At least it has USB! We have an old computer that doesn't even have that – I never use it these days, other than once in a while to play old games or look at files from years ago.

I remember how I thought that having CD-R was cool, (I did had one with black coating instead of usual silver) now I wish I had a decency to use the RW version.

some motherboards still have headers for them (although nobody bothers to hook them up any more) and similarly, some cases have slots which are now used for sd cards or extra usb ports

I have a USB 3½" drive in case I ever need to read such a disk (old Novell servers are all I can think of, and even then, you would run them in vmware these days with a simulated floppy drive, not on actual tin)
