  1. @@Widdershins The lumber is actually several uncut logs resting on the ground outside the Everfree Forest. I actually haven't created a character for the buyer yet, but I will by the time I need to add him/her into a post. If it's alright with @Blitz Boom, I can control Big Mac to make things easier. I could probably start with a typical everyday farm life style post, then maybe you can come in at some point.
  2. @@Blitz Boom What exactly do you mean when you say Zhu "did what was asked of him"? Did he hand over the bit, or did he drop the berries? @@Widdershins If Ambie does end up working for the Apple family, Big Mac has recently been given the task of finishing a lumber sale for one of my characters, as something else came up. The lumber is at the edge of the Everfree Forest, and it may make sense for Big Mac to delegate that responsibility to Ambie. I figure I might as well offer up this information in case you needed an idea to start with.
  3. @@Lloyd The effects should be the same for any non-transformative chocolates. If he ate one of the color change chocolates, it might force him back to changeling form before changing his color, although that's just a theory and if you have a better idea, it's really up to you (although, it can't cause any direct harm because Penny is careful to make her chocolates safe for everyone).
  4. @@Lloyd Just to clarify, as I see you may have misinterpreted the situation, Penny is giving out free samples of her chocolates from assortments in her saddlebags. She doesn't have a stand or baskets. Instead, she's levitating a box of chocolate and a sign that says, "Free Samples." . @@Blitz Boom I place the value of a bit around $2 (US) or 14.02 kroner (at least according to google currency converter from dollar to krone).
  5. @@Blitz Boom "One moment," the salespony said before getting a scoop and filling a serving box with fresh berries, then presented it to Zhu. "That'll be one bit, sir," she added. Just then, while her back was turned on her cart, it started to roll ever so slowly down the hill, not fast enough that the salespony would notice yet. @@Lloyd @@Blitz Boom "Each thirty count box is twelve bits, which would bring the total of twelve boxes to a hundred and forty four bits, but I'd be willing to offer a significant discount for such a large order. How about we call it one twenty and make it a baker's dozen?" Penny's sales tactics were simple, get them interested then give them a deal that's too good to refuse. Her chocolates were already extremely cheap for what they did, although they were still priced above the cost of the average everyday chocolates. Penny's reaction to the Pegasus was as polite as she could be, saying, "That's the warming chocolate, and I'll explain it to you fully as soon as the two of us finish discussing a transaction, though if you'd rather let the chocolate do the talking, everypony gets one free sample."

  7. @@P-Jay @@Blitz Boom Now in the dream halls, Charlie led the way toward Dr. Xeno's door. It wasn't far away, but something was off. There wasn't a doorknob. Instead, on the wall next to the door was a button like you would see next to an elevator. There was only one direction: down. "This isn't good. He must be on a deeper level of consciousness. You can expect excessive realism. Things in there will provoke much stronger emotion than normal. It has been described to me as 'beyond real' by my instructors. It's safer to go in as a group as we won't all experience the same emotions and can use that to pull each other through. I'm sorry, but our little adventure just turned into a rescue mission," Charlie said in a serious tone. Then cheerfully turning to look up toward Vivid, Charlie added, "This could be fun." There was also an assumption that Vivid would press the button, because she was closer.

The site is so mmmm, this is why.

  9. I've used some of the information here to calculate a range of values based on the price of a bushel of apples as priced straight from the farmers who grow them. I'm using the price of a bushel of apples because we can assume the cost isn't as affected by transportation costs as the other possible items. I'm not calculating the cost of an individual apple, but rather the cost of bundles in both worlds, because buying in bulk usually means there is a good discount, so dividing into individual apples does not give an accurate value. The price of a bushel in Equestria is between 4 and 8 bits. The prices in America can range from $10 to as high as $72 from what I can find. $16 seems more reasonable to some of the people that were discussing it, so that is the value I'll focus on for my own uses of bits in RPs. With these prices, the range is somewhere between $1.25 and $9 if a bushel is worth 8 bits, and between $2.50 and $18 if it's worth 4 bits, which is a very wide range of values, but at $16 a bushel, 1 bit = $2 to $4. The price of the cherry can be disregarded due to the fact that it was the last cherry and cherries aren't local. The other prices all seem reasonable at the $2 per bit value with 3 tomatoes being between $2 an $4, and an apple pie being $4, as is an apple fritter, and a mug of apple cider. I also think $6 for a bag of apples seems fair. 1bit = @$2 P.S. I realize that this is an old thread, but the information here helped me reach a conclusion, so it's only fair that I share it here. P.P.S. I just did some extra research, and that pricing actually seems to match the price of tomatoes as well, where three tomatoes generally weigh a pound, and a pound of tomatoes can go for $3 to $4. P.P.P.S. I made some corrections because I was mixing up my numbers and somehow I was calculating from the 8 bit value when I'd typed only the 4 bit value. I like to imagine that the 8 bit value is more accurate to the value of a bushel because Granny might be strict about the prices in Ponyville, and she might not be keeping with the times. Applejack imagines selling a bushel for 8 bits because she likely believes that's what it's worth. I know that if it were anypony else, it would be likely that they would imagine selling at a higher price than it's worth, but Applejack is the Element of Honesty and would likely only imagine selling it for what it's worth.

  11. I did assume that, but in a society of primarily unicorns, I would guess that such a trinket is likely to have magical properties, even if the wearer is unaware of them.
  12. @@Lloyd She's in the streets of Canterlot giving out free samples of her magic chocolates.
  13. @@Blitz Boom That post actually required a lot of research. I like to keep my magics authentic. 14. @@Blitz Boom @@Denim&Venom Seamore finished cutting through the tree, yelled the usual, "Timber!" in a less enthusiastic manner than usual (only as a warning the tree was coming down) and the tree fell away from everypony. There was still a bit more to cut away to finish getting Miles' horn out of the tree, but at least now there would be less risk. As Seamore prepared to make the final cuts, Miles twitched and let out a slight fearful moan as if he was having a bad dream he couldn't wake up from. He stopped cutting and looked toward the doctor with an expression that would ask without the need for words wether or not he should continue. @@Blitz Boom "When she comes, buy some of the berries from the salesmare, but spill them and use none of your magic. What happens afterward must happen," The Traveler spoke into Zhu's mind. Right on queue, a young Earth Pony mare with a tan coat and a frizzy, light pink mane approached pulling a cart of nuts and berries. Her cutie mark was much like the assortment in her cart, so it was clearly the trade she was meant for. There was an uncanny resemblance to Penny Buttercup, as this was her grandmother. "You two look like you could use a snack. Might I interest you in some nuts or berries?" @@Blitz Boom @@Lloyd "Chocolates tend to last a long time, but even so, I've had to resort to enchanting the boxes to keep the fillings and enchantments fresh, so in the box they should last indefinitely. I also took extra measures and the box will prevent you from taking any chocolates that won't work with anything that's already affecting you, so the effects are 100% guaranteed. How many you can have, and how long they last is truly dependent on your metabolism, but most last all day, though I do always include cancellation chocolates in case you decide you want the effect to end early. I also have built in safeguards for some including a warning before the effects end, and in the event that the wings disappear mid air, the user will drift slowly toward the ground instead of falling. Cloud walking is also included in those chocolates, as it only made sense to add it anyway." Penny knew her craft well, and the way she spoke would clearly show it. "If you'd like to try a free sample, I think I have the perfect chocolate for you, too." She levitated a piece of chocolate shaped like a lemon slice out of the box, the top of which had a layer of yellow colored chocolate on it. "It's a purification chocolate, which should help with the Tanzanite in your necklace, and like the silver, its magic is associated with the moon and water. Since it has the same attunements, maybe it can add its energy to the energy from your jewelry and help it enhance your psychic awareness." Throughout her Canterlot education, Penny always liked the study of gemstones as sort of a second hobby.
  15. @@Blitz Boom After about a week of not posting anything, I finally type up a post, and you're worried about not being able to respond in the same day? Don't worry about it. I've been way too far behind myself to complain about not getting a response in the same week, let alone the same day. The holiday season has been rough. I wish I wasn't working at 7am on New Years Day, because I really want to watch 2016 die.
  16. @@Blitz Boom @@Denim&Venom "Seeing as this isn't a bone saw, I don't think it would do a good job at that even if that was my plan," Seamore said with a slight grin. "I have the tree notched to fall away from us when I cut it down. It'll be safer to cut the tree than to pull on him until either his neck breaks or his horn snaps. Anyway, I should probably tell you what's going on. Originally, he was zapped by one of the Everwood trees and was unconscious. That's when we sent for help, but he eventually got up and started running... straight into this tree, knocking himself out again. I couldn't say wether or not he was fully conscious before it happened, so he may be 'out of body' still, as I'm aware is a possibility with Everwood." Seamore continued what he was doing, beginning to cut into the tree. He was cutting slowly as to not cause the tree to come down too quickly and possibly cause the tree to split in a way that could hurt Dr.Xeno. @@Blitz Boom "Continue to watch his fates as we walk, and you will see how simple it is to change fate, but know that I have learned what to do by trial and error, and I have seen the same events unfold many times, and in many different ways," The Traveler said, walking toward a hill. At the top of the hill, as the sun began to set, the Traveler sat down casting a shadow into town. The builder was about to choose a spot for the clock tower, but the change in lighting changed his plans. His future would now show paths with much more catostrophic outcomes. One future would show The Forgotten One crushing his enemies with the weight of the tower. Another would show the tower falling on the school while class was in session. None of the outcomes seemed good. @@P-Jay @@Blitz Boom "The signal is unusually strong right now, and I sense his fear. Right this way." Charlie opened a porthole style window in the ground. It was small, too small for Vivid or her other guest, but big enough for Charlie to skitter through without even considering that the others might have trouble with it. It was a dream after all, they should be able to figure it out on their own. @@Lloyd @@Blitz Boom @anypony else in Canterlot Out in the streets of Canterlot, Penny Buttercup was levitating a sign that said "FREE SAMPLES" and an open box of chocolates. She was wearing her saddlebags, which seemed to have more boxes of chocolates sticking out. "Get your free samples! Magic chocolates! Speak a new language, grow wings for a day, breathe under water, and many more!" There didn't seem to be a lot of interested customers, though Penny was being quite loud.
