great...my S button is no longer working properly. that is extremely frustrating. I literally have to mash it in order to get it to work. I spoke to my local technician a couple of months back and they told me they'd have to replace the entire key-board. yep, they couldnt just replace the one key, and they told me it'd be $450. yeah, that's just ridiculous. Okay, I do have $470 lying around (that was the amount of money my family gave me for christmas / my birthday several years ago, but I think it's kinda stupid spending that kind of money on a brand-new keyboard + my laptop battery is on its last legs, and they told me it'd cost roughly $125 - $185 to repair it. if ya add all of that together, it's not worth it. I paid $1700 for my gaming laptop back in 2016 (well, that is how much I originally paid for it before I broke the screen. eventually, I got a replacement and this is the one I'm using. I've had this laptop for bout 4 years and had 4 major issues with it. I think it originally had 256GB. now it has 512GB. the original part was faulty and had to be replaced. in 2020, it developed a graphical glitch whenever I played LOE. I'll post a pic of it to show you what I'm talking bout:
eventually, the computer shut down unexpectedly and had to send it in for repairs, again. It got really hot and I was unable to turn it back on. last year, one of my buttons developed a crack and now, it has split open. had to put duck-tape over it, and now, my battery is on its last legs.)to get a new battery and to replace the keyboard is gonna be roughly $600 + which I think is pretty ridiculous. yeah, I was saving my money to replace the keys on my keyboard, but now...I dunno if it's worth it. yeah, I've noticed the button has progressively gotten worse over-time. I dunno what I should do...I know I'll get some money on my birthday, but that's less than 3 months away. I get roughly around $200 + from my family. so if I were to take a look at what I got from last year ($370) and the year before ($470), that is $840. it is enough to get a brand-new laptop, but not a good one / gaming laptop. yeah, those things are bloody expensive.
Pretty soon, my S button will stop working. if you were in my shoes, what would you do? Should I...
A. wait it out til it's my birthday? (I will probably get $200 + from my family. it's still a LONG way til September)
B. should I just pay the $450 to get the keyboard repaired? (if I send it for repairs, who knows when I'll get it back thanks to COVID)
or
C. should I just say 'F it' and get a brand-new laptop? it wont be as flashy as the one that I've got, but at least I wont have to deal with any of the problems that my laptop has atm....yeah, I'm pretty disappointed. I wanted to spend that money on an expensive figurine. oh well, at least the money wont go to waste. yeah, I'm pretty bummed out bout this...
I mean, it's bout time, but still...
IF I was gonna get a brand-new laptop, I want it to be a gaming laptop and one that can play Legends Of Equestria and be able to handle other games on the system. problem is most of these are pretty expensive and all of the good ones are well over $3000.
Whenever I go to JW computers, I've seen this laptop being advertised.

okay, so this one is $999 and it's got some fairly good reviews (at least from what I've seen). if I count up the money I've got from my family for christmas / new years and it does add up to $840 (yeah, this is based on muscle memory. I will have to count.), then I'm okay withdrawing some money from my savings to pay off the rest.
EDIT: well, this one is $850. My dad is no tech expert, but he tells me Dell is like a Mac for PCs. if I go and count up the money I got from my family for my birthday / christmas, and it does add up to $840...well...I might get this instead. according to google, this is the newer of the two. this one was released in 2021. the other one was released in 2018.
Yeah, I dunno what I should do at this point. *sighs* what do you guys think?

Well, I have all of my enthusiasm sucked out of me. I was planning to spend my money on an expensive figure, and now, I have to use that money to buy a brand new laptop. *sighs* this is so frustrating. well, at least it wont go to waste, but still...
...and the issue with the status update is only making me feel even more depressed. It feels like everyone is ignoring me, and I know they're not. I'm surprised they havent fixed it already. what's taking them so long? IMO, it should've been fixed by now.
I think I'll take it easy for today and watch a godzilla movie just to take my mind off of it. there is a possibility that I can get the SH MonsterArts keizer ghidorah if it comes out next year, but now...it looks highly un-likely. -
I'm not sure what to tell you, my friend. I feel like you need to be the judge of this. Just remember, there is more to explore than you think. Really explore your choices deeply. The more research you do, the more your answer might become clear.
I wouldn't go for anything Dell brand. Despite my last computer, a Dell, lasting way longer than I thought it would, there were still some areas of quality that I felt it was lacking in. If you are thinking of getting a new laptop, you might want to search eBay. You might be surprised what you find. I found an unbelievable custom build there. And with repair jobs, you never know what might happen. There might be complications that raise the price of repair. All the more reason to do your research. In the end, you'll know in your heart what you want to do.

well, a good friend of mine on discord has taken a look at all of the options that are available and he's narrowed it down to two. I dunno bout you, but I feel a lot happier ^^ it's between these two:
if I cant get the Asus, I should get the HP. yeah, he told me the both of them are A LOT better than the one I have. it all comes down to which one I can afford. I only have a spare $840, but my dad says he's gonna help me out. ever since my S button stopped working, it's been CHAOS!!!
