  1. @@Blitz Boom In early Ponyville A smile grew across Penny Picker's face as The Traveler rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. Penny knelt down to open the lower door of her cart, noticed she hadn't put the brake on and corrected that. She then took a rather large sack of berries out of the bottom of her cart to give to Zhu. "That'll be eight bits," she said cheerfully, happy to be getting a good first sale in the newly constructed Ponyville. "And now you know how one word out of place can change everything. We can either try again, or I can fix this later, but I have a feeling you'll want to see this through. This time should lead to an even worse accident that will prevent the existence of certain relatives that one of the bearers of the Elements of Harmony stayed with just before earning her cutie mark, therefore dooming all of Equestria. Don't worry though, I can always go back. Well, almost always." @@Widdershins, Granny Smith kept wandering around, banging the pots together to scare off the Timberwolves, while Big Mac approached Ambie. "Good, you're up. I made a promise to a friend that I'd get his logs delivered today, but with the Zapapple harvest coming, and us having to teach Applejack's friends, that's gonna have to fall on you. I need you to take the large cart from the barn to the edge of the Everfree Forest, load the loose logs into it, and bring the logs to Filthy Rich in town. There should be six logs." @@Blitz Boom In the Dream Halls Rattling could be heard on the other side of the door as the elevator came up to the door. Ding. The doors slid open, revealing a fancy, old style elevator with wood paneling. With this kind of elevator, you might expect there would be an attendant, but there wasn't. Instead there was just the sound of your typical elevator music. Charlie got in quickly, and if Vivid came in and pressed the button, they would begin their slow descent. @@Lloyd "...that's the only thing that's sold here." The thought of what was just said echoed in Blossom's mind for a moment. She got up and climbed onto the counter revealing herself to actually be a young filly not much older than the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Her voice made her sound a bit older than she were, but not unbelievably so. "We sell much more than just chocolate. We have lollipops, gum drops, candy buttons, rock candy, cotton candy, peanut brittle, peppermints, butterscotch, raspberry twists...". She just kept going and going, listing all kinds of non chocolate candies, pointing to them as she did. You name it, they had it. @@Blitz Boom In the streets of Canterlot Penny was unphased by Brick Wall's reaction. She had tested her chocolates enough times where she had seen all kinds of reactions. She had gotten used to it. "Honestly, it's not that far. Although I can always manage to find my way back to the shop, I don't know the area well enough that I'd find my way back here once I got there, so I had to use my teleporting chocolates. They save the location you teleport from so the next piece can send you back. It's part of a marketing strategy where I give these out to shops in the area who then give them to customers looking for a good place to buy some sweets. So far, I've only given them to one shop, a Café in Ponyville. It also comes in handy for deliveries."
  2. Gnyt everyone. I had fun streaming Pokémon Blue tonight, getting through catching and leveling up a caterpie to a level 12 butterfree to take down Brock and his "minion" in one fell swoop. Looking forward to doing this again next week.

  3. I'll be streaming Pokémon Blue after I shower and eat

  4. I may be streaming Pokémon Blue in an hour or two. I'll post again once the stream is up.

  5. @@Widdershins, (The day The Forgotten One attacks Ponyville) ((We'll catch up quickly)) Early in the morning, before the sun would rise and before the rooster's call, everyone at Sweet Apple Acres would be awoken by the sound of pots banging together, if the sound of Timberwolves hadn't already woken them like it had Granny Smith. As per the norm, she was banging the pots together shouting, "The Timberwolves are howling! The Timberwolves are howling!" Wiping the tiredness out of her eyes, Applejack replied, "I'll go get the others. They said they'd wanna lend us a hoof the next time we'd get a Zapapple harvest," and with that, she got her hat and was out the door. Big Mac however was preparing for the day's work. @@Blitz Boom "We'll have to go back because any other changes we make will ripple outward. This is a vital moment, with little room for error. This time, balance the bit on her nose before taking the berries, then throw one of the berries at my eye." Only moments after the Traveler spoke, they would be back where they were on the hill, with the Earth Pony approaching like before. "You two look like you could use a snack. Might I interest you in some nuts or berries?" @@Lloyd @@Blitz Boom "I'm just stopping in to grab some assortments. I made a sale already. I'll be right back if I can get the buyer to come back with me. Please take care of our guest while I'm gone," Penny said to the Unicorn mare behind the counter who had a green coat and a bright yellow mane in two pigtails that reached down below the edge of the counter where nopony could see the ends. "Yes ma'am," she responded with a voice that sounded both sweet and sophisticated. Penny then took out another bit shaped chocolate and ate it, teleporting herself back to where she and her guest teleported from to meet with the antiques dealer. ((Yes, they had teleported after eating the chocolates. I probably could have communicated that better.))

  9. @@Blitz Boom The salesmare took the bit, then turned to go back to her cart just as Zhu spilled the berries. It was already too late for the berries to distract her since she had already seen her cart beginning to pick up speed. She dropped the bit she was holding and galloped downhill, chasing after her cart as it sped toward one of the spots the builder was planning to construct the clock tower. At the bottom of the hill, she finally caught up to it, grabbing the pulling harness in her mouth and skidding to a stop. "That didn't exactly go as planned. Now the tower will eventually land on the school, and miss Penny Picker here will continue her journey, ending up in Manehattan where she'll have a terrible accident. I know because I've seen this happen many times. Trial and error is the only way I am able to alter destiny. Would you like to try again?" @@Lloyd @@Blitz Boom He ((Lloyd's character whose name I can't quite remember right now)) would immediately begin to feel a comfortable warmth flowing through his body as if he was cocooned in heated blankets and drinking hot cocoa. "Yes, it's twelve bits per thirty count box. In the shop you can get two pieces for a bit as well. I need to get more boxes for her order, so if you want to see the shop you can come with me," Penny said as she levitated two identical bit shaped chocolates out of her bag, floating one over to him and keeping one near herself. If he'd eat it, so would she eat hers, and they would both find themselves at her candy store, which was filled with many different types of candy and chocolates including everything from licorice to lollipops. There were chocolates shaped like flowers, some that actually were flowers dipped in chocolate, there were candy apples, many bins of sorted flavored of jelly beans, nonpareils, rock candy, and just about any other kind of candy you could imagine. The shop itself was fairly small for having such a wide selection, but not to the point where it was cramped.

  11. @@Blitz Boom "One moment," the salespony said before getting a scoop and filling a serving box with fresh berries, then presented it to Zhu. "That'll be one bit, sir," she added. Just then, while her back was turned on her cart, it started to roll ever so slowly down the hill, not fast enough that the salespony would notice yet. @@Lloyd @@Blitz Boom "Each thirty count box is twelve bits, which would bring the total of twelve boxes to a hundred and forty four bits, but I'd be willing to offer a significant discount for such a large order. How about we call it one twenty and make it a baker's dozen?" Penny's sales tactics were simple, get them interested then give them a deal that's too good to refuse. Her chocolates were already extremely cheap for what they did, although they were still priced above the cost of the average everyday chocolates. Penny's reaction to the Pegasus was as polite as she could be, saying, "That's the warming chocolate, and I'll explain it to you fully as soon as the two of us finish discussing a transaction, though if you'd rather let the chocolate do the talking, everypony gets one free sample."

  13. @@P-Jay @@Blitz Boom Now in the dream halls, Charlie led the way toward Dr. Xeno's door. It wasn't far away, but something was off. There wasn't a doorknob. Instead, on the wall next to the door was a button like you would see next to an elevator. There was only one direction: down. "This isn't good. He must be on a deeper level of consciousness. You can expect excessive realism. Things in there will provoke much stronger emotion than normal. It has been described to me as 'beyond real' by my instructors. It's safer to go in as a group as we won't all experience the same emotions and can use that to pull each other through. I'm sorry, but our little adventure just turned into a rescue mission," Charlie said in a serious tone. Then cheerfully turning to look up toward Vivid, Charlie added, "This could be fun." There was also an assumption that Vivid would press the button, because she was closer.

  15. I've used some of the information here to calculate a range of values based on the price of a bushel of apples as priced straight from the farmers who grow them. I'm using the price of a bushel of apples because we can assume the cost isn't as affected by transportation costs as the other possible items. I'm not calculating the cost of an individual apple, but rather the cost of bundles in both worlds, because buying in bulk usually means there is a good discount, so dividing into individual apples does not give an accurate value. The price of a bushel in Equestria is between 4 and 8 bits. The prices in America can range from $10 to as high as $72 from what I can find. $16 seems more reasonable to some of the people that were discussing it, so that is the value I'll focus on for my own uses of bits in RPs. With these prices, the range is somewhere between $1.25 and $9 if a bushel is worth 8 bits, and between $2.50 and $18 if it's worth 4 bits, which is a very wide range of values, but at $16 a bushel, 1 bit = $2 to $4. The price of the cherry can be disregarded due to the fact that it was the last cherry and cherries aren't local. The other prices all seem reasonable at the $2 per bit value with 3 tomatoes being between $2 an $4, and an apple pie being $4, as is an apple fritter, and a mug of apple cider. I also think $6 for a bag of apples seems fair. 1bit = @$2 P.S. I realize that this is an old thread, but the information here helped me reach a conclusion, so it's only fair that I share it here. P.P.S. I just did some extra research, and that pricing actually seems to match the price of tomatoes as well, where three tomatoes generally weigh a pound, and a pound of tomatoes can go for $3 to $4. P.P.P.S. I made some corrections because I was mixing up my numbers and somehow I was calculating from the 8 bit value when I'd typed only the 4 bit value. I like to imagine that the 8 bit value is more accurate to the value of a bushel because Granny might be strict about the prices in Ponyville, and she might not be keeping with the times. Applejack imagines selling a bushel for 8 bits because she likely believes that's what it's worth. I know that if it were anypony else, it would be likely that they would imagine selling at a higher price than it's worth, but Applejack is the Element of Honesty and would likely only imagine selling it for what it's worth.

  17. @@Blitz Boom @@Denim&Venom Seamore finished cutting through the tree, yelled the usual, "Timber!" in a less enthusiastic manner than usual (only as a warning the tree was coming down) and the tree fell away from everypony. There was still a bit more to cut away to finish getting Miles' horn out of the tree, but at least now there would be less risk. As Seamore prepared to make the final cuts, Miles twitched and let out a slight fearful moan as if he was having a bad dream he couldn't wake up from. He stopped cutting and looked toward the doctor with an expression that would ask without the need for words wether or not he should continue. @@Blitz Boom "When she comes, buy some of the berries from the salesmare, but spill them and use none of your magic. What happens afterward must happen," The Traveler spoke into Zhu's mind. Right on queue, a young Earth Pony mare with a tan coat and a frizzy, light pink mane approached pulling a cart of nuts and berries. Her cutie mark was much like the assortment in her cart, so it was clearly the trade she was meant for. There was an uncanny resemblance to Penny Buttercup, as this was her grandmother. "You two look like you could use a snack. Might I interest you in some nuts or berries?" @@Blitz Boom @@Lloyd "Chocolates tend to last a long time, but even so, I've had to resort to enchanting the boxes to keep the fillings and enchantments fresh, so in the box they should last indefinitely. I also took extra measures and the box will prevent you from taking any chocolates that won't work with anything that's already affecting you, so the effects are 100% guaranteed. How many you can have, and how long they last is truly dependent on your metabolism, but most last all day, though I do always include cancellation chocolates in case you decide you want the effect to end early. I also have built in safeguards for some including a warning before the effects end, and in the event that the wings disappear mid air, the user will drift slowly toward the ground instead of falling. Cloud walking is also included in those chocolates, as it only made sense to add it anyway." Penny knew her craft well, and the way she spoke would clearly show it. "If you'd like to try a free sample, I think I have the perfect chocolate for you, too." She levitated a piece of chocolate shaped like a lemon slice out of the box, the top of which had a layer of yellow colored chocolate on it. "It's a purification chocolate, which should help with the Tanzanite in your necklace, and like the silver, its magic is associated with the moon and water. Since it has the same attunements, maybe it can add its energy to the energy from your jewelry and help it enhance your psychic awareness." Throughout her Canterlot education, Penny always liked the study of gemstones as sort of a second hobby.
  18. @@Blitz Boom @@Denim&Venom "Seeing as this isn't a bone saw, I don't think it would do a good job at that even if that was my plan," Seamore said with a slight grin. "I have the tree notched to fall away from us when I cut it down. It'll be safer to cut the tree than to pull on him until either his neck breaks or his horn snaps. Anyway, I should probably tell you what's going on. Originally, he was zapped by one of the Everwood trees and was unconscious. That's when we sent for help, but he eventually got up and started running... straight into this tree, knocking himself out again. I couldn't say wether or not he was fully conscious before it happened, so he may be 'out of body' still, as I'm aware is a possibility with Everwood." Seamore continued what he was doing, beginning to cut into the tree. He was cutting slowly as to not cause the tree to come down too quickly and possibly cause the tree to split in a way that could hurt Dr.Xeno. @@Blitz Boom "Continue to watch his fates as we walk, and you will see how simple it is to change fate, but know that I have learned what to do by trial and error, and I have seen the same events unfold many times, and in many different ways," The Traveler said, walking toward a hill. At the top of the hill, as the sun began to set, the Traveler sat down casting a shadow into town. The builder was about to choose a spot for the clock tower, but the change in lighting changed his plans. His future would now show paths with much more catostrophic outcomes. One future would show The Forgotten One crushing his enemies with the weight of the tower. Another would show the tower falling on the school while class was in session. None of the outcomes seemed good. @@P-Jay @@Blitz Boom "The signal is unusually strong right now, and I sense his fear. Right this way." Charlie opened a porthole style window in the ground. It was small, too small for Vivid or her other guest, but big enough for Charlie to skitter through without even considering that the others might have trouble with it. It was a dream after all, they should be able to figure it out on their own. @@Lloyd @@Blitz Boom @anypony else in Canterlot Out in the streets of Canterlot, Penny Buttercup was levitating a sign that said "FREE SAMPLES" and an open box of chocolates.
