    How would they write their way outta that one?! Wasn't part of the problem with the Starlight Glimmer episodes that everypony lost their memories when they lost their cutie marks? But yeah, I never thought of that and you made a really good point! It'd make a great story-line

    You can always look at Equestria as the "opposite" to our world, in that it it has a totally different logic to ours. Everypony is appalled by the existence of the Everfree forest (which parallels our world) in which chaos reigns; the plants grow, no-one controls the weather and the animals take care of themselves! So while fate and magic are fantasies for us, perhaps they are everyday things for inhabitants of Equestria. Fate guiding the naming, talent and subsequent marking of a pony just wouldn't be weird for them!

    Diamond Dogs! I think you could get 20-minutes entertainment out of watching them trying to pull off jewelry heists. Or you could just make a movie out of Metal Gear Solid 5 where everyone is an animated dog...

    I don't really feel qualified to weigh in on this discussion but all I want to say is that the reputation of this fandom precedes you and you should all feel proud. It's disappointing when a fandom implodes, especially when it's so opposed to the values of the show (case in point: Steven Universe). So good luck everyone, I hope you all tolerate the sh1t out of each other!

    That's so cool, Mane Stay, can we see your sculptures when you have made them? I love Rarity, so watching her talk her way out of a sticky situation is great fun However, I love rooting for the bad guys (in this case, literally the "under dogs") and the Diamond Dogs are pretty good villains.

    I don't know if it's appropriate or cool to try revive this topic, but I just re-watched the 2 pilot episodes and they're really giving me the warm-and-fuzzies! I think they're really well-made and their narrative simplicity is a great introduction to the show and is a great hook. The good vs. evil/ day vs. night set-up is a conflict everyone can understand on a primal level.

    My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rarity How did you find MLP Forums?: I heard that MLP FIM had a great fandom that I'd love to chat to people in, so I Googled "MLP forum". (Full disclosure: I don't know what a forum is) How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I went to art college where we were all obsessed with cartoons and tv shows with all-female casts! I've been watching MLP FIM since 2012, but because I'm a bit of a luddite, I've never joined a forum before. I'm up for an in-depth discussion about socio-policies in Equestria or the duality of good and evil in the show or which member of the Pie family would give the best cuddles! (spoiler: it's Maude) I make films occasionally and in my spare time I play some video games (perhaps you can guess which series?) I may start creating some stuff here once I've figured this forum business out. I'd also like to start roleplaying too! Feel free to start a big debate with me and hopefully I'll see you in some discussions!
