  1. Merry Birthiversary!

  2. Merry Birthiversary!

  3. So, I ended up showing her "May The Best Pet Win" for the song in it, and how I thought it might appeal to her. She did like the song, but I was unsuccessful at convincing her it isn't purely a "kid's show". Oh well. I don't think I'll get her to watch another episode unfortunately.
  4. Thank you both for your suggestions! I do remember once trying to get someone into the show using "The Return to Harmony". Perhaps the fact that it ends on a cliffhanger is also a good way to hook a person.
  5. Hey all! A couple of years ago, I was really active in the herd. Slowly, however, my interests led me elsewhere. I'm not sure why. Anyway, I just began to "come to" in a way, remembering how much I like this show. Since I was a hardcore participator in the herd, I have gotten married and my wife is allowing me to show her ONE episode. She doesn't think I'm crazy or anything for liking the show, she just doesn't get it. She is dead set on remaining firm and not "falling" for the ponies. I'm trying to think of the best episode to start my wife off on. Normally, I would just start her off on the first episode, however, since she has agreed to only one episode (it took A LOT to get her to agree to even that), I would like to pick the best possible "hook" episode. Before I show her an episode, I plan on watching Season 7 (which I haven't seen yet) and what has come out of Season 8, so feel free to mention any of those episodes should you desire. My main goal is to get her to a point where at least she is like, "Okay, I get why people would like this now.", but if I get her to actually like the show herself, that would be awesome! Any suggestions are awesome! Edit: Just thought I'd add this little bit of information. I'm trying to find least stereotypically "girly" episode, or what one would consider as such. My wife is a tomboy and the reason she is so hesitant is the fact that she has that very common perspective of "MLP is a show for little girls."
  6. Wow. And just like that, so many jokes and memes have been rendered meaningless.
  7. I was going to say something like this as well. Though it is a good show, in the end it is just a show. I've been trying more and more not to devote my entire life to a cartoon.
  8. In the case that the show would end, I would certain feel a bit of sadness. However, after the initial shock of the event, I would pretty much just move on. Though MLP has changed my life quite a bit, and introduced me to so many new friends, it is still just a cartoon. Even now, I have been realizing how much time I spend on trivial stuff such as cartoons and television. I have been trying to severely reduce that time I spend on trivial things so I can begin trying to actually accomplish important things in my life. After all, you only live once.
  9. I loved them! I for one thought they were an absolutely genius way of approaching a situation in which it would be impossible to please everyone.
  10. How is the compilation going to be presented? For example, should I just do one continuous shot of me answering those questions? I mean how exactly are you looking for it to be filmed?
  11. I'm not being intolerant and bigoted. I never said Big Mac as a transgender would be a bad thing. What I was trying to say is that anyone in their right mind would know that the theme of the episode was not to make Big Mac a transgender.
  12. When all is said and done, this episode really hit home for me. All in all, it was pretty funny, but what really sold me on this episode was that ending scene. Ever since I started watching this show, for some reason, I began really relating to Big Mac. I am the oldest of my siblings, I usually don't talk much, and like to go about my chores/work in silent personal contemplation. When you think about it, with how little he speaks, Big Mac probably holds in quite a lot of his feelings. When he started pouring out his feelings of how he basically feels unappreciated, it made him even more relatable. I mean, who doesn't feel unappreciated from time to time? P.S. Oh, and also, the whole transgender Big Mac stuff is a bunch of crap. It's freaking obvious that is not what the writers were trying to convey. People need to just stop being idgits.
  13. I would definitely be my pony(pegasus) OC. As for what I would do for the week I was there, I would want to find a way that I could stay forever. To do that, to be honest, I would probably go to Discord to start. He is, after all, basically an all powerful god. If there is anyone that can allow me to stay there forever, it would be him.
  14. I really like Dragostea Din Tei aka the Numa Numa song. Romanian is my second language, also the language this song is sung in. It has some freakishly weird lyrics but still awesome.
