  1. One year from now, Hasbro will finally leave Discovery Family alone for the first time in over a decade. But which company should acquire all the properties next – just the ones that the Hub Network/Discovery Family previously owned and nothing else? By the way, I did not include Warner Bros. Discovery because Hasbro's shows should no longer belong there, based on what WBD has been doing recently.
  2. For what I know, Hasbro Entertainment hasn't done a single thing for 200 days after its founding, other than releasing Tell Your Tale episodes on YouTube and leaving many of their productions unreleased and/or unavailable, such as Hanazuki: Full of Treasures, My Little Pony: Friendship is Forever, and most of the international versions of the 2019 My Little Pony and Equestria Girls specials, including Rainbow Roadtrip, and keeping some of their older shows on Discovery Family while the network itself is desperately trying to get rid of them, because nobody watches cable anymore. They should have done doing something special worthy of announcement by now, like back when Nintendo of Korea released their first official console 195 days after their founding (7/7/2006 - 1/18/2007). But still, not any word from Hasbro to date!
  3. https://shoutfactory.com/collections/my-little-pony Apparently, Shout! Factory still owns distribution rights for Hasbro's content, seeing as though they are still selling My Little Pony DVDs, despite releasing absolutely nothing new since 2019, including Seasons 8 and 9 of FiM and Pony Life. I don't even know how long their contract with Hasbro is ever going to last either. For what I know, it took Shout! Factory just over seven years to release new G4 titles, and so far, they've released nothing for over five years now.
  4. Whatever it is, Netflix should at least just bring back anything that's not being released on YouTube, like Seasons 5-9 of MLP and all the Equestria Girls films and specials, once Discovery Family's time with Hasbro is done, since all the channels always keep stopping at Season 4 anyways.
  5. I still think that is kind of off topic regarding the other nine films I mentioned here.
  6. We all love animated movies, but sometimes, there are those that just aren't viewable at all in our country because of certain regulations. Thus, here is my top 10 list of animated films that are/were banned in these specific countries. The bans are ranked in order from least concerning (green) to most unforgivable (blood red). Please note that the first 3 movies in the list are adult-oriented, and the last 7 are kid-friendly. 10. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) The motion picture based on Comedy Central's longest-running TV series is banned in Iraq due to showing Saddam Hussein as a homosexual, who was president of Iraq at the time. 9. Sausage Party (2016) For several years, Sausage Party was banned in Malaysia due to sexual content and for the fact that pork products aren't consumed by Muslims. While the film clearly never got released in Malaysia to date (at least according to IMDb), it's still unclear whether if the ban got lifted or not. 8. The Simpsons Movie (2007) Burma has banned The Simpsons Movie due to fear that the characters would cause bias, over the fact that the country's flag uses the colors yellow and red. 7. The Prince of Egypt (1998) Due to its negative portrayal of a prophet, which is considering illegal under Muslim law, The Prince of Egypt is banned in modern-day Egypt, Malaysia and Maldives. A pretty reasonable ban -- unless you're Muslim-American. 5. Lightyear (2022) In Lightyear, there is a scene where a lesbian kiss occurs for just a few seconds. Disney refused to cut this scene, and as a result, the film ended up banned in Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and pretty much every other country in the Middle East. It's also banned in the People's Republic of China. Nonetheless, there are still official Arabic subtitles and a PRC Mandarin dub available in countries where the film isn't banned, so that's still something. A pretty harsh ban indeed. 5. Strange World (2022) You're probably wondering why I tied Lightyear with Strange World. Well, for the same reason as to why Lightyear was banned in the Middle East, Strange World contains a gay main character named "Ethan Clade", who's only 16 years old, by the way. Because of the Middle East's strict laws regarding LGBT, Disney chose not to release Strange World in those countries, which still counts as a ban anyways. 4. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) In a couple of scenes, there is a transgender flag hanging in Gwen's bedroom containing the words "Protect Trans Kids". No matter what purpose the flag was used for, because it was still used, the film ended up banned in at least four countries in the Middle East. I find this ban a little more unfair than for Lightyear and Strange World. 3. Abominable (2019) Over a week after being released worldwide, Abominable was banned in Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia due to a map containing a nine-dash line. Because Universal refused to cut the film, it still remains banned in the countries I mentioned. Not such a reasonable ban, honestly, as the film does have Malay and Vietnamese subtitles on Netflix in countries where the film isn't banned. 2. Onward (2020) If you think Lightyear's ban wasn't harsh enough, check this out. Onward was banned in a few of the same Middle East countries only because in just a few split seconds of the film, a female cyclops police officer indicated that she was a lesbian, by uttering the words "my girlfriend's daughter". Russia, however, did manage to change the line to "my partner's daughter". By far, the worst ban ever done to an otherwise kid-friendly movie -- but nowhere as bad as #1! 1. My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip (2019) Despite containing nothing objectionable whatsoever, Rainbow Roadtrip is still banned in most of Western Europe, Northern Europe and Turkey at the very least. The 2019 Equestria Girls specials all currently share the same fate in every country from these regions. Obviously, the most unforgivable ban made to a kid-friendly movie -- EVER! And that's my list of top 10 animated films that were banned in certain countries.
  7. Whatever either way, I still want G4 and EG to be available anywhere but YouTube or Discovery Family because I terminated my YouTube membership months ago.
  8. But for the Finnish version, at the very least, YouTube is still not the right place for it, as any episodes that get uploaded there always get copyright claimed by the "Copyright Information and Anti-piracy Centre", as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7GOyBeuAVQ
  9. Big companies like Nintendo and Disney care a lot about their intellectual properties. But Hasbro, not so as much. Why can't Hasbro just follow those other companies' footsteps and be more protective of their works?
  10. I really want to know this: How in the world is Hasbro going to earn money out of their Tell Your Tale episodes with all their YouTube channels demonetized? Obviously, everything there is "made for kids", which are automatically demonetized, and because of this, Hasbro can't earn any revenue from ads on their videos.
  11. But with every YouTube channel demonetized, how can Hasbro make money out of that?
  12. Here are some reasons why YouTube is absolutely not the best place for MLP G4 or EG: Made For Kids (Well, Not Really for Today's Kids) Whenever anything on YouTube contains kids’ content, it almost always gets set to “made for kids”, including My Little Pony. YouTube is only doing this to avoid collecting data from children under 13. However, today's kids are not likely going to be interested in G4 or EG, unlike the kids who outgrew MLP over the years, and of course, any MLP video marked “made for kids” are actually “made for no one”, as it's only driving more and more fans away from YouTube, resulting in no audience for the official uploads from the MLP channels, and much less earnings for Hasbro. Ads that may contain adult material Sometimes, a video set to “made for kids” will show a commercial of an R or TV-MA rated film or program. This is only going to lead to more complaints from parents to the FTC, and YouTube could face even more charges on that. The channels could get terminated No matter how unlikely you guys all think the worldwide official MLP channels will get terminated, there never will be a 0% chance that it could still happen. Heck, I’ve seen an official clip of a Nickelodeon animated TV show uploaded by the official channel get taken down for violating YouTube’s TOS. Just like in poker, the chance of getting a royal flush is the same as the chance of an MLP YouTube channel getting terminated. Not everything gets uploaded Many of the international MLP channels always go on hiatus every once in a while, sometimes even for more than a year, and even by then, they still don't finish uploading the rest of the series. This is especially in the case of the Japanese dub of the show and the Equestria Girls series worldwide. For all these reasons, I don't think YouTube is the right place at all for G4 or EG. G5 is okay there, though, but certainly not G4 or anything older than that. Anything from G4 or earlier generations deserve to be on a much better streaming service, besides YouTube and especially Discovery Family, their original network, where they've stayed there long enough by now. And besides, I've also terminated my own YouTube channels because there's lots of other streaming services I prefer anyways.
  13. Either way, I still want to see Hasbro move to anywhere but Discovery Family or any other network without a VOD service by the time their contract with DF expires next year at the earliest, since that's when it's currently scheduled. If I see any kind of My Little Pony episode appearing in the April 2025 schedule, I am writing that petition I mentioned earlier. Not only that, Hasbro Entertainment won't be very likely to earn much money through both Discovery Family and YouTube combined.
  14. And in that marketing slide, next to "Make Your Mark", it just says "Always on: Episodes will live on Netflix throughout 2024", which, like I said many times, is only a friendly way of saying, "You're not getting anything new this year!".
  15. Honestly, can't it be possible that Discovery Family can just end their contract much sooner instead of letting it last for the full amount of time? Besides, international productions of My Little Pony and Transformers before 2021 are already suffering seriously pervasive censorship worldwide, and Hasbro is already giving Discovery Family a hard time themselves by forcing their shows back on the channel while the network itself is trying to make room for WB cartoons. And if they dare renew their contract again, I am starting a petition to force them to move to another service.
  16. You can't! Well, anymore, at least. In my opinion, YouTube started getting worse in 2020, when many videos were set to "made for kids", redirecting millions of users to a video titled "Features impacted by COPPA: Made for Kids content". The YouTube staff was offended so much by the massive amount of dislikes the video received that they took more action by disabling the YouTube Dislike feature. And finally, the service is forcing creators to disclose use of AI on their channels, which could be serious trouble for all the My Little Pony official channels worldwide.
  17. Well, this is unpleasant. After January 2024, there will be no more My Little Pony whatsoever on Hulu. I thought we were going to finally get it on Disney+ with Hulu merging with the service and all, but unfortunately, I guess that won't be happening now. At this rate, both Generation 4 and Equestria Girls are going the right away to going down like Dragon Tales did -- dormancy.
  18. 2021 was miles better than 2023. We got all Season 1 of Pony Life on digital VOD, and A New Generation on Netflix. And unless Hasbro does something good to G4, 2024 will be just as bad, maybe even worse, than 2023. And like I said in my first post, where it says "Always On: Episodes will live on Netflix throughout 2024", as seen here: This is just a friendly way of saying, "You're getting nothing new this year!"
  19. But look at this: Not only are both these videos the exact same thing, they have different addresses. And they're from the same official MLP channel. As additional proof, here's the links to the exact same videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PzGEnlPQNM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlJ-ApMUFjo
  20. But what if, for some reason, an official My Little Pony channel on YouTube gets terminated? I know it's unlikely, but what if it does happen?
  21. Nowhere as good as Friendship is Magic, obviously.
  22. I bailed out of YouTube four months ago because of the guidelines getting stricter and stricter these days, and my channel primarily comprised of AI videos, which is what the platform is now cracking down on. Besides, there's lots of other streaming services I can choose from besides YouTube, such as Disney+, Netflix, Tubi, Pluto TV, Roku, and among others.
  23. Unfortunately on that part, I terminated all of my YouTube channels because I very seldom watch YouTube nowadays, and I only used to use AI to make YouTube videos. Moreover, most of the official My Little Pony YouTube channels are doing no good for G4 fans. They go on hiatus every once in a while, sometimes even for a long time.
  24. 2023 has been the worst year for My Little Pony fans. The worst ever! Aside from all the Make Your Mark episodes on Netflix and Tell Your Tale on YouTube, we did not get much at all of anything else. All we got at all worldwide were the Korean dub of Friendship is Magic's final season, and Portugal finally getting Season 7 of FiM, Rainbow Roadtrip, and Pony Life. That is it -- nothing else. Which means all the 2019 Equestria Girls specials and Rainbow Roadtrip still remain banned in many countries including most of Northern and Western Europe and especially Turkey, the latter who has also banned the Disney movies Lightyear and Strange World. Another piece of awful news this year is that no new digital home media releases occurred for the first time within an entire calendar year in My Little Pony history, for this generation or G5, with the New Generation movie being the last new release in April 2022. I checked iTunes, Amazon Video, and every other digital media store, and found absolutely nothing new! Which means you have to continue spending a buttload of money on Netflix to see one of the two series, and it's still downright illegal for streaming services and media stores to distribute Rainbow Roadtrip or the Friendship is Forever miniseries in the United States. It's all because of one thing: Hasbro's force on its ownership with Discovery Family. I'm betting that right before the contract was previously set to expire by the end of 2021, in addition to extending it to 2025, they put an extreme amount of force into their ownership, which is what caused the show to be removed from Netflix instead of that other network, and eventually resulting in the entire My Little Pony library to return to DF without warning (including every season and episode that was previously taken out of circulation within the last few years), and all remaining Hasbro-owned programming (including My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) to now be the absolute oldest shows still airing there, even despite the shutdowns of the Discovery Family GO! app and the channel's official website. Which means you have to continue subscribing to cable (which will cost you a lot more than even Premium Netflix today) to see the show again, and I know none of you guys want to do that, and nor do I. Of course, Pony Life was removed from both Hulu and Discovery Family in 2023, leaving only Season 9 of Friendship is Magic still on Hulu, but despite the show's removal, Discovery Family still owns the rights to it, meaning that no streaming service can acquire it now until the rights expire, likely because of the way Hasbro forced their shows to stay on DF, even if the channel refuses to air them. I'm really hoping 2024 will be much better than this year was. On that marketing slide, where it says "Episodes will live on Netflix throughout 2024", it's basically a friendly way of saying, "You're getting nothing new this year!" Besides, Hasbro Entertainment really needs do something about all of its content, rather than just solely focus on the new stuff like Season 2 of Tell Your Tale.
