    Sorry to get involved in something I swear I wouldn't but...all I have been hearing lately that god is a lie and everything...and it just makes me want to question those people like "Where do we go? We have to go somehwere..." I'm a little confused. Any spiritual help?

      Christianity was invented around the supposed death of Jesus, at the start of Anno Domini. So, no, Christianity is not the longest running religion. Although, Jesus was not fabricated during the Middle Ages, that is for sure. If he was at all fabricated, that was well before then.

       

      As for the status, that is something for you to decide. There is no proof for or against the entirety of religion.

      You shouldn't be sorry! Maybe consciousness is purely physical, and when you die, your body simply decays and returns to the earth.

       

      Religion can be used to manipulate people, but it doesn't have to, and shouldn't be the sole reason one doesn't believe in one.
