  1. Hearth's Warming Club feels like it took Rarity Investigates and improved upon it.

    1. In RI!, Dash was guilty till proven innocent. If they found evidence to prove she didn't do it, the WB would permanently disqualify him. Here, Dash, Spike, and Twilight immediately knew one of the Student Six was the culprit, because they saw the suspect escape and trap himself in the quarters, and they were the only ones left. They had the evidence to call out the culprit. They just had to wait for one of them to admit the truth.
    2. The episode played along the idea that it wasn't any of the Student Six who vandalized the HW decor, but someone else. Gallus admitting to be the culprit was a big plot twist. In RI!, you saw the culprit from a mile away, making its revelation anticlimactic.
    3. Gallus's reasoning is very plausible. He messed up the room in hopes of keeping his friends here and wanting to spend time with them. Griffonstone remains a desolate wasteland, and by having no family, he had to survive on this own. The School of Friendship is his true home, and the ReYoung Five are his family.

I actually am very glad this episode didn’t make Cozy Glow or Chrysalis the villain. Doing so would have detracted much from the meaning and relations the Young 6 share.

I am also noticing a pattern in non Gabby Griffons. Gallus, like Gilda hides behind a tough and cool demeanor, but he’s much more caring and empathetic than he lets on deep down. It may be a nod to Gilda, or just thr hardships the griffons face, but its a great character development to be had. If I had to wager, I would say either Gallus or Smolder are the “Twilight” of the group, but I’m not sure if thst makes them the leader.

I felt this one focused less on the investigation and more on the Student 6 and their holiday celebrations. :) But regarding the investigation, I agree. "Rarity Investigates" showed the Wonderbolts in quite a bad light. I thought this was a better episode in general, though I liked Rarity's role in RI.
