it's request time! again KAY nothing new but we back at it again. I just got the new version of clip studio paint and I need to get used to it. plus it's kinda hard to open comissions with no recent art isn't it? aha so same old same old. you link ONE pon oc who you would like art for, and I select which pons I would like to draw. it's not first come first serve, but whatever catches my eye. remember ONE sketch per person per post. failure to ignore this means automatic skip the list 1) NONE this'll be updated as we go so keep an eye out for who I'll draw next. I keep doing these threads but they're just so fun. it's nice to see all the creativity in pon oc's c:

after the first watch, plot wise I thought it was kinda weak, tho I didn't expect anything more, since the plot of a christmas carol is basically translated into mlp, but song wise I thought it was good. the songs were all fun and enjoyable, especially starlight's villain song!! more original plot less throwback references / pandering just to please long-time fans of the OT (◕‿◕ ) character wise, I actually LOOOVED the new trio. in my opinion, they're well balanced, each with strengths and weakness, and I like the whole positive vibe the give. and if people think rey's a mary sue, if she's a skywalker (protip: she totally is) then please just look at luke & anakin. being talented from the get go is basically a family trait. rey is a literal ray of sunshine, nothing to change with her. one change I would have liked is more force ghost!vader & anakin!! I actually stumbled across these really interesting pics of concept art for the film, which showed a version of anakin / vader as a force ghost, where he would shift between each form. well they're always hope for ep. VIII also padme. I want a padme mention. if rey's a skywalker she is I wanna see a connection drawn between her and leia and padme. -
ALRIGHT so I've picked out the next few to get pics and with that, I'm officially declaring requests full. I wanna get these next few pics done, draw some art for myself, and open up commissions soon. I may go back and sketch a few pons from previous posts before this post, but I won't be accepting any new requests for a time. thanks to everyone who asked so far! it's been fun trying to draw all you cool ocs~ so that's the end of round one! check again in a week or so for round two ;j

Personally, I quite like to contemplate drawing art, contemplate reading books, contemplate catching up on tv shows, staring at the fridge a few times ever hour. Oh and realizing I've done nothing all day so I'll do it all tomorrow ^u^ -
You really gotta force yourself to draw some times don't ya. And speaking from experience it's not easy at all. It's overwhelming. You want to draw, and sometimes you just don't know what, or other times you just don't know how to start. I'll find myself often times just making pointless circle scribbles simply because I can't seem to focus in on anything. It can help sometimes, getting the feel for drawing, by trying to turn those scribbles into really abstract people, just because it's something OOOOH I'm the exact same way with schoolwork even now. My mom used to tell me the same thing as well, but there's just something about hearing it from a different source while your on your own that makes you stop and think about it. At least for me that is. Though I like to think as I'm getting older, I'm getting better at prioritizing. It's tough tho, since a lot of it mind over matter sometimes :/

I really like this thread cause I struggle something AWFUL with finding the motivation to complete tasks. It's something I'm really trying to fix, especially as I'm moving towards drawing art for others, and I sometimes just can't seem to bring myself to draw. Something I heard recently that I'm trying to apply to my work now, is to ask myself if I'm going to feel guilty later if I don't complete a task now. If I put something off, will I regret it later. It really puts the onus on you to prioritize what's important, rather than what you'd like to do.
