23 year anniversery of worst hockey injury

Did he died?

apartly he lived after only 2 weeks he went back to playing (i went and read up about it after seeing the clip). But two people suffer heart attacks from the site of this injurie.

The first guy pushed the goalie down by accident, then the second guy went over him with his ice skates by accident and unfortunately, it was his neck.

Ouch! That must of been terrible...

Yh i cut into the arterie in his neck thats why there was so much blood so quickly

Both I and Devin know fully well what happened here as we are both big NHL fans.

That was one brutal injury.

Yowch..... glad he was ok after that kind of injury. that's gotta be extremely painful.

More hockey accidents...

I've lost well, it's dead and back in my head, but i lost a tooth playing hockey

I also heard about a guy who was in a coma for a couple of days after being hit in the head

Anypony else find it weird that right after such a horrible injury, we got a jingle for a Buick?

I remembered watching this several years ago on SportsCenter. It was absolutely gruesome and terrifying. The shocking part of this story wasn't just how Malarchuk managed to survived, but the fact that he was able to return to the ice later that season, too.

This is really horrifying, but the one that's more horrifying to me is the....never mind, I'm not talking about it, it's too much to talk about here

I watched the video several times, and I can tell you with utmost certainty that neither of the guys we DO see goes over the goalie. Ever.

His UPPER body is clearly thrown AWAY from the two other players, and his neck impacts on the goal cage (or whatever it's called).

 

That being said, his neck DID seem to be bleeding, but it definitely wasn't one of the two players we see impacting him.

It may have been the goal cage's upper frame; but why should they make them sharp, it's useless and dangerous. Unless a fourth player went over him offscreen; but I don't see anyone, in the preceding wide-angle view, who'd be coming in too close and fast.

I would have had a seizure if I that happened to me. Lil' old Fire Streak twitching on the ground, neck pouring out blood "like a bucket", and soiling myself. Sounds like fun

Ironically the exact same think happened to Zednik a few years ago during, once again in Buffalo. Maybe Buffalo is cursed or something.
