  1. @Blitz Boom @Moonlit @Widdershins Charlie is basically like a ghost possessing a stick. They are attached to the stick at all times, but can manifest themself in a non corporeal form of their choice. They can't move anything though, which is why they still need a body (there's no telling how long the stick will be able to contain Charlie before the soul returns to the Realm of Dreams).
  2. @Blitz Boom @Moonlit @Widdershins I feel like Serenade is likely to be the first to notice the time shift if it's night and the sky is clear. Just saying.
  3. @Blitz Boom I was under the impression that the idea was that they already walked through the draconequus gate without realizing it, but it's all very confusing, which is the point of chaos magic, right?
  4. @Blitz Boom @Moonlit @Widdershins Are any of you going to address Charlie's yelling in the castle?
  5. @Blitz Boom "We'll be on our way then. These counterfeiters aren't going to catch themselves!" Penny said, enthusiastically. "There are a few ponies I'd like to talk to as well. What do you say we split up and meet back at my place at sunset? Then the two of us can go over our findings together and figure out where to look next." @Blitz Boom Marcus Silvermane stepped out onto the balcony of the temple and announced quite unexpectedly (nopony even knew there would be an announcement in the first place), "Now that I've had the time to rest, we shall properly celebrate my victory against The Forgotten One! Tonight we feast! We must be sure to invite other heroes as well. The world has changed greatly in my absence, so I have much to learn in the ways of modern battle, and I must begin planning my next mission, one worthy of a hero of my stature." @Blitz Boom @Widdershins @Moonlit "Leave me ALONE!" Charlie shouted at their echo, having grown tired of its mimicry. @Blitz Boom "If you'll please just follow my lead," Gaea said, sounding a little irritated. She really didn't like being proven wrong, but she'd have to set that aside for now, because there were more important things to take care of. She led the way deeper into the forest to her home, but as they got closer, the trees looked weaker and weaker. By the time they got there, they were surrounded in almost leafless, sagging, sick trees. There was one however that stood above the rest. It was a large tree whose roots held it high off the ground. One of the roots led straight to a doorway, although there was no door to be seen. "This is what happened to my home when those thieves stole the Heart of the Forest. Without the Heart, life in the forest is slowly fading away."
  6. @Blitz Boom @Battenberg I was thinking it might be fun to bring Penny and Scarcity's investigation to Battenberg's bakery, and the dynamic would be quite interesting. Penny owns a chocolate shop so she would relate well with Battenberg, and Scarcity has the kind of attitude that can either clash with Victoria or make them good friends depending on how things go. What do you think?
  7. @Widdershins If you can come up with something more chaotic, such as having them be in an alternate universe, by all means, go for it. We can write it in retroactively to affect Ziggy and Serenade as they originally fell through the floor so that it doesn't interrupt what's already going on. Or maybe everyone that enters the castle is being brought back in time by about a century? It could work.
  8. @Widdershins I was thinking it might be a good idea to either bring Charlie into the future or bring Moonlit and Ziggy back in time to when Charlie is. It might be easier to bring them back because there are time sensitive events surrounding Charlie (specifically the body Vivid is working on for them). They can easily be brought back to the future later, but it would be a lot harder for Vivid to follow if Charlie is brought forward. Also, to clarify, Charlie was a magical tree which exploded as it was being cut down, becoming a dream spirit and accidentally possessing Briar. Charlie then got a different perspective of the world and decided they wanted to explore it if possible. Charlie left Briar and passed on to the Dream Realm, made a deal with Vivid for a body, was possessed by a demon, then became tethered to a stick that used to be a part of them. In short, Charlie is a dream spirit on a stick. P.S. If it wasn't already clear, Charlie is genderless and therefore goes by the "they, them, their" pronouns.
  9. @Widdershins May I request some temporal distortion on your part? Since you have a part in the castle of the two sisters with @Moonlitand @Blitz Boom, it would allow me to have Charlie join the group even though he's in an earlier part of the timeline. (I meant to post this earlier, but I must not have hit Submit). I'll be posting more at another time.
  10. @Blitz Boom "That seems likely," Gaea said sarcastically, clearly not believing Zhu. She would then be pushed out of the way by Zhu's wind magic. She got up quickly and shouted at him, "Are you trying to kill me?! And what about Skippy here?!" pointing at the squirrel as she did. She clearly knew the squirrel. "You'd really put him in harm's way just to convince me you can see the future?! Clearly you used that wind magic of yours to break the branch! What's wrong with you?!" The squirrel came back out of the bushes and chattered away to Gaea, and it was clear that she could understand him. *chit chitter chit chit chitter* "Yes." *chitter chit chitter chitter chit chitter* "Oh... really?" *chitter chit chit chitter chit chatter* "I suppose you're right." *chit chit* "Bye Skippy," she said as the squirrel ran off. "He told me he didn't feel any wind before the branch fell, and that it was already feeling a bit weak before it snapped. He also pointed out that you saved me and said that I should give you a chance." @Blitz Boom with possibly @Moonlit and @Widdershins if temporal phenomena are involved. "This should be fine," Charlie answered, then thought for a moment. "I've never been alone before. I wonder if I'll like it. Anyway, goodbye! See you later!" Once Vivid left, Charlie would start to grow bored. At least in the forest there was a lot of life around to watch, or whatever you might call it when a tree sensed the things around it. Thinking they heard a noise, Charlie called out, "Hello?" and it was echoed back, "Hello?" "Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you." "You seem friendly." "You seem friendly." "What's your name?" "What's your name?" "I asked first! "I asked first!" "No I did!" "No I did!" This kept on going for a while, with Charlie not understanding the concept of an echo.
  11. I'm still alive everyone, in case you were wondering. I'm going to try to get back to posting tomorrow. I would post right now, but I'm too exhausted.
  12. Recap of my first day at my first Bronycon: Played a game of Magic the Gathering at an MLP CCG event, watched someone propose on stage, have a homeless guy a sandwich (he had never heard of marshmallow fluff before), and got a totally free meal because I didn't get my fod until everyone else was done with theirs.  Let's see what happens tomorrow!

Nice, never a boring moment at bronycon it seems. :)

  13. My posts may be a bit delayed. I'm leaving for Bronycon in the morning and won't be back until Monday. There is the slight chance I'll find time to post from my phone while I'm there though.
  14. I've been a bit inactive for a little too long...  I think I'll start a new topic regarding conventions.

Thanks for the warm welcome back.  I can't seem to figure out where to post about conventions in general.  I want to discuss planning and packing.

  15. I'm currently considering wether or not to bring Hunter back as one of the heroes Marcus will be traveling with. We'll see.
  16. @Blitz Boom "I only know what I've seen, and from what I've seen, they're rotten. If you want a better understanding of what they took, and why I'll stop at nothing to get it back, you'll have to follow me. Otherwise, you should just leave." Gaea started heading off into the forest, toward her home, without taking the trinkets from Zhu. @Blitz Boom "Let's get this investigation rolling then. I'll start making calls to the local banks and the like. If they have any of these bits, they need to be taken out of circulation immediately. Who knows? Maybe there's some evidence to be collected from them as well. You said you have a few friends who might be able to help with the investigation, right? Any information you can provide us with will help point us in the right direction." The detective then turned toward Penny and added, "Thanks for coming to me with this Penny. It was always one of the cases that I regretted having never solved." @Blitz Boom "That's very generous of them, giving up their spare parts when they're done with them. It reminds me a lot of my own kind. We know what our wood is being used for, and we're okay with it. It's better than being eaten by terrormites," said Charlie, naive as always.
  17. @Blitz Boom Capture and punishment seems a bit too dark for the cult. In order for the story I have planned to work, the cultists need to be good ponies, trustworthy and kind, even if their methods seem a little extreme. The idea that they would give everything and would encourage others to do the same may be dark in its own way, but it's also noble. It would still make sense for Belladonna to have left and to not want to talk about the cult, and even wanting to get her brother out of it. I realize that defining it as a cult may seem like a negative term, but it's not meant in a negative way. I probably should have clarified that earlier. I feel like a strong focus on the tales and legends would help sway newcomers, especially if they're constantly being shared, even while working. The work would go much faster that way, and seem less like work. The tales would include a combination of powerful battle magic, hoof to hoof combat, and strategic planning. If it's easier to base the stories in mythology, be my guest. If you want to start off with a post showing the new initiates around, I feel it would be a good way to start. It'll give @Tilgoreth a chance to join in if the situation is suitable. What do you think @Tilgoreth, will this idea work for you?
  18. @Blitz Boom I like the idea, and my character's reaction will depend on how it's presented in the RP. I finally came up with a name: Marcus Silvermane.
  19. @Blitz Boom I think that could work. T-Sparks doesn't seem like a character that would stick around long in the cult, but as a new initiate it might make a bit more sense, so it's up to @Tilgorethwether or not they'll join that way. I'll give you control over how the millennia will have warped the cult's practices. The beginnings of the cult would involve knowledge of healing magics as well as power restoration and the transference of magic. There would also be some magic involved in preparing weapons and other gear to face certain types of enemies. Merely polishing his armor would have been considered an honor. The cult however would have always stayed away from combat. They mostly prepared him for his travels and were there to help him recover when he returned. An important part of all of this would be passing down the stories of his heroics. He would usually travel with other accomplished heroes. He almost always escaped nearly unscathed. Many of the heroes he fought alongside who were injured would have been brought back to the sanctuary to be healed, and would tell tales of how he had saved their lives, vanquishing their enemies in the process. It would often be recorded which Hero told the tale (not any canon heroes because the time he is from doesn't line up with any that have been mentioned). I've decided to wait until tomorrow to post. Maybe then I'll be able to post for the Hero as well (I haven't come up with a name yet, so I'll properly introduce him in the next post).
  20. I'm not in charge here, @Blitz Boom is. If he allows you to join the RP as a whole, I'm sure we can work something out for you to join my storyline (we have a few separate stories going that occasionally intersect), however, the characters that are needed for that particular storyline are cultists devoted to an ancient hero, and other heroes, so I'm not sure how T-Sparks would fit in there...
  21. @Widdershins and everyone else for that matter. The scene with the Kitsune was mostly to get the ball rolling. The character served his purpose (at least for the time being) and that story evolved to join other characters, which meant my presence there was no longer required. Lately I've had a lot of early morning shifts at work, which leaves me too exhausted to post when I get home. I'll be trying to work my way back into the RP, but my posts may be a bit slow for a while. @ the group as a whole If anyone wants to play the parts of the ponies from what I call, "The Cult of the Hero," I could use some help with that. I feel I wouldn't be able to create enough independent thoughts within a group like that if I controlled them all. Their purpose is to assist the Hero who had returned with the defeat of The Forgotten One. Tales would have been passed down through their families of his heroic acts, some of which may have changed as the stories were retold many times (basically, you can make up your own stories about the Hero, but wether or not they're "true" will be determined in the RP). I could also use some Heroes for him to join, and missions for them to accomplish. I will however have to "godmod" in some of these scenarios, the full details of which will be revealed in the RP when the time comes. For the sake of simplifying the scene where the Hero returns, which I have already posted, any cultists you choose to play as will not have been there to witness his return, but will be informed of his return. I'll try to post tomorrow if I can.
  22. @Blitz Boom "Oh great, you're 'clairvoyant' and you have a God complex," Gaea said, exaggerating the word, "clairvoyant," to show she still didn't believe him. "You're not going to find them. We'll have to wait until tomorrow night. They strike caravans under the shroud of darkness to avoid confrontation. If you ask me, their just cowards. I've been trying to get something back that they stole, but they keep getting away." Skye and Brooke were both wearing their pendants now, so the tracking spell would be useless. @Blitz Boom "He kept his face well concealed from the descriptions we got. He had a brown handlebar moustache which I believe was fake, though not many others share that opinion. He wore large silver lensed sun glasses, and a baseball cap. His coat was a light blue, but nopony could tell us the color of his mane. The tail however was black, but a professional would have dyed it that way. He went by the name of Silvester Stallion, which was of course fabricated. Also, according to those he talked to, he sounded a lot younger than he looked." @Blitz Boom "It looks exactly how I had envisioned it! Your friend is really good at making bodies. Wait, doesn't this look a little familiar?" Charlie paused for a short moment, obviously trying to remember where they had seen the face before. Before there was even enough time to respond though, Charlie continued, "Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually. How much longer do you think? Will I have to eat? If I do, what do I eat? Do I eat leaves like the bugs? Or do I eat bugs like birds do? Or maybe I eat birds like the cats do? Do I eat cats? I wonder what cats taste like."
  23. For me, the forums went down just as I was about to start typing. I'll try to post tomorrow.
