My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Fluttershy How did you find MLP Forums?: Google
How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I personally had NO IDEA whatsoever that this latest show generation existed. I don't get the Hub at the time and somehow ACTUALLY DIDN'T hear about the show online. In the past I've seen a few pony avatars and meme but didn't know or care about them at the time. I only found out about the show because I saw the parody "Two Broke Powerpuff Girls" while flipping channels around Christmas '13. I noticed Bubbles' Voice Actor seemed original (Tara Strong). I looked her up (wondering what she does nowadays) and saw "My Little Pony." I was like "WHAT!!! THEY STILL MAKE THAT DUMB SHOW?!?! Does she need the work that bad?" Anyway, I wanted to see what her part was and was expecting the show to be like the old one or worse. I used to DREAD when my sister would watch it sometimes when we were kids (I'm 25 now).I started to look up the show online and ended up confusing myself a little because I watched some of the fan made animations by accident too. I didn't get a lot of what was going on in them because I didn't know the characters or references. I also initially thought Rainbow Dash was a boy because of this too. It was surprising at how many fan made videos there were and how good the animation was on some of them. Then I saw Children of the night and was AMAZED!!! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS SHOW?!?! Now I had to find out. All this was just so weird. Why is there all this stuff out there about a little girls show? Is it just some joke I have no clue about?!? What's the deal?Hoping to become less confused, I decided to watch at least some of the actual first episodes. Getting through the intro song the first time was hard. All I could think was why am I bothering to watch this? Overall the first 2 episodes were OK. I figured they would be background/character introduction/etc. As I was getting through the third episode about the tickets and was kind of surprised how much different the show was from what little I remembered of the old one. It actually is pretty good?!? Next I looked into the back-story on the show. I found out about Lauren Faust and the show's origins. Then I found out about the show's following. I was shocked at how large it is. I was caught up episode-wise to the show by the Rainbow Falls episode in mid Feb '14.
First of all- most people who know me would probably think I've lost my mind for actually liking this show as much as I do. I come across as a rather serious for the most part. When I was a kid, Powerpuff Girls is probably the closest thing to MLP that I've watched.
I live in Michigan about a 1/2 hour north of Detroit. I love almost anything car related (except Smart cars and Priuses) Cars are more than an appliance in my opinion.
I've traveled all of the US but a few states but still wouldn't want to move from Michigan, well except during the winter.
In general I like darker toned stuff and humor on the drier side (for example I really like the Friendship is Witchcraft parody) Courage the Cowardly Dog is one of my favorite cartoons and Breaking Bad is my favorite series EVER. It was just so well done. I also bring this up because I just found out that Tara Strong got addicted to Breaking Bad and was binge watching it early this month (February 2014.) She didn't initially know John de Lancie (Discord) was in it either!
Overall I would say I am an easy person to get along with. I would say I'm a reasonably open-minded person. I like to find out how/why things work and it bugs me if I can't.
I really like to find positive/passionate people in the world who truly care about their work/cause and are NOT out there just trying to draw attention to THEMSELVES. A few of the people of the people I put on that list are
the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin
The British Rock/Alt. band Keane
Damon Albarn- from Blur/Gorillaz
and now the people involved in making MLP
Of course I could ramble on with more stuff but I think this is a good place to end.
