  1. Honestly, if Discord had been in this episode, his nightmare either would have been him trapped in a normal world without his magic, re-encased in stone, or back on Star Trek (which really should have been the world he was going to send TreeHugger to!). Luna punishing herself? Wow, that's so dark! I love it, it actually fits her. I feel that there should have also been a nightmare Celestia, that would have MADE it! The Tantabus at the end, morphing into a giant wavy Luna? Totally epic, great animation, wonderful imagery. I may use that, as a human, for a film one day. And honestly here, it was Prince Macintosh, not Princess! Golden Oaks lives again! Fluttershy, tired of constantly being the caregiver, finally gets some time for herself. Well, the dreams could be interpreted as being one's deepest desires. Luna, obviously, wished to properly punish herself. Big Macintosh regrets, to a certain extent, being an Earth Pony. Fluttershy dislikes being so weak and vulnerable. Spike wants to be the hero (even though he's practically a demi-god in the Crystal Empire; they've probably already forgotten the 'Cloudsdale Anthem'!) Lyra and Bon-Bon (Sweetie Drops?) wish to be closer. Twighlight STILL misses the Golden Oaks library quite a bit. Scootaloo is very insecure about her small wings. Any that I really missed?
  2. Am I glad I'm a brony? Duh, or I wouldn't be one. Do I wish I could tell other people, and still be accepted? Every. Damn. Day. This community, this FANDOM, is NOT about My Little Pony. Sure, that's a huge part of it, and yes it is totally freakin' AWESOME! But the true, underlying feel to it is the feeling of acceptance. No matter what walk of life, race, gender, age, species, it doesn't matter. We're all people, and that's all there is to it. No other group, religion, culture, anything... can say that. I am a man. I like wrestling, football, hot babes, video games,. a cold one, fast cars, etc. But I also have a heart. I'm also human. Shouldn't I be allowed to be? So yes, I'm glad (and PROUD!) to be a brony. I just wish the rest of the world was, too.
  3. Well, I've been working for some time on a crossover fic of Fallout: Equestria and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, and I would KILL for a cover picture of the main hero (an augmented stable 101 stallion) and the spirit that is inhabiting him, Starswirl the Bearded, like the cover of SoM, perhaps with a little Fo:E background? http://images5.alphacoders.com/547/547393.jpghttp://www.xboxachievements.com/images/news/SOM_GOTY_banner.jpg
  4. Actually, I could use some help writing this story; I'm great with characters, personalities, situations, etc, but I can't write a story to save my life. I have tried this one on multiple occasions, and each time it comes out more like a script than a dialogue: I can't do motion, I can't do characters doing things, I can only do speech. Interested?

Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:07 PM Well then how does Fallout Equestria happen if it's principal villain is dead before Littlepip even leaves Stable Two? Moreover, the Black Book was created only a few years before the Great War, Starswirl had been dead for centuries, he wouldn't know any more about it than a Hellhound. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 07:13 PM Not true. It is never stated when the book is created, only when it is acquired. Second, Starswirl/unnamed-security-pony will NOT succeed in their quest, they will FAIL, just like in the Bright Lord DLC, but only at the very end. Or perhaps not, maybe the security will die, but Starswirl's spirit could remain, and intangibly set up 'lucky coincidences' for Pip and Co. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:18 PM The book could still not be that old as it was only made into a soul jar slightly before the Mane Six found it. If I'm wrong, fine, you got your ring allegory. Secondly though, then it's not really a Shadow of Mordor crossover is it? It's just Fallout Equestria with an invisible greek chorus who can occasionally shake the set pieces. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 07:23 PM Ok, 1 I don't get that reference. 2, It totally IS a SoM crossover, but not so much a crossover, as the exact same thing as FoE (eg, a ponified version of a videogame), but with different characters in the same world. Basically, another side story (Pink Eyes, Project: Horizons, etc.), but in and of itself, a standalone thing. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:27 PM Soul Jars. The Black Book was one. It's an object imbued with a pony's soul and that in turn makes the object all but indestructible. Other soul jars? All the little Mane Six statues Littlepip finds? My point is that a true fusion of Shadow or Mordor should not star Littlepip, it should star a new character on some other slice of Equestria. By all means, have Starswirl fill Celebrimbor's role, by all means, have Sombra start to come back and regain power. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 07:32 PM I got Soul Jars, I didn't get the Greek Chorus. This story doesn't star Littlepip; if she's even going to be mentioned, it will only be in passing, or through another pony's perspective. Also, Sombra is, as far as anypony is concerned, dead and forgotten. What he wants is the book (although now that I'm thinking of it, the book already plays such a major role, and was already discovered by the Mane 6, so even though FoE hasn't happened yet, the book has already been moved from Starswirl's hiding place... so now I need another reason to bring him back. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:37 PM Oh, a Greek Chorus is like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, or C-3PO and R2-D2, or the Oompa Loompas. They are minor characters that offer asides and observations about the plot and going ons of the main characters. It stretches all the way back to Greek theater tradition, hence the name. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ So who is "he" in this case, Red Eye? cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 07:38 PM Yeah, Red Eye. He wants to be the new God, after all, and needs to find a way. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:41 PM Okay! NOW I see where you are connecting! Okay, so Red Eye needs Starswirl's soul for some reason or another. So he performs some dark unity ritual to summon him from the other side and our protagonist is just some poor Wasteland sap who drew the short straw. Am I following correctly thus far? cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 07:46 PM Almost! The 'inhabited' person is a blood-sacrificed security stallion, the only other survivor from stable 101. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:51 PM Well the only named characters actually from Stable 101 are Doc Slaughter, Doctor Glue, and Gizmo. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 07:53 PM Yeah, so I need a name, something believable. Everyone else was poisoned, except this guy (and the other mentioned ones), and he was captured by a triad of Alicorns after a last stand. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 07:55 PM Okie dokie lokie, who is he? Pony names fit into the usual naming scheme so actually knowing what the character is about first and then giving them a name is best. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 08:03 PM Yeah... well, I know he's friendly, he always greeted everyone with a smile; but whenever duty called, he was always the first to act. His coat is a darkish gray, his mane and tail are fire-colored, and done in Spitfire/(EqG blue-maned guitar player, guard, Twilight's crush) style, giving the appearance of him looking like a pony-shaped rock with fire coming off. Very serious when it comes to the line of duty, he has seen a lot in his life, slightly closer to retirement age, but definitely still young enough to hold his own. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 08:07 PM So is he serious, or is he friendly? Sure, most ponies would be serious under a serious circumstance, that's not a personality trait, that's just a natural response. The question is what is the character like at rest? When the plot is not effecting them, what are they doing and what are they like? Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 08:09 PM So what did he do in the Stable? How did he react and what did he do when he had to evacuate? cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 08:10 PM He likes to smile and tell jokes; he was raised to be a gentlestallion: hold a door for a lady, offer a tissue, help pick things up, etc. A real decent pony. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 08:11 PM Okay good, now we're getting somewhere. Steel Accord, on 24 Apr 2015 - 8:09 PM, said: So what did he do in the Stable? How did he react and what did he do when he had to evacuate? cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 08:18 PM Well, when everypony died (it was rather sudden, a timed magical toxin release in the water, after everypony had drunk it, save Red Eye at the feast), our hero was laid up in the hospital after part of the ceiling crashed down on him when he was on his rounds. He had been fed via I.V. for several days and so did not have any of the contaminated water in his system. He was almost fully recovered (Stable 101 being technologically advanced to the point where they could heal even the most grevious of wounds in just a few days), and so was able to get up and successfully hide for quite a while. After seeing that everypony else was dead, he decided to blow up the Stable, in a effort to kill Red Eye and the alicorns inside (possibly along with several Raiders), but was discovered early on and was forced to hole up in the pantry. Unfortunately, there were teleporting alicorns there, and they were easily able to oust him. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 08:20 PM That actually sounds like the beginning of the game with Talion and a nice parallel. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 08:22 PM Thank you; that's what I'm aiming for. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 08:24 PM Good, now a name. Hmmm . . . . I'm honestly still drawing a blank. cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 08:32 PM Same here. I was thinking like 'Gunmetal' or Fire- something, due to his colors, but neither really encaptures his personality. Steel Accord Sent 24 April 2015- 08:34 PM Not in the slightest. Might I get back to you tomorrow on this? cosmic_joke Sent 24 April 2015- 08:41 PM Any time, any time! I'll still be here. cosmic_joke Sent Yesterday, 06:29 PM His name is Broken Hinge. His wife was Rusty Hinge (maiden name Nail) and his son was Squeaky Hinge, nicknamed Squeak. Over the radio, Pon3 will refer to him as either 'Broken' or 'Unhinged', both as a play on his name, and due to the numerous reports of him talking to no one (the ghost of Starswirl being invisible). Watcher will constantly be getting at him for being such a loner and having no friends to pal around with. As time progresses, he grows to hate himself more and more, believing himself to be more of a monster than all of the ponies he's slaying. His son's weapon is an antique double-barreled shotgun, which was broken off at the base of the barrel by a raider during the initial storming of 101, and by the end will be reforged as a sawed-off. His main weapon and Starswirl's weapon are undecided as of yet. He needs something melee, but FoE is a FPS... Steel Accord Sent Yesterday, 06:41 PM First of all, GREAT revisions! Second of all, so? I always play melee and unarmed and with the third person view. cosmic_joke Sent Today, 12:08 AM Thanks; I try! Ok, so how about Starswirl's 'wraith' weapon is his hat, and his attack is a telekinetic bullet, like Blackjack's from Project Horizons? but what would Broken's main attack be? His main weapon? 101 was a techno-stable... maybe his front legs were augmented into power-fists? I don't know, but it seems like there's something there... Starswirl's unicorn magic is what will allow Broken to climb structures like Spider-man. Steel Accord Sent Today, 12:12 AM Well with that logic, wouldn't Starswirl's weapon just be his horn? Why use magic for that? If Broken's front legs are augmented, maybe that's one of their functions. cosmic_joke Sent Today, 06:26 AM Hmm you make some pretty good points, on both counts.

  7. What I'm mostly looking for is some transitiony bits: Talion - Hero Forge Tower - SPP hub Torvin - Watcher Celebrimbor - Starswirl the Bearded Caragor - Hellhound Ghul - Ghoul (feral) Groug - ? Morgai fly - Paradore Lithariel - young Gawdyna Queen Marwen - Gawdyna's father (need name) The Hammer - purple alicorn The Tower - green alicorn The Black Hand - blue alicorn Sauron - Red Eye Several problems I've encountered: there is only one SPP hub in Everfree, so it would make sense that this would take place across all of Equestria, with the hubs being waypoints, allowing for Fast Travel once unlocked. But Equestria is hundreds of miles across, and neither Starswirl nor the Hero are pegasi, the former being a unicorn and the latter being an earth pony. Second, SoM is around a half-and-half mix of melee and ranged, whereas in FoE, there is almost no melee, as everypony has a gun. Third, I cannot find a reason for Red Eye to have had the alicorns summon Starswirl, although perhaps that was under the direction of the Goddess, in the hopes of using him for... something? I'll post my entire conversation with another forum member on here in a minute...
  8. @Sgt. Smiles. Uuuhhh... I asked specifically for somepony who has played SoM, and it definitely sounds like you haven't. I'm sorry, but my fic is so in-depth with it that I really couldn't explain all of the nuances. Just as Fallout: Equestria is the ponyfied version of Fallout, Shadow of Everfree is the ponyfied version of Shadow of Mordor. Sorry.
  9. Well, the regen points for the as-yet-unnamed protagonist, possessed by the spirit of Starswirl the Bearded, will be the SPP hubs. The orc captains will be Reapers, while orcs are Raiders. Hero is the last surviving guard from Stable 101, and the Black Hand are 3 alicorns, blue purple and green. I just need some clarification: why was Starswirl summoned? Name for the hero? Red Eye is the main antagonist.
  10. I need help writing me new fic Fallout: Equestria - Shadow of Everfree. Nothing major, I just need a little input for continuity's sake.
  11. Well now, don't forget Ockeroid's K.O.L.M., and all of the Creeper Worlds, especially the latest installment, Arc Eternal, by Finn MK.
  12. Purple - Twilight, can teleport Blue - Trixie, can turn invisible Green - Gestalt/Mosaic, can form shields
  13. The tie-in is in chapter 2 (unwritten, unposted). 20 years before FoE, Red Eye kills his entire stable, except for one last Security pony -need name-. The alicorns, Blue, Purple, and Green, then kill him in a blood sacrifice, in order to bring back the one who knows of the location of the Black Book, Starswirl the Bearded.
  14. This thread is now for the elements of Chaos and the tale of Perfect Timing ONLY. For any more Mordor-themed ideas, please view my NEW thread, Fallout: Equestria - Shadow of Everfree. Thanks!
  15. -Redirected from my Elements of Chaos thread- WARNING: this is very much not entirely mine; this fanfic is largely based on the video game Shadow of Mordor, but (obviously), completely pony-fied! No copyright infringement intended. Enjoy! Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria: A famed unicorn mage, legendary in his own lifetime, is approached by the ruler of a distant land to the north, a land of crystal and ice. This king, this unicorn king, brings a gift for our mage: a hat. A hat of the finest materials, fitting only for a king. In exchange for 'so fine a gift', the celebrated spellcaster grants Sombra an audience. The two sit and talk for many long hours, until they can reach an agreement: the mage will craft for Sombra a heart, a Crystal Heart, which will be used to defend his empire and keep it safe from the ravages of the north. The two meet in secret, in the crystal caverns beneath where Canterlot would eventually be built, and there, the Crystal Heart is carved. The two part as friends, Sombra headed home with his new treasure, and Starswirl the Bearded off on another adventure. When he returns from his latest exploits, Starswirl has possesses something new, something completely unheard of in all the lands: the Black Book. The book is evil, he knows this, and so to keep it from falling into the wrong hooves, he hides it away where nopony will ever find it, until he can safely find a way to destroy the thing. When he gets back to his castle, Starswirl discovers the Two Sisters waiting there for him, with horrific news: Sombra, once thought to be an ally, has revealed himself to be evil, and has found a heretofore unknown source of arcane power, which is allowing him to bend not only his own Crystal Empire, but also the greater part of Equestria to his twisted will. Mortified, Starswirl confesses to his two closest friends that he had helped Sombra to create the Crystal Heart, in an effort to help cleanse the land and make it safe for everypony. Just then, Sombra bursts into the castle, and in an unimaginable display of power, throws the Sisters to opposite ends of the Great Hall, rendering them unconcious, and grabs Starswirl, kidnapping him back to the Crystal empire. There, Sombra uses the power of the Crystal Heart to read Starswirl's mind, and forces him to teach the power-mad tyrant everything he knows. Among other things, Sombra learns of the Black Book, and forces the poor mage to reveal its location. Starswirl does this, but in a very roundabout way, causing Sombra to be gone for more than a week, searching for it 'National Treasure' style. While the king is absent, Starswirl breaks free of his prison and begins teaching the Crystal Ponies how to properly use the Crystal Heart. Sadly, just as they are going to truly purge the land, Sombra returns, full of dark magic, his eyes burning with flames, possessed by the power he learned from the Black Book. Outraged at what he sees, Sombra kills Starswirl right there on the spot, and then, using his newfound power, he hides the Crystal Heart where nopony would ever find it. -cut to the video 'The Fall of the Crystal Empire'- End part 1
  16. Actually, I have an active forum thread going on, featuring my latest (first) story, and the elements of Chaos. Check it out! Much obliged.
  17. Well, SoM already has both SATS and EFS, so that kind of ties in... And I'm utterly THRILLED that you think it's doing good so far. This story is far from finished, and I hope for a lot more development.
  18. Ah yes, that's right. I just wanted to give dear old Canterlot a break. Its used so often as the center of unicorn society, that one megaspell, and bye-bye unicorns. Also, I know its uplifting, I know the whole story, all of the characters, etc. But whenever I read it, or start to think of it, I start to feel like my chest is full of molasses, just overall sick. I don't want to think of the Mane 6 that way.I just...don't.
  19. The name: yes, it could certainly use some work, although it WILL contain 'General'. The story here is that Chrysalis sent out a team of soldiers to capture a unicorn mage, whom they then used in a semi-botched attempt to enhance their army. The result was a squadron of changelings that could assume any shapre and form (Mustalso spends the first part of the story disguised as Boulder, Maud's pet rock.) It bears similarities, but does NOT take place in FoE canon. Do you even need to ask?! Starswirl the Bearded; the ONLY major character in all of Equestrian history! True, but Filli Vanilli: baby steps. Good point: I have too much on my plate. 1. the Mordor thing is more of an allusion, (although the more I think of it, if somepony actually DID do a mod on SoM with some random pony being inhabited byStarswirl the Bearded, capturing/fighting through ranks of Ghouls, and ultimately facing off (and, duh, losing) against Red Eye in a 'Bright Lord-style campaign, it would be totally EPIC!) 2. No wai in HELL am I doing my own take on FoE (except for one tiny story that I'm rather undecided about...but I digress). It is way too dark, and totally ruins a good show, even if it IS one of the best things I've ever read (including 20.5, he he he 'clop, clop'), I SO wish I could erase it from my mind... 'Too many moving parts, but no real substance' which brings me to my last point: Awful Timing and Impeccable Taste met at Awful's trial for attempted burglary of a quarter of a million bits from Appleoosa's bank (the yearly apple harvest was good). She was on jury duty, he was on the stand, and when their eyes met: sparks flew. After a short trial, Awful was found guilty, and sentenced to 15 years in the Canterlot royal dungeons. Impeccable wrote him the first letter (he didn't know her name), and the two kept up a correspondence for 12 years, until he was released early for good behavior. Impeccable's family did not, and in fact never had, approve(d) of them being together, so she disowned her family, married Awful, and took his name. They moved to -location undecided-, where they could leave happy, if not simple, lives. 2 years later, she gave birth to Perfect, a healthy baby boy. When he was 6, they took a family trip to Canterlot, where, among other things, they saw the statue of Discord; but his parents ushered him out of the Gardens when 3 school fillies on a field trip broke out in a fight over the statue's meaning. By this age, he was already showing an incredible innate talent for sleight-of-hoof-and-wing, always grabbing small baubles and trinkets, for which he would be constantly reprimanded by his parents, especially his father, who didn't want Perfect going down the same paths in life (although Perfect had no idea of his father's past). While on the trip, Impeccable started to realize just how much she had missed high-society life (being a native-born Manehattanite unicorn, from a very wealthy family), and so started to make plans to move back home with her new family. But her parents still refused to accept awful, him being an ex-convict, even though they welcomed Perfect with open hooves. Outraged, Awful refuses to go, and makes Impeccable choose: her oold family, or her new one. She asks why she can't take their son with her, and he explains (yells, screams, maybe cries a little?) that he thought she loved him, he thought she was happy, how could she do this, she's not taking his son from him! "I gave up the couds for you!" (Nimbucity, hometown) "I haven't been home in 20 years!" -"And who's fault is that?" "But we were happy1 We loved each other, we had a child! Doesn't that mean ANYTHING to you?" -"It means I made a mistake. It means I should have listened to my family" "Are you saying you regret marrying me?" -hurt- "You regret our son? Look at bhim! He's sitting right here, and you say that you regret him!?" -"Don't twist my words! Of course I don't! I love him, and I love you." "Then why not stay?" -"Look at this house." "What about it? I know it isn't not perfect, but it's alright. It's home. Isn't that what matters?" -"But is this how Perfect should be raised, in near-poverty?" "Perfect, go to your room please." -Perfect get up, leaves the table silently, flies up the stairs. Silent prayer: "Please, let this end well." "We are not in poverty. We get by just fine. And you don't need to be filling his head with this. Let him be a kid a while longer, huh?" -"Paycheck-to-paycheck is not 'fine'. Look, if I take him with me back to Manehattan-" "You talk like its already been decided." -"Awful..." "So that's it: end of discussion?" -"I've made up my mind." Well, you're not taking him. He's a pegasus, he needs to be among others of his own kind. He needs to be in the clouds. Manehattan is a city of unicorns, he would never fit in!" -"It was founded by unicorns. We're not the only species there anymore." "9 out of 10 ponies there are unicorns and you know it. That's far too many. Look, if you choose to leave, and I strongly suggest you reconsider, then I'm going back home, to Nimbucity, and I'm taking perfect with me. I'll take this court if I have to, but he will not go to Manehattan. You've made your decisio, not I've made mine." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goes on a bit more, maybe? In the end, they decide to jointly sell the house, and remain legally married, although now seperated. Upon arrival in Nimbucity, Perfect discovers that pegasi have to be careful walking around: step too hard, and you could punch right through the cloud layer, into the open air below. He's not afraid of heights, but he is absolutely terrified at the prospect of falling. When he was just a foal, before his wings had fully developed, his father would sometimes take him for long flights, just the two of them, on little 'adventures'. One day, when they were particularly high up, Perfect decided that this would be a good time to see if he could fly yet. It took almost 2 minutes (an eternity), for Awful to catch him. They kept that little mishap just to themselves, a shared father-son guy moment, and never told Impeccable. So now, even though he knows that if he were to fall, he could simply spread his wings and catch himself, the very idea horrifies him to no end, which greatly reduces his flying manouverablity.. As soon as he can, he moves out of the clouds (10 years later), and settle on the ground. Not that the inhabitants of Nimbucity were particularly upset to see him go; he had spent plenty of time getting lectures from local shopkeepers and residents alike about the errors of stealing. He's a petty thief, a kleptomaniac halfbreed, so his wings aren't as developed as other pegasi; they form hollows against his body where he holds (usually stolen) items. Not a strong flier, he prefers to walk. His other, unicorn half, shows in a small, barely noticeable bump on his forehead (he is very self-consious about it), and can only perform 2 spells: the unicorn-default telekinesis (very weak, can only lift up to around 10lbs.), and -spell needed- So, what do you think? Also, I need a name for this story...
  20. Well, so far, I have what I believe to be the definitive Elements of Chaos. What people tend to forget is that they are not the opposites of the Elements of Harmony, but their own individual set. I have: Discord: spark Awful Timing: pegasus/unicorn hybrid, kleptomaniac, element of Theivery. Trixie Lulamoon, unicorn, element of Ego. Cosmic Joke, (species undecided), Las Pegas loan shark, element of Cruelty (imagine a modern-day FoE raider). General Mustalso, changeling, Chrysalis army deserter, unicorn-enhanced supersoldier, element of Deception. Maud Pie, earth pony, element of Apathy/Indifference. Nutty Bar, female unicorn mage, schizophrenic, element of Insanity. Now, this is not official, and I believe it will take place in modern-day Equestria. The whole Mordor tie-in will mostly be abilities and enemies, but might also include a Celebrimbor-like spirit. What I'm thinking is that I may do this Avengers-style, and have a separate story, or series of stories, that details each character, and then eventually do an official Elements of Chaos story. For now, I think I will focus on Perfect Timing, petty thief, and half-breed son of Awful Timing (ex-convict Appleoosa robber) and Impeccable Timing (maiden name Taste, unicorn, Manehattanite high-society mare). If you have any ideas, please respond!
  21. Nonono, these. Are the elements of Chaos, not the direct opposite of Harmony! Wrath, Thievery, Deceit, Mess, Ego, and Chaos! The trick is getting them to be able to effectively work together, Chaos doesn't do that too well. Also, Discord is the Spark. I'm actually writing a rather long story on it.
  22. Writing a fanfic (my 1st one), and it is loosely based on FoE and Shadow of Mordor. I could use some help, if you would be so kind.
