    Well, it's officially the first day of Spring here in Australia and it's only goin to get warmer ^^ :laugh: :catface: I will say this tho: this has to be THE warmest winter we've had in years :blink: It has been unusually warm (with temperatures going up as high as 19 - 23 degrees celcius), which straight up tells me Summer is gonna be HOT!!! :o Like I said before, I prefer Summer over Winter any-day of the week. :mlp_smug: As some-pony who lives in the tropics, I cant stand the cold :scoots:

     

    Also, my birthday is in a couple of weeks time. (September 13th) I can't wait for that!!! :ticking:

      Fire. Besides just being a bit of a pyro, I've never been steered wrong by a fire type, they've always been my strongest. Granted, I stopped playing back in the original Gold/Silver days, but I always went with a fire starter, and they always ended up just wrecking 90% of whatever they went up against.

      Plus the designs are usually just the most appealing to me. Fire salamander that turns into a fire dragon? Fire hedgehog-anteater thing that turns into a fire puppy kind of thing? Yes, plz.

    This might be my last post for a while. I can't think of anything interesting to say. If I post anything other than MLP in my status updates, it BARELY gets any attention. (I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.)

     

    Honestly, I've had enough of FIM and I'm waiting for G5. (when you take a look at some of the episodes in S9, they have the exact same plot as some of the previous episodes, which makes it very predictable and boring. Again, this is just my opinion, obviously yours will be different) No, I'm not leaving the MLP Forums, I just need some time to vent :please: I'll let you know when I'm feeling better...

     

    For those of you who don't know, I had a terrible stomach-ache over the last couple of days and that's why I haven't been posting frequently. I almost had to take medications just to clear my gut and I almost had to go and see a doctor. I was unable to poop for four days straight. I literally had to take prune juice just to help clear my bowels/ get rid of my severe stomach pain, which I thought was something more sinister (A.K.A diabetes / cancer) ...it was THAT bad...

    A couple of weeks ago, Star Wars celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace and that’s why they’ve released this figurine. :mlp_icwudt:

     

     

    I am a HUGE fan of Obi Wan Kenobi and I’m 50 – 50 at the moment. Y’see, I wanna save my money for a Switch Mini, but on the other hand, I really wanna get this figurine. Decisions, decisions…

     

    What do you guys think? Should I save my money or get this exclusive figurine? :ooh: I mean, it’s only $40 and the release date is only 2 months away from my birthday…and I know for a fact that my parents will give me money on my birthday :derp:

      If you want a "spruced up" version of the whole OT, check out Star Wars Revisited, by Adywan. He's still working on ROTJ, but ANH and ESB are out for download. Loooots of quality if life touch ups, like fixes in visual errors and flukes (flat lightsaber blades from certain angles being one of the most noticeable), minor consistency edits, improved CG (Alderaan's and DS1's destruction are SO much better, and the battles of Hoth and Yavin are friggin epic now). Honestly it's my new gold standard, I cant wait for him to finish ROTJ. Word is he's restoring cut scenes of B-wing pilots in their cockpits at Endor, by building the cockpits and outfits himself and getting actors to act that he's filming all on his own.

    you know, it makes me wonder how they're gonna make episode 9 now that Carrie Fisher (A.K.A the original Princess Leia) and Peter Mayhew are now dead. They say they have enough footage from The Force Awakens AND The Last Jedi to work with. They should've just killed her off in The Last Jedi. If you want my honest opinion, you should get some-one else to play as Princess Leia. Honestly, I feel as if Episode 9 is a desperate attempt to get the fans attention. It's sad, really. :( They killed Han Solo in The Force Awakens, they killed Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi, Carrie Fisher died a year after The Last Jedi came out and now this. Why do I have a bad feeling they're gonna kill Lando and Chewie in Episode 9?

      As far as Chewie, Mayhew was already training a successor while working on TLJ, because his health was deteriorating so much he knew he couldn't don the suit much any more, so that won't be much of a problem. As far as Leia, yeah, it sounds like it's gonna be a mix of stuff she already recorded for spare footage, and like what they did for the Rebel pilots in Rogue One. And at this point I think JJ is smart enough not to make a dumbass move like killing Lando and Chewie after the reactions to TFA and TLJ. He seems to know he and Rian dun' fugged up and wants to try to salvage what he can....my question is more 'is he capable of it' rather than 'does he want to.'

      What makes me sad is the toxic reaction Hamill got for posting that photo of him, Carrie, Harrison, and Billy D in the cockpit of the Falcon saying it was a missed opportunity, and the people who gave him shit are calling people like us saying 'yeah that's kind of sad they missed out on that' the toxic fanboys.

      God damn, I hate society these days -_-

    Okay, I'm gonna be perfectly honest here: Video game adaptations have ALWAYS been a grey area in the movie cinema genre. I dunno why, but whenever they make one, they ALWAYS seem to screw it up. Just take a look at the Mario Bros movie from the 90's (which I haven't seen btw), the Mortal Kombat movie, the Street fighter movie, Assassin's Creed, Doom, Resident Evil and many more...

     

    At this point, they've seem to have nailed the design for Detective Pikachu and overall, the movie has the potential to be a great movie AS LONG AS THEY DONT PUT ANY OF THE CHEESY HUMOUR WE'VE HAD SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE 2010's. It's been in EVERY Marvel movie so far and I'm sick of it...

     

    ...and it's not just in the movies, the same thing goes for TV shows. Sonic X, Pacman and the ghostly adventures, Megaman NT warrior and Sonic Boom are a couple of bad examples... 

     

    The ONLY one that has managed to pull it off is Castlevania. At least THAT is accurate to the source material (a little short IMO) and that's THE most important thing when you're making one of these movies. The fans have such high expectations when it comes to these sort of movies and when it's not done right, the fans absolutely butcher it.

      @Widdershins Oh don't get me wrong, as a core concept, the idea of 'origin story' works....it's just who's going to want to watch when one of your two main characters is literally painful to look at?

      Any *one* of those (personally my favorite is the second one, by LadyGT) still gets the 'strange potentially scary creature' effect across without being legitimately disturbing (in a bad way) like the version they actually went with. At the end of the day, this is supposed to be a lighthearted kids movie, but any kid old enough to comprehend words is going to see this and be given nightmare fuel.

      @Widdershins I'd say it's less 'for the lulz' and more 'hey, kids spend tons of money on this, who cares if it's good, it's ___ thing they're into, they'll get the parents to spend money on it anyway, we'll make bank regardless!'...in other words, a cash grab. Result is still the same, though-a soulless mockery of what it should be. Same thing kinda happens with anime adaptations to live action movies.

      I have to disagree with the self awareness in regards to the Sonic movie though. Based on this quote from the exec producer, he and the design team were clearly on ALL TEH DRUGZ: " "It would be weird and it would feel like he was running around nude if he was some sort of otter-like thing. It was always, for us, fur, and we never considered anything different. It's part of what integrates him into the real world and makes him a real creature."

      I mean for one, they think Sonic is an otter (dafuq...?) two, they thought their current design of 'Manhog' would make him seem less naked. And from all accounts, they wanted this to be an actual homage to the characters, so....irreverent meta humor is likely out the window.

    Well, my day just went from bad to worse. :sunny: I was un-able to make a post last night 'cuz my BRAND NEW laptop had a technical issue, and a REALLY bizarre one at that. :blink: O_O :confused: When I took it to the tech experts, they told me there was a problem with the hard drive and it has NOTHING to do with the fact I didn't update my laptop. I can't believe it. My laptop is less than 7 months old and it ALREADY has a problem. My dad had to pay $280 just so they can fix it. Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME!? :unamused: I took care of this laptop...

     

    They said they'd call me once they've resolved the issue, but I am absolutely gutted that my laptop decided to have a technical issue...

The last time I did, my laptop did not want to go into sleep mode even when I put the lid down...and they told me that was the cause of an update... :unamused:

     

    Not only that, every couple of hours, it would tell me to update my laptop, and I just got sick and tired of it. And the stupid thing is, it would tell me EVEN if I already installed the latest update...

     

    ...but yeah, the technician told me it had nothing to do with that and he told me the issue was far more sinister. i dunno when I'll be getting it back, but I hope it's soon. (Like, Tuesday - Wednesday next week) :sunny:

     

    I don't like using the Mac downstairs. It takes 2 MINUTES to turn on, takes an additional 3 minutes to warm up and my parents are ALWAYS using it. Oh, and it lags quite a fair bit. :unamused: 

     

    On the bright side, I DID manage to find a First Order Storm Trooper when I went to toy mate (which is the replacement for Toys R Us here in Australia). :derp: It was hidden in the back and there was only one left. I LITERALLY had to go to hell and back just to get this thing XD It was a cheap $3 figurine, but...it was totally worth it :laugh: ^^ :catface:

    I'm pretty ticked off about this...of all the times it could've happened, why today!? :unamused: the last time I turned it on (last night at 6PM), there was nothing wrong with it. When I turned it on at 10PM, it gave me a bunch of technical jargon that I didnt understand (telling me I needed to contact the HP tech center) and I was unable to log in... :blink: O_O :confused:

      @Widdershins If it's the Windows update, it's legit, it's just updates to the OS...the problem is the coders are so at their jobs that their updates break their own product 80% of the time, whether its minor or major. Your graphics card also has driver updates fairly often.

      They dont come with instruction booklets because each component would need it's own booklet-CPU, GPU, OS, motherboard, etc. You cant really think of a PC as a single thing, since each component usually has it's own manufacturer.

      And this is why you custom build rather than get pre-built :P

      When I still used pre built years and years ago, I'd always have odd tech issues (especially on laptops)...ever since I swapped, never had an issue, and no one I know who uses custom builds has ever had weird tech issues from nowhere.

      Out of curiosity, did they happen to say what the issue was, exactly?

    There are people actually CELEBRATING NOTRE DAME'S BURNING!!!! Really, they're celebrating a massive lose of history, culture, and architecture because someone's ancestors did some bad things to someone else's ancestors hundreds of years ago!? My God, some people will use any excuse to earn political points! They're all disgusting! (and no, there isn't a Christian bone in my body so don't even come at me with that s***!)

      Don't know anyone personally, but I've been aware of a number of furry artists for example who've had the community turn on them pretty hard.
