualities, but they're by no means perfect, and they're also not copies of the MLP main cast.
  • The game will also have a visual lobby for online play. It's nothing fancy but it's definitely impressive how they also immerse the fighting into the lobby itself.

I think it'll fly as a stand-alone game. Sure maybe a lot of people who aren't into cutesy ungulates will turn their nose up, but from those that have given it a go, even not being bronies, the gameplay seems likable enough to earn players simply for that aspect.

FIrst off, i never doubted it wouldn't be founded. I said that it might flop in terms of sales.

Secondly, what you say is all fine and dandy, but how do i know if the actual gameplay is good? If it plays like street fighter, i can go out and get the better thing, with more characters.

You all act like i am hating on the game, while i am just giving an alternative opinion. Jesus.
