  1. I suppose I worded it wrongly when I said every recorded event. It would be more accurate to say a lot of the events recorded in the bible. Like I said, I have no reason to doubt his existence, but his existence as the son of God and his miracles are something I do doubt. It's just as possible Jesus had medical knowledge beyond what was available in the holy land, and people perceived them as miracles in their individual writings due to their lack of understanding. Even now, we often call good things we don't understand as miracles when they may very well be things that can be explained by science. I'm just curious about which other historical sources mention the flood, especially when there's a lot of debate over when the event took place to begin with. Personally, I think history and their details are relevant to our lifestyle, but what's important is how we deal with the history and other people's interpretations of them. Disagreements are bound to happen but what's even more important is not letting these disagreements get in the way of building trust and tolerance of other people. Hence why I said I'd be inclined to say yes to the question of his existence. There's even evidence (however questionable) that Jesus studied at a Buddhist temple in India during his "lost years."
  2. I'm just curious about what symptoms you were having since "feeling sick" could mean a number of things. That you mention your brother makes me think maybe you got a sunburn around the same time your brother infected you with something else. It could also be as they above said and you felt heat exhaustion along with the sunburns.
  3. I kind of agree and disagree with this. I'll start with what I disagree so that at least this post will end in a positive note What I don't agree with is that there's evidence that everything in the bible is true. For one thing, every recorded event in the bible cannot be found in any other historical record. Scholars even debate the existence of Jesus for that matter so that is also a matter of belief. That being said, if you were to ask me if I believe Jesus existed, I would be inclined to say yes. Whether he's the son of God is a different thing, however. What I do agree with, on the other hand, is that the bible, like most other religious texts, have a lot to teach in the way of morality. The bible does have a lot of contradictions in that regard as well, true. Good examples of that are how to deal with criminals and what defines criminality to begin with, and a lot of that really showcases the societal norms of the times in which the original authors lived. Adultery being punishable by death back then would merely lead to a divorce now (in certain places anyways). Homosexuality being considered absolutely wrong is another one of those but I'm not gonna get into that as it's a discussion all by itself. But that's no reason to throw away everything else, as you say. Having respect for all people, regardless of alignment, to love everyone and trust them unconditionally, those are all ideals presented in many religions. On the one hand, that implies you don't necessarily need religion to learn basic moral principles, but on the other hand it also shows that you can learn basic moral principles from them just as you could anywhere else. I'm agnostic btw
  4. I would hope I woke up as a Pegasus, tho new wings and completely new body would take some time getting used to as well as the new world I'm in. Being able to settle down and find out exactly what I can do in this world would all be things I need to take consideration of. One thing I know for certain is that I would sure as well love being able to fly at will and being in control in the skies.

  6. Why not both? It's not like her career option to join the wonderbolts would ever interfere with her potential romantic life in any way. The only thing that might entail is for her and her special somepony to move to Canterlot, and that seems rather simple in the world of Equestria compared to moving to a different city irl. You might be thinking about the choice between her friends and the shadowbolts back in ep 2. If it had been the wonderbolts instead, I doubt her decision to decline their offer would've changed and she would've still chosen her friends. To me, this shows that if she had to choose either between friends or wonderbolts, she'd choose her friends. Let alone somepony she loves. IMHO.
  7. That's pretty much true for any of the mane six. In fact it's true for just about anyone irl for that matter. It's a matter of getting to know her first before taking any further steps. And yeah, she would be the jealous type given her nature to seek acknowledgement from others, which may be what encouraged her to be the best flier in Equestria. Should she feel like she's not getting as much attention as others, that could be an issue. That being said, tho, I don't see her going full on yandere, if you know what I mean. I can totally see Fluttershy going there tho
  8. This is something I specifically wanted to address, as I don't believe there's a gender imbalance in Equestria. It is simply a matter that considering the main characters of the show are.....well.......mares i.e. femailes, they would be much more involved in the female spectrum of equestria's society than the male spectrum. Thus the audience is exposed to that side of the Equestria a lot more. Secondly, think about the type of roles male ponies fulfill. Generally, it's the more hands-on tasks like farming, manufacturing, etc. Of special note is that every soldier pony seen to this day is a stallion (or at least the vast majority if I'm wrong about all of them being male) which should be a strong indication. How that relates to background ponies is simple. The sort of tasks ponies fulfill in the town/city would be the less physically exhausting ones, but if you notice in certain episodes featuring celebrations of one kind or another, there's a lot more balance in the mare:stallion ratio.

Well, I could be wrong, but in a WROL scenario, I kinda have my doubts about the UK. Considering how much order there is in the UK, if SHTF, I find it surprisingly (and scaringly) easy to imagine that order would break down really easily as people wouldn't know what to do in a situation where nothing is as they know it. The only real upside to it is that firearms are prohibited to everyone, so murder rates wouldn't rise as fast as they would in various other places. I'd rather be in Australia in such a scenario. In terms of a zombie apocalypse, like with natural distasters, I honestly doubt it would make a whole load of difference where you go. Traditional zombies can always be outrun, so it'll be more of a battle of survival, and order would fall apart naturally as people do whatever they must to survive. What I said above somewhat applies here too then. And lost already explained the natural disaster scenario
  10. Well, I think considering the kind of morality the ponies of Equestria live by, I think it's pretty safe to say that just about everypony is loyal to their special somepony. As far as Rainbow Dash is concerned, Everything in the OP is more or less true. Given that her defining trait is loyalty, we can be fairly certain that she would be fiercely loyal to her special somepony. Whether or not that would lead to a stable relationship is another matter. No cheating definitely gives reassurance, but there's a lot of other factors to consider. EarthbendingProdigy brought up a good point about Dashie's emotional barricade and putting on a tough façade in front of others so that she wouldn't appear uncool in front of them, but if you manage to press all the right buttons and become close to her, she'll reveal a soft side to her that I can't help but find really cute >.>
  11. Some schools are massive in the sense there are different schools for different age groups. I'd wager that the high school in Equestria Girls is merely the high school division of a much bigger school which also includes lower and middle schools. I haven't seen Equestria Girls (yet) so do forgive me if my guess is completely off, but it would explain the presence of the CMC.

  13. I would be on the light side, altho I'd be best described as a gray Jedi much like Kyle Katarn. I don't agree with the dogmatic rules the old Jedi Order lived by as it's virtually impossible to be emotionless.
  14. Awesome troll thread is awesome. Tho I always thought Celestia would've had a thing with Starswirl. If you know what I mean ;33
  15. Gnomes are scary. They're really scary. They must be stopped with fire v_v
  16. I have various favorites on utube. The first one that comes to mind is Nigahiga. His sense of humor is simply the best one I've seen among utubers. It's random as hell, but that's why he's hilarious xD www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7Lrwe6wwig
  17. Guys are pretty obsessed with their phones too. Just sayin' As most people already said, it's mainly cuz people like to keep up with social networks or their friends. For some, keeping up with facebook is a way to keep up with what their friends have been up to as well. But on the other hand, it is unhealthy to watch your phone almost all day, and nothing beats direct contact with other people.
  18. Well, my mom and grandma knows, not sure about my dad although I did leave strong hints of it on various FB updates that he should be able to see but never actually mentioned anything about it. He'll prolly do something drastic if he knew xD
  19. Megaman X. That game will forever remain my favorite. Egoraptor explains it pretty well. I'm amazed at the number of people who underestimate this. As a franchise, it kinda lost its edge especially after MMX5, but the first one is simply unrivalled to me.
  20. Well, I lived in Saudi for a good while as a kid and I actually liked the fact that it was basically summer all year round. Mainly because I don't much like the winter (ironic cuz I was born in winter xD). Tho I agree that there needs to be a balance of the four seasons.
  21. Milk and cereal here. I rarely drink joice at all, nvm drinking it for breakfast every morning. I should prolly take more of that tho v_v
  22. I'm against the death penalty and I don't tend to support the military as other people would. And I like Metal Gear Rising. A lot.
  23. I only play survival mode so my options are very limited in that regard, although I wouldn't personally find a great deal of enjoyment playing creative mode. I like to play when there's a certain risk despite how rage inducing it can be. I'd like to play more on multiplayer except the group of people I usually find myself with don't even know the word "cooperation" exists.
