Hasbro's revenue drops to a record low within just two years
FirePuppy commented on FirePuppy's blog entry in After 7 years of MLP: FiM...
They'll probably do that after March 2025, when Discovery Family's time is up with all the shows that are currently all under their oppression. -

What is the estimate budget for Tell Your Tale? Judging by the series' length, my guess is about $100,000 per 5-minute episode and $400,000 per 22-minute special. That's a total of $7 million for the first season, and $6.4 million for the second season. Of course, it could be cheaper or more expensive than that, but this is only an educated guess.

How would you rate Discovery Family's current oppression of Friendship is Magic, Equestria Girls and Pony Life? As you know, the network did remove Pony Life last year and all Equestria Girls content from their schedule just recently, but would still not give up their broadcasting rights either way, nor would they allow them on most streaming services. Therefore, it would make me really happy if you guys select a very low number in this poll. EDIT: All right, who voted 10 on this poll?

During Hasbro's time with the Hub Network/Discovery Family, they produced a total of 12 animated shows: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (October 10, 2010 – October 12, 2019) Pound Puppies (October 10, 2010 – November 16, 2013) The Adventures of Chuck and Friends (October 15, 2010 – January 9, 2012) G.I. Joe: Renegades (November 26, 2010 – July 23, 2011) Transformers: Prime (November 29, 2010 – July 26, 2013) Transformers: Rescue Bots (December 17, 2011 – October 22, 2016) Kaijudo: Rise/Clash of the Duel Masters (June 2, 2012 – December 28, 2013) Littlest Pet Shop (November 10, 2012 – June 4, 2016) Blazing Team: Masters of Yo Kwon Do (November 13, 2015 – September 9, 2017) Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own (April 14, 2018 – January 26, 2019) Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy (January 5, 2019 – June 5, 2021) My Little Pony: Pony Life (November 7, 2020 – May 22, 2021) Along with these shows, they also produced four short series as well: My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (March 27, 2014 – September 1, 2019; Rainbow Rocks, Friendship Games, Summertime Shorts and Better Together) Transformers: Prime Wars Trilogy (August 2, 2016 – July 3, 2018; Combiner Wars, Titans Return and Power of the Primes) Hanazuki: Full of Treasures (January 12, 2017 – May 4, 2019; series is incomplete) Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own (October 4, 2017 – April 24, 2018) And of course, one finale movie for Transformers: Prime ("Predacons Rising"), which was released in October 2013, a bunch of Equestria Girls films and specials, which lasted from June 2013 to December 2019, and Friendship is Magic specials Best Gift Ever (2018) and Rainbow Roadtrip (2019). Netflix Of the 12 shows produced by Hasbro and Discovery, all were once available on Netflix, except two -- Blazing Team: Masters of Yo Kwon Do and My Little Pony: Pony Life. Sadly, G.I. Joe: Renegades and Kaijudo were removed from Netflix on January 2, 2015, followed by most of the other six pre-2015 shows on August 16, 2018, just after the release of Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own, and a year before Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy. And sadly for those shows, Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own, along with most of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, were also removed in early 2022, followed by Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy a year or two later. All that currently remains on Netflix as of 2024 are the following: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Worldwide, but varies by country (4 seasons in the US, 5 seasons in Eastern Europe, 2 seasons in Scandinavia, and just 1 season everywhere else) Transformers: Prime - Season 1 (US, India, Italy, South Korea and Eastern Europe) Transformers: Rescue Bots - Season 1 (US only) Discovery Family Channel Seven of the 12 shows are no longer airing on Discovery Family: Kaijudo: Rise/Clash of the Duel Masters - October 12, 2014, the day before Discovery Family replaced the Hub Network G.I. Joe: Renegades - January 4, 2015 Blazing Team: Masters of Yo Kwon Do - May 2022 Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy - March 2023 Transformers: Prime - August 2023 My Little Pony: Pony Life - October 2023 Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own - November 2023 (August 2022 before this) Other streaming services All 12 shows are currently available for purchase on iTunes and/or Amazon.Aside from that, Tubi carries Pound Puppies, The Adventures of Chuck and Friends, G.I. Joe: Renegades, Transformers: Prime (seasons 2 and 3 only), and Littlest Pet Shop. Amazon Prime has Season 2 of Kaijudo: Clash of the Duel Masters, but not Season 1. KiDoodle TV has all nine seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and all the Equestria Girls films and specials, but not the shorts or Pony Life. The four shows that were produced during the Discovery Family era, as well as the "Predacons Rising" movie, are not available at all anywhere, due to their company still refusing to leave Discovery Family, which removed these shows to make room for WB cartoons (since Discovery merged with Warner Bros.). My hopes are that after Hasbro decides what to do in March 2025 (since that's when their 40% ownership of Discovery Family is set to end at the earliest), they will move their shows from Discovery Family to any streaming service out there.

So far this year, Hasbro still hasn't released a single new unreleased international production for Generation 4 worldwide, especially any of the 2019 Equestria Girls specials or Rainbow Roadtrip in most countries. And now, for the first time in San Diego Comic-Con history, they did not unveil ANYTHING from the My Little Pony franchise within an entire calendar year!

Hasbro's revenue drops to a record low within just two years
FirePuppy posted a blog entry in After 7 years of MLP: FiM...
After peaking at $6,485,000,000 two years ago, Hasbro's revenue has dramatically dropped all the way down to $4,544,000,000 – an absolute record low since 2016. -
Here is a list of all the known international productions for Friendship is Magic, Equestria Girls and Pony Life that there are as of today. I excluded The Movie because every country except Japan and South Korea released it in 2017, while those two countries did so in 2018. COMPLETED Cantonese - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of August 22, 2020 on ViuTV. Korean - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of July 10, 2023, with Season 9 being the last to be released. Mandarin - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of late 2019. Polish - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of September 25, 2019. Brazilian Portuguese - The last two remaining episodes aired in summer 2022, completing the dub's run at the time. Spanish (Latinoamérica) - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of April 12, 2020, when Hulu released the second half of the final season on that date. INCOMPLETE (as of 2024) Arabic - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of June 2020. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials still have no Arabic dub. Czech - Only the first eight seasons had aired in Czechia, through February 25, 2019. Despite this, Season 9 was still dubbed in 2019 by Hasbro instead of Minimax (where the first 8 seasons aired). Danish - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of May 2020, with Season 9 streaming on Viaplay. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials, Rainbow Roadtrip and Pony Life all still have no Danish dub. Dutch - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of August 25, 2019, with Season 9 streaming on Videoland. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials still have no Dutch dub. Finnish - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of October 30, 2019. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials still have no Finnish dub. French - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of December 14, 2020. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials and Rainbow Roadtrip still have no French dub. German - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of December 7, 2019. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials and Rainbow Roadtrip still have no German dub. Greek - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of late 2022, in which Seasons 7-9 did not dub the songs. However, Friendship Games, Legend of Everfree, Best Gift Ever, Rainbow Roadtrip and Pony Life all still have no Greek dub. Hebrew - Seasons 3, 8 and 9 were not dubbed. The last new episodes were released in 2020. Hungarian - Only the first eight seasons had aired in Hungary, through November 8, 2019. Italian - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of December 21, 2019 on Italian channel Cartoonito. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials and Rainbow Roadtrip still have no Italian dub. Japanese - Seasons 7-9, the last three Equestria Girls specials and Pony Life are all not dubbed as of 2022, when Season 6 was released. Norwegian - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of May 2020, with Season 9 streaming on Viaplay. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials, Rainbow Roadtrip and Pony Life all still have no Norwegian dub. Portuguese - Season 7, Best Gift Ever, Rainbow Roadtrip and Pony Life were all released in 2023, but Seasons 8 and 9 were not dubbed. Romanian - Only the first eight seasons aired on Minimax through December 2019, like the Czech and Hungarian dubs. Spanish (España) - Seasons 7 and 9, Best Gift Ever, Rainbow Roadtrip and Pony Life are all not dubbed as of 2022, when Season 8 was released. Swedish - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of May 2020, with Season 9 streaming on Viaplay. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials, Rainbow Roadtrip and Pony Life all still have no Swedish dub. Thai - All nine seasons have been dubbed as of 2020 on Boomerang in Thailand. However, the last three Equestria Girls specials and Rainbow Roadtrip still have no Thai dub. Turkish - Even though all 9 seasons aired through December 8, 2019, some episodes were "banned" from Turkey and remain unreleased, including Best Gift Ever and Rainbow Roadtrip. Nonetheless, all 143 episodes from Seasons 1-6 did get released on Netflix. Pony Life was also not dubbed in Turkish. And of course, don't forget the Friendship is Forever miniseries. It did see an Australian release and does have a Ukrainian dub, all right, but in the entire rest of the world, including the United States, it's still unreleased. So far, not ONE country worldwide has released anything new (to them, that is) from Generation 4 or Equestria Girls this year. If only Hasbro would do something...

I think I know another reason why they renewed that contract. It's kind of a theory, by the way. By the end of 2022 (when Hasbro's decision on what to do with its ownership of Discovery Family was originally due), Discovery Family's weekly schedule contained roughly 53-60 hours (about 32% to 36% of the entire week) of Hasbro's shows, and they didn't have enough replacement shows by then, thus needing themselves more time with Hasbro to find as many replacement shows from Warner Bros. as they could. I believe this is exactly what the schedule looked like in December 2022: 5:00 AM - Pound Puppies 6:00 AM - The Adventures of Chuck and Friends 7:00 AM - Transformers Prime (weekends) or Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (weekdays) 7:30 AM - Transformers Rescue Bots Academy (weekends) or Transformers Prime (weekdays) 8:00 AM - Transformers Rescue Bots 8:30 AM - Petronix Defenders (weekends) or Transformers Rescue Bots Academy (weekdays) 9:00 AM - Petronix Defenders (weekends) or Pound Puppies (weekdays) 9:30 AM - Super Monsters (weekends) or Littlest Pet Shop (weekdays) 10:00 AM - Super Monsters (weekends) or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (season 1; weekdays) 10:30 AM - Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (weekends) or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (season 1; weekdays) 11:00 AM - Littlest Pet Shop (weekends) or Super Monsters (weekdays) 11:30 AM - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (weekends) or Super Monsters (weekdays) 12:00 PM - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (weekends) or Littlest Pet Shop (weekdays) 12:30 PM - My Little Pony: Pony Life (weekends) or Littlest Pet Shop (weekdays) 1:00 PM - My Little Pony 1-hour special (weekends) or My Little Pony: Pony Life (weekdays) 1:30 PM - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (weekdays only, airing through 4:00 PM) So far now, almost half of this schedule has been occupied by Warner Bros. cartoons, making it look like as if Hasbro owned 20% of the channel.

If you made Friendship is Magic a 200-episode series...

If you wanted My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to be exactly 200 episodes long, which 21 episodes would you definitely remove? I recommend choosing ones that you think do not affect the show's plot in any way. My choices are: Look Before You Sleep Sleepless in Ponyville Princess Spike (thus making Amending Fences the 100th episode) Applejack's "Day" Off The Cart Before the Ponies 28 Pranks Later PPOV (Pony Point of View) Marks and Recreation Secrets and Pies Non-Compete Clause The Hearth's Warming Club (worst HWE episode ever!) The End in Friend Yakity-Sax Sparkle's Seven (hence the 200 episode limit) Frenemies Student Counsel 2, 4, 6, Greaaat A Trivial Pursuit She Talks to Angel Dragon Dropped Growing Up is Hard to Do (thus making The Last Crusade the last CMC episode) If I had taken these episodes off, Pinkie Pie probably would have appeared in the third-most number of episodes in the series, behind Twilight and Applejack.

The show still hasn't left the channel as of July 2024, but they did remove all the Equestria Girls installments and Pony Life, despite still owning the broadcasting rights to them all. This is because the network renewed their contract with Hasbro until early 2025, which means no other service will be able to obtain the rights until then. Here's some sources: "Beginning in 2021, the Company and the Network agreed that Hasbro would no longer provide the Network with new content." — Source: 2021 Hasbro Annual Report, page 108 "Hasbro Inc. (“Hasbro”) had the right to put the entirety of its remaining 40% interest in Discovery Family to the Company at any time during the one-year period beginning December 31, 2021, or in the event the Company’s performance obligation related to Discovery Family is not met. Embedded in the redeemable noncontrolling interest is also a Warner Bros. Discovery call right that is exercisable for one year after December 31, 2021. Neither the put nor call was exercised in 2022. In December 2022, Hasbro and WBD signed an amendment to the previous agreement extending the put-call election to the period January 31, 2025 to March 31, 2025." — Source: 2023 Warner Bros. Discovery Annual Report, page 110 I have no idea why both of the above happened.

The way I see it now, 2024 has now become the new most disastrous year for My Little Pony. Within the entire first half of this year, we only got a total of 97 minutes of new content out of the planned 328 (just 15 out of 48 episodes and 1 out of 4 specials for Tell Your Tale Season 2). Episodes from both seasons 1 and 2 were to be available on Netflix this year, but so far, we only have the first 56 episodes of the first season on there, and the last 14 episodes of that season still not have been announced. Friendship is Magic is still on Discovery Family, except now, they're removing all the Equestria Girls movies and specials and any other non-FiM content all at once on weekends to make room for Summer Camp Island, and they've even removed two timeslots of the show from weekdays. Worst yet, we still have to wait at least 7-9 months from now for Generation 4, Equestria Girls and Pony Life to get more streaming options, since Discovery Family's contract with Hasbro is still in effect for that long. And even worse from there, Hasbro has still not announced any plans for My Little Pony in 2025, although last year, their plans for 2024 were announced in June 2023.

With Summer Camp Island replacing all My Little Pony content on weekends on Discovery Family starting this July, that means the channel will no longer be airing any MLP content of any kind whatsoever on weekends, especially all Equestria Girls movies or specials. Discovery is doing this probably because they want to end their contract with Hasbro sooner than ever, and for the fact that everything is already on YouTube and KiDoodle TV. Either way, here's all the last broadcast dates for everything EG on Discovery Family through June 2024 that I know of: Equestria Girls 1 - May 26, 2024 Rainbow Rocks - April 14, 2024 Rainbow Rocks shorts - June 29, 2024 (1:30 p.m.) Friendship Games - May 4, 2024 Friendship Games shorts - June 29, 2024 (1:00 p.m.) Legend of Everfree - April 28, 2024 Dance Magic - June 15, 2024 (1:30 p.m.) Movie Magic - June 23, 2024 (1:00 p.m.) Mirror Magic - June 23, 2024 (1:30 p.m.) Forgotten Friendship - June 9, 2024 Rollercoaster of Friendship - June 8, 2024 Spring Breakdown - June 30, 2024 Sunset's Backstage Pass - June 1, 2024 Holidays Unwrapped - January 1, 2024 (3:00 a.m.)

What made you sad/ angry/ negative emotion today?

I am always going to feel this way for as long as Discovery Family doesn't let go of their broadcasting rights for Hasbro's content. It can't stay the only option for those shows and movies any longer. -
