  1. This is exactly how I felt in May 2012. At first I was rather hesitant to watch it, what with it being a children's show but at the continued insistance of an old friend, I decided to give it a shot. And from episode 1 onwards, I felt nothing but love and joy from watching it <3 Each episode teaching something new about friendship and morality was something absolutely refreshing.
  2. I think it's merely a rank granted to her due to her exceptional skill and accomplishment throughout her time in Ponyville. It doesn't bear the same significance as it does with Celestia and Cadence in that they have their own kingdoms. Plus, it's already been confirmed Twilight isn't going to outlive the rest of her friends so thusfar, she's the only princess who isn't immortal (Cadence also being debatable).
  3. I can't say I'm part of any community, but obviously I'm into MLP along with a number of manga (albeit none in particular). The only thing I can say with certainty I'm into more than MLP is Avatar :33
  4. Definitely what OP mentioned. I remember watching the movie years ago, and it was the first time I shed rivers of tears at the end of any movie. I've yet to read the book so please forgive me, but I cried through half the movie "Life of Pi." The sense of loneliness, his relationship to the tiger and how the two of them basically grew dependent on each other to survive after the shipwreck, and especially when the two of them were separated, it was as if watching Pi losing half of his very existence at that very moment. And Iroh's tale in "The Tales of Ba Sing Se" still makes me cry. When he sings the song to a child in the street, and then sings THE SAME SONG on his son's grave which he couldn't possibly have been able to visit for so many years seeing as it was in the Earth Kingdom......I couldn't imagine how much pain it must've been for him not to be able to honor his dead son for so long and manage to do so after seeking refuge in the city he once tried to conquer. There's so much going on in those 10 minutes that just thinking about it almost makes me cry T_T
  5. I really like it as well. One thing to remember is that this is a children's show, and I believe ideally, you'd want kids to learn from very young that even the most evil sort of people can be redeemed if you give them the right reasons. That was the purpose of Discord's redemption. Even as early as the opening episodes, we're given that message when Luna is brought back to her sister's side (and becomes more awesome than her sister to boot). On a side note, what I'd like to see in the show is a good character going bad. The comics (which btw I haven't read) seem to take that direction somewhat but I won't mention more than that in case others haven't been spoiled as much as me, but that's not been touched in the show, and I'd certainly like to see something like that happening.
  6. 1) Favorite MLP episode(s)? I'll have to get back to you on that one actually, tho I'm sure there are quite a few for this. Ones that I can mention from memory are The Cutie Mark Chronicles and definitely Winter Wrap Up. 2) How often do you go back to watch the show? So far, I've ran through it three times and currently going through a fourth run (I know, I'm crazy like that xD). The only series I've watched even more than MLP is Avatar: TLA 3) Do you do it in groups of episodes, a single, or marathon an entire season in one go? I run through an ep or two a day, depending on how much time I have to spare for them really. I varies quite a lot. I don't actually set a goal for how many eps I wanna watch at any given time. 4) Favorite season? Season 2. Discord. This day Aria. 'Nuff said.
  7. My favorite is still Twilight. Her evolution throughout the series is what I really like about her the most. How she goes from the self-absorbed student who thinks she knows everything to a very humble, wise and incredibly supportive lead is the reason why I find her the best of them. Very close to her is Rainbow Dash for similar reasons, for despite her outward arrogance, there's a really soft side to her and she's definitely showed to have learned to differentiate between what's right and wrong.
  8. 1. What grade did you learn to type in? And have you ever used an ordinary typewriter, whether it was electric or manual? I've been in various schooling systems so it's hard to tell exactly which grade I first learned to type. I would estimate around 6th or 7th grade was when I first started typing. I was never big on type-writers in the first place. It wasn't until I started the IB (rough equivalent of High School in the US) that I started to learn how to type fast enough. What made it doubly-hard was that I was using French keyboards and the number buttons on top of the letters required me to use the shift key. The number pad was something I avoided back then for no reason at all '_' 2. What was your first home video game system and what year did you get it? SNES, and Super Mario Kart was the first game I played on it :33 That said, Megaman X will always remain my favorite game apart from Minecraft <3 3. What is the oldest car, make and model year, you can remember your family owning? Opel Corsa. That car was older than me. Sadly, it has been put to rest. I will miss you, dear friend :*( 4. Did you ever have first generation My Little Ponies or Transformers? If so, when did you get them? I never had either of them. Neither really got my interest at the time. 5. Who was the earliest president, prime minister, governor, head honcho, etc. of your country that you have a first hand memory of? In the US, it would be Bill Clinton, namely because I moved there during his presidency. In Italy, the earliest politician I remember is Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, who'd been president of Italy during my childhood. 6. Do you recall smoking being allowed in workplaces where you live? US members under 20 will generally say no but answers from other countries may vary. Yes, actually. The high school my grandmother used to work had a cleaner/prefect who would smoke quite a lot in the office. I still remember the smell of that place -_- 7. Did you ever use old-style roller skates instead of roller blades? I don't skate xD 8. Did you ever use a pre-Windows PC? Not that I recall. 9. Remember “Be kind, please rewind”? No :/ 10. Name the first big blockbuster movie you recall watching in a theater that wasn't a re-release. ...I can't remember this either T_T
  9. It doesn't bother me a great deal. I'll just point out the mistake if it's on official papers, documents and the likes. Which name is misspelt depends on who is spelling them. My last name causes difficulty in Italy whereas my first name has been subject to all kinds of misspells in English-speaking countries xD
  10. You, sir. Black Sabbath is godly.

  11. This game is interesting! I will play. I think it's necessary to have her on the team because her high flying skills, super speed, the power of the Sonic Rainboom are quintessential to the quest to save the world. Plus, she has the charisma and tenacity that makes everything that much more doable. Unlike a lot of other fans, I do like Shining Armor. Similarly to his sister, he has a lot of magical talent, sans Twilight's ingenuity. His ability to cast a barrier powerful enough to protect all of Canterlot is sure to come in handy, and being captain of the royal guard would also mean he has experience in defense and strategy, which will be extremely useful for saving the world. Out of the crusaders, I have a bit of a soft spot for her due to her caring nature. Her magical talent might also be put to good use. There aren't a lot of stallions in this series so there's not a lot to go on. I would almost choose Shining Armor for his magical ability, but I already got him. So I would have to go with Big Mac. His strength and endurance are some of the best seen in the entire show, and they would also be of great use in the world quest. He also showed a lot of dedication and loyalty. It's pretty safe to say he would be more than happy to embark on a mission if it means protecting his family. Because why the hell not!!!! I'm not sure what is meant by this. Is this still limited to the MLPverse? If so, then I would choose Chief Thunderhooves. Like Big Mac, his speed, strength and endurance will also come into play.
  12. Christopher Lee. He's always been a favorite of mine. There's also Christopher Waltz, Morgan Freeman and of course, James Earl Jones.
  13. After throwing countless hints throughout the entire series only to crown her in a rushed episode that could've been made a two-parter easily, I would be more upset with her losing her princesshood than her obtaining it in what felt like a day, maybe two, in the most recent episode. I prefer that she stay a princess now that they made it clear she'll be one for good. I have no doubt she'll fit into her role, and if she's going to be the princess of Ponyville, there's literally not a lot that's going to change in terms of her relationship with the other mane 6.
  14. Take it this way: the only reason they're bothering people online is because they're unable to do anything irl. Most likely, those are the kind of people who live by themselves, where lock themselves up in a room and troll on one forum or another pretty much defines their social life. Don't let it get to you. Ragequitting only spells out their victory.
  15. Don't forget the terribad ending of Assassin's Creed 3 Perhaps. This might be her actual, biggest test yet, but you should also consider Celestia herself said she and all her friends are as much students of Twilight as Twilight is Celestia's student. It's a reciprocal relationship now rather than a one-sided teacher-student relationship Celestia and Twilight had when the latter was still a unicorn.

    N/A

My time for 1500m to date is 4 minutes and a half approx, and I train just about every day for about two hours, so I'd consider myself quite athletic.
  17. I'd go with Pegasus. Magic has never really been my thing and when it comes to athletic events, I've always been really competitive. I love speed as well as being able to endure long distances, and what better way to do that than with wings of my own? One thing that's interesting is that I'm not very keen on flying, but I'd say that's mainly to do with the fact I'm not in complete control of the plane. Having wings would (obviously) compensate, and I'd be able to go virtually anywhere I want at a whim :33
  18. I wouldn't mind seeing an Alicorn colt in all honesty. In fact, it's boggled me that the Alicorns can apparently only be mares (not trying to be sexist here xD). On the other hand, I'm also ok with the idea of the show not introducing any more Alicorns seeing as we already have 4. That's plenty for me.
  19. This. I used to be against the idea of a permanent Twilight until I watched the episode MMC. I didn't like the idea of such a huge change in the dynamic of the main characters and likely the side characters as well, what with Twilight being a Princess now. However, despite how rushed the episode appeared to be, it was amazingly well-written. The pacing is really the only thing I can complain about but I do have faith the writers will be abel to pull off a new story/stories with the princess quite well. Good point. I'm not sure what to think about Equestria girls but I may well try it out to see what it's like, but considering I felt the same way about FiM before someone suggested it to me, being open to the idea of human ponies isn't a bad thing.
  20. Personally, I've always thought of season 3 as a bit of an extra while we wait for the bigger things in season 4 to start happening, and season 3 is simply setting us up for that. Perhaps a new villain will appear and the regal sisters need another princess to help them in anticipation of his/her arrival before things return to normal again. I never really thought of season 3 as part of the main storyline in the way seasons 1 and 2 have been, so I'm rather optimistic about that at least. And the writers have always done really well even in the harsher times, like the Canterlot Wedding as someone here mentioned. Even I think that's one of the best episodes in the series.
  21. Too true! How rude of me xD I am Freedan, from Italy but living in the UK :33 Thanks a lot for the help offer ^.^
  22. From what I heard, and I could be wrong, that pic is just for the movie and nothing really worth getting too concerned over. I doubt it'll ever cross paths with the series' main storyline. As far as Alicorn Twilight goes, I wouldn't be able to approve it on a permanent basis. Even tho it's been established Twilight's character won't be subject to any changes, I'm concerned about what her status as a princess will mean for her relationship with the other members of the mane 6 seeing as the responsibilities that come with being a princess are immense. Also, Twilight becoming a princess would somehow imply she's learned all she could about friendship, which could either open a lot more possibilities for the show or kill it. I'm confident of the former tho as the writers have rarely if ever failed to deliver. Maybe I don't play games a great deal but I haven't really seen a lot of instances where the gaming industry follows its audience closely. EA certainly has a rep for doing whatever it wants, and Ubisoft has been a sour disappointment with Assassin's Creed as well.
  23. I just registered here so I'm getting used to the whole way the forums are set up. I started MLP a while back after someone suggested it to me and I've really liked watching it since. Other than that, I'm also a fan of the Avatar series and watch a few anime as well. See you all around ^.^
