  1. Every world has the potential for great kindness and cruelty. Even though Equestria closer represents an idealized unity among citizens, it is their choice to maintain that harmony. Just like this world, the inhabitants must bring about the change they seek. That being said, nothing pulls me more in one direction than the other. My bonds in this world are evident, but lack depth to me. I have good family and friends, but if I'd be fine never seeing them again. As bad as that may sound, I'm at peace anywhere. I'd certainly enjoy forging a meaningful bond (maybe with somepony here), but until then, the only real factor keeping me is technology. I love gleaning into new worlds, appreciating new possible outcomes, and empathizing with characters in shows. Everypony has different experiences and values which make them unique. It's perfectly understandable to choose ponies over humans if they bring you greater joy. The only point in life is to be happy. Just because people have potential to be great, doesn't mean you have to rely on them. The title "parent" or "sibling" doesn't warrant automatic affection either- personal experience dictates such feelings. Also, the premise of traveling to Equestria means the ponies are living creatures that you can interact with as any other human here. Therefore, nopony should argue that mlp characters would be static molds that become monotonous in "10 SECONDS FLAT". Furthermore, this is a fantasy question. Stressing the point that the characters are fictional is not only invalid for aforementioned reasons, but essentially rejects the question.
  2. Star Swirl strictly followed the path of a scholar to its final conclusion. His unfinished masterpiece (From one to another, another to one. A mark of one's destiny, singled out alone, fulfilled) represents his approach to life. To reach one's full potential, he believed isolation and training held the key. As his verse describes a solitary journey of accumulation, Star Swirl gained knowledge for his own sake. This granted him a wealth of knowledge about magic spells, but little about the magic born through bonds with others. Just how Star Swirl represents the culmination of only seeking knowledge, Twilight reveals an alternative answer. As a pony who began following a similar path, Twilight would have reached a similar ending; however, the guidance of her friends and Princess Celestia sparked a change of heart. After experiencing the magic of friendship, Twilight continued magical studies while forging ever deepening bonds with her friends. Thus, giving birth to a new answer that Star Swirl couldn't conceive. "From all of us together, together we're friends. With the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end". Sharing their lives with one another has intertwined their fates- giving birth to magic that grows without limit: friendship. Star Swirl attempted to create an ultimate magic with the answer found at his journey's end. Since he aimed to answer how to lead a fulfilling life and fulfill your destiny, the spell sets you on the path he followed. Singled out alone to focus on your goal without distraction. This made the Elements of Harmony a prime target since it symbolizes the unison of different elements/ponies to achieve something none could accomplish alone. While only the five pillars of the Elements of Harmony had cutie marks swapped, the citizens of Ponyville were emotionally separated and argued with one another. Twilight found her answer, which "A True, True Friend" embodies well. That connection between everypony is what makes Equestria such a magical place. It's what brings about that elusive sixth element.
  3. A beautiful philosophy. If I ever regain interest in another that way, I hope to say the same. That being said, I'm asexual. Given my mentality, I'm very likely to remain this way. The only reason that's not definitive is because I never want to rule out a possibility (regardless of it's chances). Many of my friends have confided their secret sexuality to me- which I always meet with a casual, "Ok". That fact about them has nothing to do with how I see them.
  4. Many details went over my head during the first viewing of this episode, but it still captured me with the great musicals and overall plot. With all the experiences and lessons gained from her time in Ponyville, Twilight has proven herself a worthy and deserving leader. Just like Twilight's element of harmony, the presence of her friends enabled her growth. Initially, Twilight's transformation made me pause a while before processing the change. Once it hit me though, I loved the symbolism and possibilities it brought into play. After a second watch, I was moved more than ever before. Star Swirl's incomplete spell (From one to another, another to one. A mark of one's destiny, singled out alone, fulfilled) and Twilight's masterstroke (From all of us together, together we're friends. With the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end) reflect their respective outlooks on life. Star Swirl strictly followed the path of a scholar to the very end (just as Twilight would have done without Celestia's guidance). As a talented unicorn who created over 200 spells, Star Swirl's solitary quest of self-contemplation gave birth to that incomplete spell (correlating to an incomplete life). On the other hoof, Twilight's experiences granted her the perspective that Star Swirl lacked. The bond she shares with her friends are invaluable. Thus, their destinies are forever intertwined- giving birth to the endlessly growing magic of friendship. This poetic connection brought further life into Twilight's coronation- and the series as a whole. Should the writers continue such great work, nopony should have any worries about season 4.
  5. Thanks for the warm reception everypony! I originally planned to respond to each pony individually, but MultiQuoting at this point would be excessive, even for me I'll respond quicker in time, but this should work for now. @Dawn Rider: I'm glad to now be a part of this wonderful community! Thanks for offering your help while I adjust. I'll definitely go to you for advice, but hopefully more for casual conversation. ( Brohoof back at you @SkeletonPinata: Thanks, n00b buddy! Hope to see you around. @Rainblow Hash: Excellent suggestion! I'll definitely learn my way around the forums and search for my special talent. Looking forward to a long stay with you all, Hash. @Awesomeface: Glad we both found our way here This community is the best I've seen. @Happy Plant: Thanks! I'll definitely pass by soon See you there. @Meteorite: Thanks. And based on everypony I've met so far, I know you're right! BROHOOF /)
  6. It's been a while since I joined a forum community, so please take care of me as I adjust. Looking forward to meeting you all. I became a brony just this week. After marathoning a season a day and replaying all the great songs, how could I not join the herd? I was looking for a new series to start when I happened upon mlp. The theme of the show was clear from the get-go, and that's why I watched it! I'm an accepting pony who's easy to get along with once I start talking. Until I get my cutie mark, discussion is about all I can do, so look out for the long -potentially rambling- posts and theories I may make.
