  1. Well, I live with my grandmother, so I waited to do my active forcing at night; every night at bedtime, I'd lay in bed and spend an hour or so. It's been a while, but I still remember what I did when I was first creating Ariel... I was using a technique I read about, silently talking to the imagined form of my tulpa (I knew what she wanted to look like from the beginning), and just sort of telling her who she was, what traits I intended her to have. Of course, she's deviated a lot since then, but this was before Ariel was truly sentient. Otherwise, I spent as much time as possible with passive forcing, where I just talked to Ariel in my head without really expecting a response. Talking to them, giving the tulpa attention, that helps them grow! And soon enough, I found myself caught by surprise when she started replying to me Nowadays, I don't do much active forcing, but when I do, it's still the same time of day. I spend time with Ariel (and her daughter Blossom too!) in the wonderland, our imagined world that we created together.
  2. When I started tulpaforcing with Ariel, I started experiencing head pressures and emotional responses within a week or two. Within a month, give or take a couple weeks, the emotional responses got stronger and I started "hearing" words and phrases that I definitely recognized as Ariel instead of my own thoughts. ...You shouldn't use me as an example, though, it's been said that Ariel developed rather quickly for a tulpa It really does vary from person to person! Ariel's "voice" is distinct in my head, and I can always distinguish it from my thoughts now where I used to have difficulty with that. [Yeah, you'd think so, after three years ] I didn't ask for your input, silly [i gave it, anyway~] Anyway! I can also visualize her very well in my mind's eye and especially when I visit the wonderland, but other than that I can't physically see or hear her... Though to be fair, not much effort as been put into imposition since I started back in November 2013
  3. @@Mentis Soliloquy, @@Hazard Time, Lunar was by her captain's side when the Klingon officials arrived, standing alert and attentive as she heard the telltale sound of the transporter activating. A few quick clicks from the back of her throat once the figures had materialized, and immediately she could tell there were three of them. Her ears quirked at the greetings exchanged; their language was a fascinating one to listen to. Sharp syllables and guttural sounds - very befitting of the proud warrior race. She could practically hear that curl of his lip as the representative snarled the word "negotiations" with such disdain. It was immediately obvious to her that he would rather not be here, partaking in civil discussions; he probably preferred the fighting and bloodshed, knowing how Klingons operated. Well, at least he was open to the possibility of negotiating, otherwise he wouldn't be here at all. When Captain Soliloquy acknowledged her, she nodded her head. There wasn't much for her to say when not spoken directly to at the moment. Depending on how things went at the negotiations, though, she might have plenty to say.
  4. @@Mentis Soliloquy, I know it's just a small slip-up, but I do feel like I should point out that you should be referring to Lunar Symphony rather than Crystal Clear, who is Raven's character...
  5. In the politest terms I can muster: Let me tell you why that's bull crap Creating a tulpa is in no way detrimental to one's social life or connection with reality. Yes, there have been a few rare cases where the host was very nearly trapped in their own mind (mostly due to experimenting with possession/switching), but that's not the norm in tulpamancy at all. Case in point: I live with my grandmother. I also have two tulpas: Ariel and Blossom. I am capable of giving them my attention while at the same time being attentive to what's going on around me and responding to my grandmother if she talks to me or if she needs something. If I were "trapped by my own mind" or had completely lost touch with reality, she'd have probably noticed it by now and have gotten me professional help. Same for plenty of other tulpamancers I know: They live with someone or interact with people on a daily basis, all the while spending time with their tulpas when they are alone or simply whenever they can. So please, explain to me how these people have "no interaction with the real world," or have become "trapped by [their] own mind."
  6. I feel that I need to politely remind everyone that this request shope is closed for the time being so that I can get through my current request queue I'll get to the requests y'all have posted here once I get through with the requests I have! Though at this rate, I'm going to end up with another full queue before anyone else can even get a request in
  7. @@Acnologia, I am so sorry for the wait, but here's your Kyubi! She was super fun to draw, she's so cute
  8. I'd be down for that. Reading up on the representatives aside, Lunar could do with a little something more to do in the meanwhile
  9. Let's see... Galatea is an Earth Pony, so one kick and I'd be down, probably with a few cracked ribs, haha. Same with Nano, he's a robot pony so he's definitely stronger than me. And Ariel's magic is pretty powerful; if she was well and truly motivated to fight me, I probably wouldn't last a minute, but otherwise she'd likely be too scared to fight. I might be able to take my batpony Lunar Symphony down without too much of a fight, theoretically speaking... but I would never be so cruel as to hit a blind mare Conclusion: In pretty much every case, it would either be a stalemate or I'd end up in the hospital probably.
  10. @@C. Thunder Dash, Lunar looked to the griffon, and gave him a smile as she nodded her head. "Doing just fine." At the stop light, the thestral took a few moments to simply listen again. To the rumble of Thundy's car engine idling; the taxis passing by; all the sounds around her. When one lacked sight as Lunar did, sound became the most important thing. She was always aware of sounds, always listening, always alert for any noise. Her ears flicked up when she heard the music again, attention immediately drawn back to it. She knew now it was his radio, and she listened to the song that came on. A nice song. She was also aware of Thundy's paw tapping to the beat, not that she minded. In fact, she was almost tempted to follow the beat herself and tap her hoof, though she resisted the impulse.
  11. Lunar listened intently to the captain's (@Mentis Soliloquy) briefing, ears perked and alert. As he brought up images on the display, the thestral utilized the tactile interface on her console in order to follow along and be aware of what he was talking about while he talked of the planet and the system; as well as the Klingon and Romulan representatives respectively as their images were displayed. Klingons were rarely pleasant creatures as it were... And the Romulan (@Raven Rawne), though getting on in years, had a steely sort of air about him. Negotiations might be difficult, the counselor mused, especially since both races tended towards being so prideful. But at least it hadn't come to bloodshed over this valuable system of planets. If they were open to negotiations, then Lunar would certainly help to the best of her ability. Her keen sense for determining how one was feeling - in some cases, to pick out a liar if she caught the physical tells - would be useful. "Aye, sir," she affirmed when assigned her duty. "I'll do my best." She was quiet when asked if there were any questions; she had none, at least none that hadn't already been asked. She knew what she was to do, and she could only hope things would go well when the time came.
  12. @@Tao, Apologies for the wait, but finally here's Rune! I quite liked drawing her Consistent art style what's that With that, I do feel like I need to urge that I really can't accept any more requests for the time being. The people in my current queue have been waiting long enough as it is
  13. "Wait, you can't just - !" No use. Doctor Blood had ended the transmission before Lunar could get any further words in. The thestral hissed softly to herself, "The nerve..." She understood bending the rules sometimes was necessary, she really did. She wasn't some uptight officer that stamped her hoof down on any and all fun because of regulations. But the doctor was doing this just to spite the counselor! How petty. Well, at least events after that passed smoothly. Lunar only hated how her excitement had been dampened since then. She wasn't typically the sort to let others get under her skin, but there was something about the apparent fact that someone on the ship specifically held some grudge for counselors which irritated her. Lunar was quick to rise from her seat, taking only a few moments to gain her bearings before she made her way towards the briefing room for the meeting. A few clicks of echolocation told her that there were already four other figures in the room by the time she arrived. The thestral couldn't discern who was who without hearing their voices, but she nodded in their direction, giving general acknowledgement.
  14. @@Mentis Soliloquy, Apologies! Lots of stuff has been going on IRL, and I've been lacking the motivation to write... But! I'll get right on it!
  15. Hey, there! So, I've just been wondering about something... How many of y'all would be interested if I opened up a commission shop here on the forums? I'd still do all the free sketch requests here, but! You'd be able to buy cleaner works from me, complete with finished lineart and shading!
  16. If I opened a commission shop, would anyone be interested? You can find examples of my art here: https://mlpforums.com/topic/158691-miss-reapers-free-art-shop/

  17. @@BloodDrops, One ear flicked up at the sound of papers. Well, Lunar did have the authority to give the stamp of approval, so to speak, but she wasn't so sure if to give it so readily to this doctor. Particularly with the favor asked of her, it was more than apparent that Blood just didn't want to see the counselor. The thestral was not the uptight sort, far from it, but she wasn't about to condone an outright violation of procedure. She quirked an eyebrow as she replied, "Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I'm gathering that you'd just rather not see me. Doctor, it's your responsibility to keep the crew physically well, but it's my job to help make sure everyone is psychologically fit for duty. I'm not going to let you break protocol just because. If you want that stamp, you'll have to come see me." Another buzz, another flinch. "Though if you keep that up, I'll be seeing you in Sick Bay, anyway, with a headache..." "Ah. If you'll excuse me, then, Doctor, I have other matters to attend to."
  18. Forgive me for the lack of activity here! Between the holidays, schoolwork, and an at-home job I've recently taken on, it's been difficult for me to find the time or energy to draw very much I feel I should remind y'all that this shop is still closed in order to catch up on current requests, though. I'll let you know when I've opened up again! Which will hopefully be very soon; I plan to take up my tablet again today and draw, draw, draw!
  19. @@BloodDrops, At this point, Lunar well knew that the doctor was only trying to annoy her at this point. She was also aware that showing signs of irritation would, more likely than not, only spur her on. Blood Drops was obviously looking for a reaction, and giving her the satisfaction of one would encourage her. Thus, the counselor gave her best effort to keep a straight face; though she couldn't help but cringe again at the additional buzz, ears pressing back against the sides of her head. She drew in a breath to steady her nerves, then mustered a polite tone in answer. "Yes, it would appear there's not any trouble with communications. And yes, I did get the report, thank you. Did you need anything else?"
  20. @@Raven Rawne, Glad I could be of help! On the matter of having a tulpa's form and/or personality based off of tulpa, I figure I ought to put my two cents in since my Ariel is, in fact, based off of my OC Ariel. The simple answer is: Yes, your tulpa can be based off of your OC - just make sure that they're aware that they are, so that they know when they see you RPing with said OC. Like others have mentioned, they can even offer input on how you write said OC! On the opposite side of things, though... If you so much as glance at my OC Ariel's story, you can see she's not had the greatest life. She was abused as a filly, grew up riddled with anxiety, and suffers mental issues. I, ah... I didn't really want to inflict that kind of suffering on my to-be headmate, particularly when I have a few issues of my own. So while I based her form off of the OC, I pretty much told my tulpa that she's essentially an alternate version of this character. Since then, tulpa Ariel has become a pony of her own. She even changed her form so that she differentiates herself from the OC Ariel; from changing the color of her eyes, to altering her manestyle, and even turning herself from a unicorn into a pegasus. I'll let Ariel give her input, too: [she told me from the beginning that I'm not the same as the OC version of myself. I had an idea of what the OC version went through, and I'm kind of glad she decided that wasn't for me, haha. I changed myself so that I didn't look exactly like her, just so that it was a little less weird. But yeah, that's all I got to say.] Bottom line: Yes, you can totally base your tulpa off of your OC; just make sure they know that's what you did. Conversely, you can use the OC as a base for their form and then let them decide what they want to do from there. Just make sure you communicate with your tulpa once they're sentient!
  21. As someone that lives with her grandmother (and therefore also perpetually in someone's company), I can safely say that I communicate non-verbally with my tulpas pretty much 100% of the time. No speaking out loud required. Since a tulpa is technically part of you, they can "hear" thoughts you direct towards them. Think telepathy; you're consciously directing your thoughts towards the tulpa, and it's basically the same as talking to them out loud without actually having to speak out loud. [Yep. In fact, she's doing it right now.] Eeyup. If not for being able to do this, my own poor tulpas would be horribly neglected
  22. Lunar's ears flicked up to attention when she heard the whistle signaling a ship-wide communication. Hearing the captain's message, the thestral nodded to herself. At least she was already on the bridge, where she was to be anyway during this duty shift. A Red Alert situation didn't usually come with a warning, so she knew it was nothing to really be concerned about. It would do her well to keep alert, regardless. BZZZZZ! BZZZZZ! BZZZZZ! The counselor let out a quiet groan of annoyance. That sound was grating as it was, at least to her sensitive ears, and increasingly so when it repeated itself. It took some self-restraint to not hiss at the good doctor (@BloodDrops) when she answered. "I have very good hearing, you know. I heard the first time you buzzed me. What do you need?"
  23. Sorry for the delays! I ended up spending my evening visiting with relatives, and then was too tired to do much by the time I got home...
  24. @@Once In A Blue Moon, Lunar was well aware she didn't have the most trustworthy visage, particularly when one wasn't used to the sight of a thestral. Sharp teeth, cloudy red eyes... But she always had a gentle smile to offer, as well as her listening skills. It was what she was there to do as counselor, after all: listen to one's troubles and then help to the best of her ability. Her ears flicked, as though to make that obvious. "I understand... It can seem pretty daunting when you're just starting out," said she. "But, you've made it this far, Misty. You wouldn't be here right now if you didn't have the ability." The counselor rose from her seat, wings tucked neatly against her back, and after a brief pause stepped closer. "I know this all feels different, but you have the know-how in here." She tapped a finger to her own head to punctuate the point. "It's easier said than done, of course... But try to have a little faith in yourself."
  25. @@Once In A Blue Moon, Misty was right about one thing: medical officers, and especially counselors like Lunar that knew the ins and outs of general psychology, were keen to notice such things. Despite the fact that Lunar could not read the changes in one's facial expressions, she was extremely adept at determining the tone of voice and sometimes changes in body language. Even when one was attempting to keep emotion from slipping into their voice, she could tell. There was always a certain tautness, a strain to try and keep a level tone. Ensign Flight was nervous. That was understandable, though, and certainly nothing to warrant being relieved of duty. It was the first day on a new ship, with some kinks to iron out, so Lunar had gathered. Not to mention, Misty was an ensign surrounded by senior officers, and with the responsibility of having the helm at her hands. So the thestral only offered a smile and said, "Relax, Ensign. First-day nerves on a new ship get the best of even senior officers sometimes."
