If Fluttershy died I'd be shocked and devastated like most people, but I wouldn't stop watching the show because I value the other five too much to stop watching it.

I don't really mind if it's an earth pony or otherwise as long as it's a sophisticated villain. I would really like to see a villain that has good intentions but uses unsound methods to meet their ends, instead of those cardboard cut-out villains that look like demons from hell or suffer from laughing gas disorder.

Even though Twilight Sparkle is rule-based and a control freak, I think the way that she handles situations with her friends is that she is able to emotionally disconnect herself from them and think through solutions reasonably and logically without letting her emotions get in her way (which is definitely a positive attribute), but in my opinion, her major weakness (apart from her OCD) is that she sometimes uses force in certain situations where it is unnecessary and can ultimately backfire when trying to control others (i.e. Bird in a Hoof). I find Twilight Sparkle the most admiring character not only because I relate to her on many levels such as her curiosity and neurotic tendencies, but because she is able to develop a deep, intimate relationship with her friends despite her setbacks. The secure attachments that she develops with her friends, her siblings and possibly her family is the one thing that separates me from her.

A zap apple would probably taste like a spicy rainbow paddle pop, because I miss those damn things.

Personally I think Angel Bunny is overrated, but I only want to say that because he's a dick. There's a number of characters that I think are underrated, but apart from Applejack and Princess Luna I'd have to say that Coco Pommel is quite underrated considering that I expected her to make another major appearance in the season after...

I dislike certain aspects about Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy for different reasons, though I still think they're both awesome. For Rainbow Dash it's a whole bunch of small things like teasing Spike in Dragon's Quest for being smaller and tamer than the others and treating Fluttershy poorly on numerous occasions, but I still look beyond these flaws and admire her pride, self-esteem and courage since those seem to stand out a lot more. As for Fluttershy, for some reason she seems to be the one from the mane six that I'm the least attached to, probably because there's not much about her character that inspires me personally.
