  1. This makes a lot of sense because somebody I live with has exactly this issue, and I get uncomfortable whenever she constantly thinks pessimistically about herself. It's also the reason why I have trouble connecting to Fluttershy, but I think that will change overtime. Ditto. This has bothered me too. I really, really cannot stand the superiority complex of authority figures. Not all schools are like that though. The private school I went to encourages you to call teachers by their first name.
  2. I'm very picky when it comes to anime, and usually it comes down to pacing. For instance, I can never really get into Gurren Lagann or Kill La Kill because the scenes are transitioning so quickly that it's difficult for me to integrate with what is currently happening. There was one particular anime where the pacing was so bad that after the episode was over I was staring blankly at the screen wondering WTF just happened.
  3. This is the dance I make whenever I hang out my bed sheets in windy conditions with the sun in my eyes.
  4. Equestria Games is one of my favourite episodes of MLP: FiM.
  5. The school that I used to go to was one of the very first areas in Australia to be affected by the Swine Flu back in 2009.
  6. I know that feeling. I sucked so much at Dota 2 to the point that I couldn't find any joy in playing it.
  7. This is why Polyamory is a thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyamory
  8. You hit the nail on the head. That would actually make a really awesome premise for an MLP episode.
  9. If that's the case, then true friendship is appreciating the values of others without having to give up your own.
  10. Surely there would be other alternatives out there right? I'd hate to imagine that somebody with a high school diploma would be working five nights at Freddy's.
  11. Never had a girlfriend and never been kissed, and to be honest I don't care so much about it anymore.
  12. This has puzzled me for a while now, but whenever I check reviews for colleges (universities if you're Australian like myself) people never mention the academic quality of the courses and programs themselves. It's obscured by people constantly talking about how good the architecture is, how clean the environment is, how resourceful the facilities and libraries are, and so on. This is really sinister considering that my own university has a poor track record in regards to teaching their students when they actually encourage them to use the internet to complete practicals and assignments, even when teachers-- I mean, researchers say otherwise. I think university is only beneficial to those who have a strong desire to research new ideas and discover new innovations that can revolutionise people's lives. That being said, the majority of people (including myself) do not belong in university for this very reason, and other alternatives that can help people develop necessary skills and experience through vocations, apprenticeships or even volunteering is a much more efficient and cost-effective alternative to those who don't have the drive to research.
  13. Chocolate spiders with peanut butter filling... When you combine chocolate and dried noodles and then mix it with peanut butter, I dream of wonderful things.
  14. I overlooked this recently but this makes the most sense to me. I find it ridiculously hard forming a rare union of closeness and trust with somebody due to emotional blindness, but it's not impossible. I always used to have this assumption that friendship was just hanging out with friends and doing practical stuff, but that was only because I never understood the emotional component of it. I think I might be able to fix that by expanding on my creative writing, or at least find other alternatives that can make articulation a lot easier.
  15. I used to have some really weird, messed up dreams when I was a lot younger, but now most of my dreams are usually things that are monotonous or based on real life events, but don't exactly include any fantasy elements. Dreams that deal with fantasy are so rare for me that I hang on to them. I remember one dream that I had over 10 years ago where I was sent to a yellow, spherical mothership the size of the moon where I met aliens that were identical to humans. I met a group of girls who were dressed in yellow spacesuits that instantly wanted to be my friends. I was sent to a science lab on the ship where I had blood samples taken and for some reason I had to be separated from my parents, probably because I was so similar to their kind that they wanted to keep me. Then my dream took a left turn and all of a sudden the girls in the yellow spacesuits were in a music video flying on hoverboards. I don't know what happened after that.
  16. I definitely agree with 1 and I definitely agree with 6. The other four I don't know much about.
  17. I'm a libertarian. I take both personal and economic freedom very seriously. The right-wing are more against personal freedom whereas the left are more against economic freedom, which is why I steer away from both of them.
  18. To be honest I understand Darker's perspective here. I acknowledge that there are people that simply don't want anything to do with people and I'm totally fine with that. Anyways, if I were to describe friendship in my own words, it would be something exactly like the elements of harmony, except true friendship lies in the element of magic. You can have Laughter, Loyalty, Kindness, Generosity and Honesty, but without magic it has no depth or meaning to it. Depth and meaning is the most important thing to friendship because it represents the value that you have to your friends and to yourself.
  19. I was cruising the internet recently and I noticed that a lot of people had some really interesting perspectives in regards to friendship. For instance I was going through a whole bunch of responses from people on what friendship meant to them and their definitions were something like: “Friendship is like a guitar; the music may stop now and then, but the strings will last forever.” “Friendship is like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle – you get the occasional mismatch, but when you find the right fit, you stick closely together.” “Friendship is like an unexpected silent pillar of strength that guides and support me to be a better and stronger individual.” The reason I mention this is because if somebody were to ask me what friendship meant to me, I wouldn't be able to give them a straight answer. So I'm wondering for those of you who obviously take friendship seriously, what does it really mean to you? And most importantly, how does it make you feel?
  20. I have a couple of silly fears and some serious ones: 1. Punishment, disapproval and emotionally charged criticism 2. The real threat of being lonely and disconnected for a very long time 3. Dying from a serious illness 4. Brown snakes 5. Giant centipedes Silliest fear: Meningococcal meningitis. It infects 2 in 100,000 people every year with a 15% mortality rate, mostly affects toddlers and teenagers, and 10-20% of the population have the bacterium without getting sick at all, and yet I'm still freaked out by this thing...
  21. Multiple currencies is a thing. In real life, you have normal, boring fiat currency, but people are now starting to use cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin, etc. So I think it makes a lot of sense that Equestria can exchange goods and services with bits and gems. The only question is, which one did they use first?
  22. It's funny because a lot of B-grade soap operas are good at that kind of thing.
  23. I'm not exactly sure who should do the voice-acting for Starswirl, but I have an idea of what he might sound like. Does anyone remember when Douglas Seale played Santa Claus in Ernest Saves Christmas? Is there anyone out there that sounds like him?
  24. I'd pay money to see Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia in an eating contest.
  25. It'd be funny if Applejack is the one cussing and Applebloom is the one that keeps telling her to stop it.
