Ron Jeremy 2,032 Posted December 8, 2012 @Urdnot: Well, as much as I enjoy the Gamecube, I'd have to agree with you there, especially as an RPG fan. The PS2 has Dragon Quest VII. <3 But I don't have a bunch of PS2s, so doing this little thing with them wouldn't have been as amusing. @Hylian: Honestly, if you lived near me, I'd have no qualms with giving you a Gamecube. @superponylinux: Rock on. /) 2 Link to comment

ReGen 1,466 Posted December 8, 2012 Ah... The memories I had.... You should play Metroid Prime 2 on those. My favorite game on it. Link to comment
Ron Jeremy 2,032 Posted December 9, 2012 ^I've actually been looking out for the Metroid Prime games. Haven't seen 'em really cheap or anything, though. Link to comment

I remember they had the trilogy for Wii for only $50, i misssed my chance, now that game is expensive as heck... of course if you want traditional control then you go with the original GameCube version 1 Link to comment
Radiance64 7,053 Posted December 9, 2012 Yep, those are Gamecubes alright. Tape two of 'em together and you just might have a working Wii! 2 Link to comment

Swit Swat 536 Posted December 9, 2012 I never owned a Gamecube, but I love it nonetheless. My favorite GC game is Paper Mario TTYD. 1 Link to comment
Ron Jeremy 2,032 Posted December 9, 2012 @SBB64: Why would I do that when I already have a working Wii? @SBB64: Why would I do that when I already have a working Wii? @Twiliscael: Well, while they aren't made any more, that doesn't keep you from playing it, right? :3 @S.S. Beatle Brony: Believe it or not, I've never played a single Paper Mario game. :/ I SHOULD change that, but currently I'm putting the little money I get these days towards a Wii U. 2 Link to comment
HomuraBL 851 Posted December 9, 2012 @Chainsaw don't get sticker star if you are getting a paper mario game. :/ Link to comment

Colon Leftbracket 971 Posted December 9, 2012 @, Actually Urdnot, despite me being a bit GameCube Crazy right now, I'd have to say you are completely correct! I will always prefer GameCube on a personal level, but it is clear that the PS2 is the superior system. The Playstation 2 library is probably the greatest library in gaming (its pretty close with SNES, but I think PS2 just barely beats it). And if your PS2 is backwards compatible, (I think most are but Sony has a Slim obsession that normally nixes this) then you have another GREAT library of access. The PS2 I'd say is probably the best console overall. (I'd award that to PS3, if its original models with FULL BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY were easier and cheaper to find) Probably after I finish my GameCube restoration quest, the PS2 will probably be next since there are some great PS2 and PSOne games I've loved in my childhood. I need to own the Persona series, Dragon Quest VII, and FFIX asap! lol Link to comment

If you can buy the original on Virtual Console, I'd recommend that one first. There really is not chronology to them, but still its always nice to start with the series origins. Thousand Year Door for GCN is the best imo. And hey you have multiple consoles to play it on! Super Paper Mario is kinda the black sheep of the series since it has no turn based combat, though that may be a plus for some people. I think I'd actually prefer it more, if the platforming felt a bit more inspired. @Chainsaw don't get sticker star if you are getting a paper mario game. :/ I haven't played it yet, but I've seen quite a bit of gameplay of it. It definitely looks pretty meh. From what I hear the developers decided to abandon story or at least not make it a focal point, which really brings it back to N64 Paper Mario when I think of it, though I hear its even much worse than that! Ron Jeremy 2,032 Posted December 9, 2012 ^Well, I'd much rather buy a physical cartridge, honestly. Tangibility and such. I'm a massive hoarder when it comes to video games. This blog post, for example. 1 Link to comment
