  1. OOoohhh.. That looks awesome Makes me think of some strange plant growing around rocks.. Oooh, better yet.. what if it's a strange plant with round bio-luminescent cells that light up the area they grow in? ⁿ-ⁿ
  2. That seems like you have the eye outline layer over the eyeball layer.. which is fine, that's what most of us do, such as myself.. I'd just put the eyelashes under the eyeball layer.. So long as pressing page down twice works, it's just 1 extra key xD
  3. Hmm.. It's a little harder to tell what could be wrong if you can't visually see the problem.. Posting screenshots will make it much easier for us to help you as we can see what's going on I myself in Inkscape just make multiple layers, 1 for the snout, 1 for the eyes, 1 for the ears, etc. If there isn't enough room i just make a new layer for it.. and move the layers so they overlay right.. Though I'm fairly new to it as well xD Possible solution?: Make sure you create the curve with the right layer selected before you create it.. If you happen to accidentally do that or don't want to have to recreate the whole curve again, switch to select mode, right click and click "Move to layer ..." then choose layer behind the eye outlines and they should now be there Hope this helped ⁿ-ⁿ ~AURA
  4. Maybe it's because of all the spacing between words But you'd be right to think i'm sorta like Fluttershy xD I'm gentle and don't like the idea of hurting others intentionally, not emotionally and definitely not physically.. I'm fairly shy around those i don't know (Applies more Irl, far less shy on the nets.. except when introducing..) often avoiding eye contact.. Love many animals, especially dogs and other creatures that are similar to canines.. I tend to keep to myself.. Wow.. I'm a LOT like Fluttershy xD Though there are some parts of my personality that are not like her.. but yeah..
  5. Welcome ⁿ-ⁿ Always good to have more and more ponies join I'm fairly new here too (joined yesterday xD) and found this community has the perfect blend of awesomeness, friendliness and ponies Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do.. Again, Welcome to the forums
  6. I like it Sorta makes me think of a tree with twisting roots at it's base.. that's what i see anyways
  7. *Edits profile picture* Lol, I'm a muffin now xD
  8. If you need any help on coloring or combining colors that look good, i recommend watching through this video.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj1FK8n7WgY It may be done by a 3D Blender artist, but this video discusses how color is used for art in general.. Around 7 minutes 30 seconds in, he goes a little more more in depth and explains about color harmonies, which i find really helps when deciding what colors to use in any art i make.. be that sketches, or 3D art Hope this helped ^-^ ~AURA
  9. Well.. It's not so much animatiing that i focus on.. i prefer to do still renders, just because it's much easier and effective to set up for an image than for a full animation.. When i do do animation i prefer them short.. loopable and in .gif format so i can use them on any site.. and most often they're either funny or cool.. Here are some good ones i made.. Like a walk cycle with my MC character: (recent) This gem exploding: (very recent) Or a looping animation with a Tails model i found: (little old) But yeah.. when i do use Blender I usually i do normal still renders either because: A: i was bored.. B: I though of something funny and make a render of it.. or C: As a response image to something someone else said.. Like this one.. But yeah..
  10. Though my OC does not like to fight, when he has to, he relies on speed and cunning in his fights, using his magic to move himself at fast speeds, and adapting how he attacks so he can stop his enemy in its tracks without causing any more harm to anypony..
  11. That sounds cool, and with the kitsune also being known to have powerful illusionary magic, it should be easy to adapt your "ponysona" to have many forms, with with similarities so you can still tell it's you in addition to that, if you're not happy with the form or coloring you initially gave it, you could easily change it, saying that the previous form was just an illusion.. Also, later down the road you could maybe add another tail or two to represent the aging and growth of your kitsune character ⁿ-ⁿ
  12. Comet and Umbra (or Nightshine?).. thats what i came up wih.. hope these ones work for you, or at least give you an idea on what to name them.. but yeah.. hope this helped
  13. My bed is too small.. I'd fall out before there'd be enough room for her.. unless she was at the foot of it.. My reaction: "WTF!?! ... Yup, I've lost it.. I've gone crazy.. this is just a dream.." *looks at Celestia* "Hmmmm..." *Takes picture, uploads to internet*
  14. It feels like forever! XD It seems like ages ago when i was waiting for "Rotten applejack" to be aired so i could watch it.. then this hiatus started.. Stuggling, but hanging in there
  15. Hmm.. that depends.. if i become my OC pony I'd probably have to spend 2 or more hours adjusting to walking on 4 legs xD Then head to the nearest source of information to learn as much as i can about unicorn magic and if possible, either find a way to retain my pony form upon my return (preferably after learning some illusion magic to disguise myself as a human to prevent an uproar..) or to find out how i got there so i could return there whenever possible.. without the risk of causing any dimensional distortions or fractures, as that would greatly risk the lives and existence of all contained within both.. and i would never willingly allow that to happen.. There might not be enough time to learn all that before the day ends.. might have to sneak into the Starswirl archives.. Or find the doctor
  16. I tend to not like red so much anyway.. as i prefer blue.. Though i agree with SFyr.. Red in the characters are fine, as long as they're not done poorly.. A likely reason as to why the characters with a red basis to their scheme still look good is because their colors use analogous or monochromatic color harmonies.. --- Also I think I should put more thought into what shades my OC pony should have.. as i've found the B/W version is more visually pleasing than the colored one :/ Maybe that's due to the hair/mane being a similar shade or saturation as the coat.. maybe i'll make 'im a lighter blue instead and see how that goes..
  17. So i've gotten into drawing ponies, and have gotten better at it since my terrible first tries xD So i was just seeing if i can get some useful crticism from anypony else who's been doing this a long longer then i have.. I'll explain my current process from the beginning: First i use Blender with a custom rig i made to creature what i like to call my "drawguide", which is like the guide lines or circles you see most artist draw prior to drawing a character.. with some constrains and rigging, i can pose it any way i like and with some circles parented to each bone and tracking the camera, i end up with something like this, which i then use as a guide in my next steps.. Then i use the drawguide underneath the main layer of either krita or Inkscape, or both (Whichever art style i want to use) --- For the sake of keeping the images accurate to how i do it, I will show how i made my OC pony profile picture: First i posed and rendered my MLP drawguide: Then I used that in Krita (Which i only downloaded yesterday xD) and did my first test using my drawguide, did the face how it was 'cause i thought it'd look funnier xD In this instance i used the .png export of the Krita art and used Inkscape to made a vectored version of it and changed the face to look better.. the vectored version is a lot more accurate to the show but VERY time consuming.. -_- Still heppy with the result though.. --- But yeah.. any pointers for the pony art pros? ~AURA
  18. Hehe, "Blank Flank" is quite fitting as my OC pony doesn't have his mark yet xD I do have 1 question though.. how could i write my emoticons in its normal text format? Not that i don't like the pony emoticons, they're fine.. It's just i'd prefer what i'm used to and in addition to the fact that ones like this: (which i use frequently) Is bigger and different from ones like this: xD (which i also use frequently )
  19. Hai there everypony Thought now was a good a time as any to join the forums.. It'd be good to be among other who also love this show as much as i do (As well as help pass the time as we wait anxiously for the next episode to some out xD) That poll about "Your favorite mane 6 pony" is way too hard to answer.. I don't really have a favorite.. I have favorites xD Let's see.. "Tell us about yourself!".. Well.. My hobbies are as of now: Animating and rendering in Blender, making art with Krita and Inkscape (I'm fairly new to both), playing games like Minecraft, Starbound and Star Citizen.. My "OC pony" is a blue unicorn pony, i haven't really thought of a name that suits his talent too well, but i'll keep it as Aura I'll also keep his skills a mystery as i'm still working on it, however one of his developed powers, as Aura calls it, is named "Burst magic" Oh.. and incase you hadn't noticed already, I tend to express myself a lot in the text I type by using emoticons frequently xD But yeah.. that's me in a nutshell xD ~AURA
