The fact that it's a spin off is a good thing. The actual show will remain in production (it's been confirmed that season 4 will have 26 episodes), and you can just ignore the spin off.

I actually would have loved to see the mane 6 in a high school environment...but as ponies, not as humans. The fact that they are humans is what just completely ruins it for me.

Some people might watch the spin-off, and then decide to give the original a go, and like it. Where as before maybe they never would've gotten into it. Thinking of it that way, it's just all the more fans for FiM, spin-off aside.

I'm actually more alarmed by the fact that "PONIEZZ IN HI SKOOL" was the best idea they could think of. I mean, seriously? That's like Fanfiction 101 and they're making a whole spinoff out of it. With, if that "screenshot" is legit, some remarkably uninspired art and character designs.
