I never thought this was going to happen, but the entire series -- yes, all nine seasons -- are now streaming on KiDoodleTV. If you have the app, you can now watch the show free of charge by clicking on the link below, if YouTube is not an option: https://www.kidoodle.tv/1576/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic Now all that's left to get on there are Best Gift Ever (hopefully in 8-9 months) and Pony Life. So, I guess this means no need for this show on Netflix, Disney+, Peacock, Amazon Prime, or whatever -- that is, for those in the US.

Discovery Family still owns partial rights to G4 content
FirePuppy replied to Steve Piranha's topic in MLP Generation 5 (G5)
There's still hope for all G4 content to return to Netflix by 2025, because: All countries still receive at least one season of Friendship is Magic on Netflix. According to Nielsen, kids don't watch linear cable TV anywhere near as much as streaming services like Netflix. Hasbro needs to do what's best for the kids that want to see G4 on streaming because they're curious about it while watching G5. Hasbro also needs to stop giving Discovery Family a hard time and let them air more WB cartoons. After all, the channel did get rid of six Hasbro-produced shows in the last two years, and now there's only five left still airing there, all of which are now the absolute oldest shows on it. -
Total viewership of Discovery Family per year: 2014 152,000 2015 160,000 +5% 2016 148,000 -8% 2017 118,000 -20% 2018 62,000 -46% 2019 53,000 -18% 2020 58,000 +9% 2021 43,000 -25% 2022 38,000 -14% 2023 28,000 -26% Under these trends, viewership is expected to drop to around 20,000, maybe even less by the end of 2024. This should convince Hasbro that there is no reason to stay on Discovery Family any longer as kids obviously aren't watching linear cable TV these days. Once this happens, all the shows currently airing on DF that Hasbro owns, including My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (especially Seasons 5-9) and Pony Life, will need to move back to streaming, so that the kids currently watching G5 on Netflix becoming more and more curious about G4 finally get access to it.

The way we get rid of our old items after buying new ones in their place, the outcomes are always different. For instance, if we sell or recycle... Books, CDs, DVDs, cellphones - We get paid a little bit. Consoles and desktops - We may get paid a lot! TVs and PC screens - We're the ones who have to pay. Why does it work like this?

Hasbro's final year on Discovery Family
FirePuppy posted a blog entry in After 7 years of MLP: FiM...
Over 2 years ago, Hasbro's contract with Discovery Family was supposed to end so that they could move on to streaming, but the company itself made a horrible move and decided to stay on Discovery Family. This resulted in G4 content of My Little Pony gradually losing streaming options. But now that Hasbro Entertainment is no longer associated with Entertainment One and Make Your Mark has ended, there should be a better chance that G4 will come back to Netflix and finally leave Discovery Family for good next year. This in turn will also allow the 2019 EG specials and Rainbow Roadtrip finally getting Danish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Castilian Spanish, Swedish, Thai and Turkish dubs, since the YouTube channels obviously won't upload any of them. And of course, we can't forget the Friendship is Forever miniseries; Discovery Family still has to air that before Hasbro leaves for good. If all goes well, that miniseries should air by around 2025, within the first three months of that year. As long as the channel doesn't go back to Season 1 on weekday mornings, and Season 9 also stops airing on weekends at some point, the Friendship is Forever miniseries should be wide open for a broadcast. -

HP Pavilion 590-p0050 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz, Windows 11 Home, DVD-ROM drive, and 8 GB of RAM. I plan to get an external BD-ROM drive someday, though.

"Made for Kids" setting on videos that are unsuitable for children, plus the disabling of comments because of this. Copyright claims. And most recently, the restriction of AI usage. All these reasons left me with no choice but to terminate all my YouTube channels. Now, I only watch YouTube if I feel like it.

Still no Rainbow Roadtrip in some of Western Europe
FirePuppy replied to FirePuppy's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I just learned tonight the hard way that you guys were right all along. I do admit, censorship isn't the clear reason why some animated specials just don't get released in a long time. It could most likely be because of obligations with other companies, in the case of Hasbro still refusing to leave Discovery Family after their contract was supposed to be terminated much earlier than it does now. Whatever's happening, I still want to see Danish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Castilian Spanish, Swedish, Thai and Turkish dubs of this special get released someday, since there's a lot more content dubbed in these languages compared to the ones Rainbow Roadtrip has already gotten. For what I know, Netflix exclusively hosted most of the previous specials, but Hasbro decided to stay on Discovery Family for another several years, and rejected their agreement with Netflix. I'm hoping that next year, Hasbro will not renew their contract with DF again, since that channel is obviously trying to make more room for WB cartoons, and Hasbro will be forced to move on to another service, where they'll easily be able to release everything including Rainbow Roadtrip worldwide. By the way, YouTube won't work because the show always keep stopping at Season 4 of FiM, so it'll have to be anywhere other than YouTube.- 4 replies

That's right, and if the net income continues going down like this, Hasbro may be forced to end all streaming of A New Generation, Make Your Mark and Tell Your Tale on Netflix later this year, or more likely by the time their contract with Discovery Family is also up -- unless, of course, the operating expenses decrease.

I have some shocking news. Exactly 30 days ago, Hasbro reported a record-breaking loss of over $1 billion in just 3 months. That's more than 6 TIMES how much YouTube was once fined by the FTC (only $170 million)! Because of this, Hasbro is apparently now down to a maximum $0 net income within all 60 whole months from 2019 to 2023, which also means all net incomes for Rainbow Roadtrip, Pony Life and EVERYTHING from Generation 5 of My Little Pony (A New Generation, Make Your Mark, and probably Tell Your Tale as well) are now gone. Trust me, if Hasbro hadn't merged with Entertainment One in the first place (I believe that's what they did in 2019), they could have afforded more international productions of Rainbow Roadtrip, Pony Life, and the rest of the Equestria Girls specials. Either way, this is already looking like a disaster for Hasbro and its divisions. If someone completely out of their mind that you never met in your entire life said to you, "You're the best mommy in the whole world. Don’t you love your little boy?" What would you reply with? NOTE: Don't say anything that loves this person in return. I recommend something that is far different from that.

I hope you're right. Hasbro's actions up to selling eOne to Lionsgate has resulted in a loss of over $1 billion in just 3 months — more than 6 times how much Google and YouTube were fined by the FTC back in 2019! — Which means all the net income Hasbro earned during their time with eOne (all the money earned for Pony Life and EVERYTHING G5 from A New Generation to all of Make Your Mark) is now smithereens. Trust me, if they hadn't merged with eOne in the first place, things would have been much easier for them and for us fans today.
