    1. Sugar Pea

      Sugar Pea

That's when the people in society are given the ultimate choice to rise above that conformity. The world is going to be full of order, and labels that set us apart from each other. That's how it is, but no one said we had to. :)

  12. (((Seems like that'd be a bit hot. ))) "So, since Hoppip Can't battle underwater, I guess I have to get it's attention myself?" Bethanne questioned, to nobody in particular. She bent over, untying and taking off her shoes, followed by her socks. She rolled up the legs of her pants to above knee height, then waded into the water towards the shell. When she reached it, she peered at it, slightly scared and nervous about what to do. @, @@AnonBrony, "Should I kick it, or something?" She called back, a bit too loudly....
  13. @@AnonBrony "I noticed the lake earlier too." Bethanne motioned towards it with one of her hands, while keeping a grip on Hoppip with the other. "There's a shell at the bottom that got my attention. Cedric and Hoppip seem to think we can take it, but I'm not so sure." "Hoppip!" The pokemon broke free from it's trainer's arm, and began to float towards the lake. "Hoppip!" Bethanne exclaimed, chasing after the pokemon.
  14. @@Ampharos Bethanne looked around at the pokemon in the route as she listened to Cedric's Question. "Not really," She replied, shaking her head. "I don't see any that I'd like to have just yet." "Though, to be honest, that orange-brown shell in the lake over there caught my eye at first, but I have neither the tools nor the pokemon to find out what it is." "Pip, Hop Hoppip!!" The hoppip cried, puffing itself out to make it seem bigger. "I appreciate your enthusiasm, Hoppip, but you know we can't. At least not yet." "Hoppip??" Her pokemon stopped what it was doing and floated up to Bethanne's eye level, a noticeable sadness in it's yellow eyes. "I know, Hoppip." She reached out, grabbing Hoppip out of the air and holding it in her arms, petting it's head. "Hoppip really wants me to catch another pokemon soon, so it can have a friend to play with." She explained to Cedric.
  15. @@Ampharos "Nice to meet you, Cedric." @@AnonBrony Hoppip squirmed in his trainer's arms as the Petilil approached, breaking free and floating down to it's level. "Hoppip?" The pokemon quizzically cried, circling the Petilil. Bethanne turned to the approaching trainer and pokemon. "Hello, Alex.... I don't know if you heard earlier, but my name's Bethanne." She bent down to the two pokemon in front of her, her sight on the Petilil. "I can't tell you how jealous I am that you have a Petilil. Their leaves have special healing powers when eaten, and they grow back very quickly." She stood back up, watching as Cedric put a band on his pokemon. 'That's not a bad idea. Not only does it show unity to other trainers, but it will also help the pokemon themselves to feel as one.' "So do you have a second pokemon like Cedric does, Alex?"
  16. @@Ampharos, "Pip, hoppip hop!" The pokemon cried, slightly annoyed that its foot had been grabbed. It wriggled its foot, desperately trying to loose itself from the boy's grasp. Bethanne walked up to the boy in front of her, her excitement slowly turning into slight nervousness. "Oh, um... Thanks. I didn't really lose him, I just.... I mean, he just tends to travel ahead of me." She tried to hold eye contact as little as possible, letting her eyes wander to look at the other pokemon in the area. She shuffled her feet slightly, and turned to look at the boy. "But thanks for grabbing him. I was too far behind to do anything if the wind had picked up." She reached for the pokemon, gently taking it out of the boy's hand. "Hoppip!" The pokemon called, wishing to eagerly resume it's drifting on the wind. Bethanne held on tightly, not wanting the pokemon to fly away again. "I'm, uh... I'm Bethanne, by the way. This is Hoppip." "Hoppip!" The pokemon said, jovially, as if to confirm it's owner.
  17. (((D: I go to work and come back to a lot of posts!!! I have my work cut out for me if I wanna keep up!))) "Thank you, Professor Map.." Bethanne began, before realizing the Professor was too engrossed in his work to hear her clearly. She turned and walked out the door, her Hoppip right behind her. "Well, Hoppip, today's the day we finally get to go on our adventure! How do you feel?" "Hoppip, hop!" The pokemon replied, rising into the air even more than it usually did. Bethanne laughed a bit at it's enthusiasm, before turning to face the first of the three routes leading out of the town. "I'm glad you're excited. I am too, to tell you the truth. I can't wait to meet some other pokemon!" A light breeze began to blow, the wind heading towards the route the two were facing. Hoppip, being super light, began to float forward down the path. "Pip, Hoppip!" It cried back towards Bethanne, as if to express impatience. "I'm coming, Hoppip!" Bethanne looked back at the town one last time before heading down the route after her pokemon, slightly sad to be leaving, but more happy to be going on an adventure with her Hoppip. (((I'm gonna leave it hanging for whoever wants to pick it up. )))
  18. Bethanne looked up at the Professor's lab, her fingers idly tapping the side of her leg. Reaching for her belt, she grabbed the first of the six pokeballs, turning it in her hand. She clicked the button on the pokeball, and it expanded in her hand. She tossed it slightly, and the pokeball burst open in mid-air, allowing a Hoppip to take form and begin floating in front of her. Bethanne looked at the pokemon, smiling slightly. "You ready, Hoppip?" She asked, walking towards the lab in front of her. "Hoppip, hop!" The duo entered the building, one walking, one floating, both heading towards the far end, where the Professor currently stood. "Hoppip!" exclaimed the pokemon, rushing forward towards the pile of pokedexes on the counter. "Morning, Professor!" Bethanne started, watching as her pokemon attempted to pick up one of the dexes. "Sorry about Hoppip, he's really excited about today." (((@@Ampharos Sorry I was a bit late, forgot how hectic RPs could become. Do you mind explaining how exactly movesets etc. would work? I forgot pretty much everything from last time. XD )))

Basically it just means that the bonds we form by choice are stronger than those formed through biology.

It was a really old saying that was changed into the modern phrase: "Blood is thicker than water."
