      They did in generation II, when there was a huge shitstorm over how their Feraligatr, nicknamed "LazorGator" because it used Leer a lot (which, in generation II, looks like lasers coming out of the user's eyes), was OP compared to the rest of the team and then people wanted to release it but then people wanted to keep it. This drove viewership down from 70 - 90k people down to what it is now.
