  1. Boulder "eating" the sandwich was just the animators having fun. The mane 6 were too worried with Maud eating the rock anyway. I wonder if Maud's cutie mark of Tom was actually written, or if one of the animators did that as a joke. It really is though.
  2. Tabitha said the voice was inspired by an Austrian neighbor she used to walk her dog with. How it fits into Equestria I don't know- but it is funny.
  3. It's true- I re watched that part!!!! I was wondering where Tom was in this episode- I mean c'mon they had to put him in this episode somewhere!!
  4. Did Nobody else notice that Maud's pet rock ate the sandwich?
  5. I saw the Hub's Pi Day picture with pinkie and Maud and immediately hoped Tara strong would be doing her voice something like Raven from Teen Titans. The voice and character ended up similar to what I guessed but I don't think it was Tara. (EDIT: Maud was voiced by Ingrid Nilson) I thought it was a good episode. I knew she was going to be the opposite of Pinkie (of course). I thought her type of personality interacting with the others was great. I really like how Applejack didn't seem comfortable letting Maud use a knife. Another bit that I thought was funny was when Maud's pet rock Boulder ate a sandwich. I didn't catch it until I watched it the second time. Pinkie's mane deflating made me wonder how the episode was going to end- Maud sure wasn't giving any clues. Overall I like how this was a "different" episode. I also love drier/smart-ass type humor and characters like Maud in shows for some reason.
  6. I thought it was a pretty good episode. Applejack being obnoxiously overprotective could probably have something to do with the fact that their parents are dead and/or stress because she knows what lies ahead for her pie delivery journey (traveling through "hell" and trying not to get eaten). Maybe this episode offers some clues to what could have happened to their parents? For me one of the biggest issues I have with the show is the Apples' parents. Their parents are confirmed dead. The Apples are all about family, yet what happened to the parents is never mentioned. In the reunion episode they don't even have pictures in the album.
  7. For me started around Christmas 2013. Had some time off- channel flipping- saw the parody "Two Broke Powerpuff Girls." I could tell Bubbles' voice was original (Tara Strong). I haven't really watched cartoons much in like 10 years (I'm 25) so I searched to see what she does these days. I saw "My Little Pony" on her current projects. I was like "LOL they STILL make that DUMB SHOW?!?! I have a younger sister and would DREAD when she would watch it occasionally when we were little. At this point, I somehow knew NOTHING about the new version or its following and assumed it was like the old versions still. I was thinking that Tara must REALLY need the work to bother with THAT SHOW. I wanted to see her part on it thinking I was going to laugh at how crappy the show is. I started looking it up on YouTube and ended up confusing myself a little by accidentally watching a few fan made videos. Initially I thought Rainbow Dash was a boy after seeing some of these. I eventually found the first actual episode. Watching the intro song the first time I was wondering WHY the HELL am i BOTHERING with this? The first two episodes I thought were OK. After the Ticket episode I thought the show was actually funny and pretty good. The problem was now I felt like a crackhead. I had to find out WHY THIS WASN'T LIKE ANYTHING LIKE I REMEMBERED and why did I actually kind of like it?! I really don't like anything else like it. I was never into stuff like Harry Potter, Pokemon/anime, or Video games (besides car racing ones) or really anything else like the show. Well I was even more surprised when I found out the show had a huge following. What I like about it most is that It's a show with a good message made by good and talented people who TRULY care about the quality of the work they do. I mean look at a lot of the crap that's out there these days (not just limited to cartoons) that is "popular" and/or considered "Good" by a lot of people.
  8. LMAO!!!! This is the funniest thing I've heard all week JUST GREAT!!!
  9. I hope I came across right. I like Tara strong a lot. I used to watch a lot of shows that I didn't know she was in.. I would've been disappointed that she did MLP if it was still like the old versions. I'm glad she's in this generation of MLP because I wouldn't have found out about it otherwise.
  10. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Fluttershy How did you find MLP Forums?: Google How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I personally had NO IDEA whatsoever that this latest show generation existed. I don't get the Hub at the time and somehow ACTUALLY DIDN'T hear about the show online. In the past I've seen a few pony avatars and meme but didn't know or care about them at the time. I only found out about the show because I saw the parody "Two Broke Powerpuff Girls" while flipping channels around Christmas '13. I noticed Bubbles' Voice Actor seemed original (Tara Strong). I looked her up (wondering what she does nowadays) and saw "My Little Pony." I was like "WHAT!!! THEY STILL MAKE THAT DUMB SHOW?!?! Does she need the work that bad?" Anyway, I wanted to see what her part was and was expecting the show to be like the old one or worse. I used to DREAD when my sister would watch it sometimes when we were kids (I'm 25 now).I started to look up the show online and ended up confusing myself a little because I watched some of the fan made animations by accident too. I didn't get a lot of what was going on in them because I didn't know the characters or references. I also initially thought Rainbow Dash was a boy because of this too. It was surprising at how many fan made videos there were and how good the animation was on some of them. Then I saw Children of the night and was AMAZED!!! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS SHOW?!?! Now I had to find out. All this was just so weird. Why is there all this stuff out there about a little girls show? Is it just some joke I have no clue about?!? What's the deal?Hoping to become less confused, I decided to watch at least some of the actual first episodes. Getting through the intro song the first time was hard. All I could think was why am I bothering to watch this? Overall the first 2 episodes were OK. I figured they would be background/character introduction/etc. As I was getting through the third episode about the tickets and was kind of surprised how much different the show was from what little I remembered of the old one. It actually is pretty good?!? Next I looked into the back-story on the show. I found out about Lauren Faust and the show's origins. Then I found out about the show's following. I was shocked at how large it is. I was caught up episode-wise to the show by the Rainbow Falls episode in mid Feb '14. First of all- most people who know me would probably think I've lost my mind for actually liking this show as much as I do. I come across as a rather serious for the most part. When I was a kid, Powerpuff Girls is probably the closest thing to MLP that I've watched. I live in Michigan about a 1/2 hour north of Detroit. I love almost anything car related (except Smart cars and Priuses) Cars are more than an appliance in my opinion. I've traveled all of the US but a few states but still wouldn't want to move from Michigan, well except during the winter. In general I like darker toned stuff and humor on the drier side (for example I really like the Friendship is Witchcraft parody) Courage the Cowardly Dog is one of my favorite cartoons and Breaking Bad is my favorite series EVER. It was just so well done. I also bring this up because I just found out that Tara Strong got addicted to Breaking Bad and was binge watching it early this month (February 2014.) She didn't initially know John de Lancie (Discord) was in it either! Overall I would say I am an easy person to get along with. I would say I'm a reasonably open-minded person. I like to find out how/why things work and it bugs me if I can't. I really like to find positive/passionate people in the world who truly care about their work/cause and are NOT out there just trying to draw attention to THEMSELVES. A few of the people of the people I put on that list are the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin The British Rock/Alt. band Keane Damon Albarn- from Blur/Gorillaz and now the people involved in making MLP Of course I could ramble on with more stuff but I think this is a good place to end.
