Not the same logic, and based on both my personal world view and the phasing of your question being just general enough to define multiple approaches .. yes. Though this isn't the thread to discuss the Great Man Historical think that still permeates society.

You know, just had an amusing thought, this is like an Imperialist discussing how they should impose their own moral standards on another society. Just let the Ponies have their own culture which seems to only give lasting punishments to the those that piss off Celestia directly.

The difference is that Trixie is evil and driven by jealousy, regardless of the fact that she is a neat character overall. Twilight made a mistake but she had no ill intentions. She simply didn't know how to fix the problem she created. With Trixie, all her problems from "Boast Busters" were her own. She is probably not even a legit magician. At least they wouldn't go around calling themselves all powerful but having nothing to back it up with. She even believes her own lies, making her like a cult leader that is so pathetic that she can only gain impressionable foals as followers.

Trixie isn't portrayed as evil. And regarding magical ability ... she bent light into a physical form. That is pretty impressive.

If they willingly accepted her challenge, sure. Remember that I pointed to Sunset Shimmer. Many of my opinions on the actions and consequences of the show are directly related to frames of reference I'm given.  You see, since I saw Equestria Girls before I ever watched Boast Busters I think my reasoning is valid. The antagonists punishments keep validating my argument too.

Next we'll start saying that Flim and Flam should be punished for their first appearance

If Sunset Shimmer, the would be kidnapper of souls and invader of ALL of Equestria gets away with having to rebuild a wall (which she would probably make Snips and Snails do anyway) and becoming friends with the other mane 5 ... then Trixie is fine.  

I mean, she really didn't do anything majorly wrong in Boast Busters ... but had her reputation ruined. She gets a pass. Her anger was partially justified. Maybe make her poor and travel around pulling an 8*8 room ... oh wait. Yeah. Poor Mare.

If you don't mind ones that the show basically broke by invalidating it, I just read Keeper of Discord and found it a solid read.

It's weird in a way because that scene is why I feel that Pinkie being portrayed as oblivious to her own insensitivity in Filly Vanilli was 'in character'. RD had no excuse though. Then again I do consider each one of the Mane 6 to be learning from their lessons at a different pace. Rarity, Applejack, and Twilight seem to catch on pretty quickly.

Enough of that though.

My fandom of Trixie has always been greatly overshadowed by my fandom of Rarity (and for good reason ) but I'm still a pretty gung-ho Trixie fan nonetheless First piece of Trixie merch, and it was worth the money I threw at it

 

I love that piece! Favorite one my far. Though I can't decide in your photo ... is Trixie commanding an Army of Rarity or getting ambushed by her.

Rarity has amazing taste in actors and shows.

Now, playing devil's advocate here ... people keep mentioning 'African Culture'. Which one? Which African culture? It is a huge continent with the longest history and is probably among the least studied regions of the world (at least in US Public Schools). 

If someone said US culture ... I would wonder, "Which region?" Why is Africa treated any differently. If I were to say the names Mpande, Biko, Yohannes IV, or ... Aesop ... would you know their stories and origins are as different as Washington was to Henry Ford.

I live in Japan, and they seem to just repeat season 1 and 2 over and over. But they advertise a game with the equestria girls, and they're also advertising Princess Twilight toys. So I'm a bit confused. Will they dub season 3 and 4 or did they just give up and focus on selling toys and games, even though they're basically spoilers?

Season three still hasn't been announced by Bushiroad yet (I think that they have the license still but not sure), which is a damn shame because the Japanese dubbed songs are my favorite of the foreign dubs (which Germany close behind since I have a better grasp on the language and can actually pick out words and phrases myself).

I want the songs from MMC in Japanese!

No, I think they are either misinformed or rushing to judgement. Throwing around the term racist is not something you should take lightly at all. Racism carries a lot of connotations, and calling someone a racist because they think a stereotype, even if it's positive, is racist does not warrant calling them a racist at all. In fact, to me it's kind of dangerous to throw around that term. I'd like to save it for the people who are actually racists and not a poster who honestly just wanted to talk about how they thought a particular character was a racist stereotype.

Thank you for commenting on that. One of the hardest labels to throw off is being pegged a racist. Even if it's unfairly attributed.

It's important to point out that there are divergent views of how to qualify racism (Political, operative, and clinical). I suspect some are couching their terms in a political view of race ... which ... well ... not good in my opinion. Defining what is and isn't racist from ANY State agenda is at best limiting. At worst ... well ... the United States, Germany, USSR, and on are examples of a bad world view influencing race and the definition there of.

The OP did not come across as racist, by the operative and clinical definition.

Imagine others complexly ... individually.

I've seen the equivalent of horse famous on a regular board (Hugh Howie of Wool and Silo fame posts regularly on the Kindle boards) and outside of some jealousy and fan fawning ... it's fine. In the Self Publishing world he is basically god.

That said, I would prefer content creators (Mando, Forest Rain, Acoustic, etc) over analysts. Though Dr. Wolf would have a few good topic ideas.

Yes! The show needs a Rarity an RD centric episode. Out of all the one on one friendships it is easily the least explored. I don't say this as a Rarity fan ... I say it as a fan of the show in general.
