(SPOILERS FOR MAGICAL MYSTERY CURE)Twilight is best Princess- A Character Study
From the very start of the show, Twilight has always stood out to me. It's not because she's the main focus of the show, or even her mental and psychical development. Twilight stood out to me because she was a nerd. Now, this really mattered to me, not only because I could easily identify with her, but also because I barely ever see a nerd being the main character of a show, unless the show's main goal was to educate or all of the character were supposed to have the nerd archetype. Usually, I saw the "nerd" character as a supporting lead, so seeing Twilight be a book nerd and a strong leader really stood out to me.
Now, let's move on to what I really want to address in this character study, why Twilight is best Princess. Now don't get me wrong, I love all the Princesses to an extent, but Twilight is the best one in my eyes, and here are three reasons why.
1.) A big chunk of Twilight's character is her friends. Celly and Luna support each other, sure. Cadance and Shining Armor appear together a lot, also true. But Twilight's reason of becoming an alicorn was because she needed to help her friends, and through that devotion and care for her five besties, it makes every triumph Twilight succeeds in even more well earned. It is an understatement to say Twilight would be nowhere without her friends. Equestria would be nowhere without Twilight and her friends. (As seen in the season 5 finale).
2.) Twilight's care can get the best of her. Now let's move on to one of Twilight's greatest strength and flaw, her care for her friends. On the one side, Twilight's care just shows how much she'll do for her friends, and to what lengths she'll go. On the other, Twilight's need to protect her friends allows her to be subject to one of the flaws of Applejack, she doesn't accept help. This trait was very evident in Twilight for a while, until is was finally addressed directly in the Season 8 finale. Even though this is a flaw, it just goes to show how much she loves her friends.
3.) Twilight's extremely relatable. This reason kind of mixes two reasons to love Twilight: her adorableness and relatability. First off, Twilight is adorable. From her wide range of expressions that could easily match Pinkie Pie to how she cracks under pressure, Twilight's reactions to certain events are just a joy to watch. Secondly, Twilight is just so relatable to me. Her geek outs are hilarious to watch and just fill her with so much character. She easily avoids your typical Mary Sue protagonist.
And that's my character study on Twilight! Next will be Apple Horse!

I have a new favorite show!
MLP: FiM used to be my favorite show, and even though I've often gone back and forth on what my favorite TV show is a lot, I now have decided what my new favorite show is, and am pretty certain this won't change anytime soon. However, to make this more fun, I want to give you all a couple of possibilities of to what my new favorite show is. Note that I love all the following shows.

- Sailor Moon
- Miraculous Ladybug
- The Powerpuff Girls

@Cyclone Well, personally, my favorite is Blake. Partially because I love cats and partially because I love how layered she is with Adam and everything. I don't understand why she's getting some hate now, though.

Getting a tad bit worried about Season 9 now.
Although I'm aware that https://www.thetoptens.com/ is not the most reputable source for pony analysis, when I searched up "Worst My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Episodes", three Season 9 titles were in the top 10. I've already stated my opinions on why some of our fandom may still be a little too harsh, but given how The Top Tens works, either way it's a threatening warning sign.
Basically, The Top Tens is a platform where anyone is allowed to vote on what, for example, they find to be the worst countries to live in, best rappers, etc. What's startling about this, however, is that it's not just one person's opinion. This could go either way; maybe a bunch of uneducated dimwits pressed around on their laptop, or fair, unbiased MLP analyzers really think that three S9 title already deserve spots in the Top 10s. I don't want to dive into the comments section because The Top Tens does not mute spoilers, but if anyone can tell me if the comments are accurate, too harsh, or nonsensical bullshit that be great. I'm always striding to avoid overhype!

Hello again! It's been a while, hasn't it?
I'm guessing a lot has been going on with the pone community, and I will crawl back into this fandom after Season 9 airs on Netflix. (I'm guessing it will, right?) I just came back to announce that I've gotten a second spoiler after going on MLP Wiki out of curiosity, and it's that
SpoilerScootaloo does, in fact, have living parents.
I honestly don't know how to feel about this, but given I don't exactly know the context, I'm refraining from jumping to conclusions about the spoiler.
As for the EG specials, I'm guessing the CYOA one won't be on Netflix, so I guess I'll binge them after Season 9.

There's nothing in canon before S9, but Faust has said in interviews that Scoots isn't an orphan, but they hadn't set in stone her parents' characters in case they wanted to set a story around that.
Faust obviously isn't in charge of the storylines any more, but those who are tend to treat her comments as canon anyhow.

@Phosphor If you have Amazon Prime you can watch it there, and it's released in chunks on Dailymotion. I'm also pretty sure Letupita725HD has a playlist for it.
I'd recommend it, so if you have the time, go ahead and give it a watch!

Sooooooo.... I've got some interesting news to say the least.
Ever since the announcement that FiM's Season 9 will be the last, I've begun to rewatch the episodes from Season 1. While I was watching, I picked up on some tidbits I didn't notice before or just forgot about. Through those tidbits, I'm pretty sure I developed a new "best pony".
Or two, really.
As I did with the "guess my new favorite show" status update, I've proposed a guessing game to see who can guess my new two "best ponies" before I edit my profile. You can look back at my "character reviews" status updates for clues about what I think about the characters, but since I haven't done a status update for Pinkie, AJ, Starlight, or Flutters yet I'll also give my previous rankings of the Mane 7. (I'm including Starlight because she's practically in the gang.)
1.) Rainbow Dash.
2.) Rarity.
3.) Pinkie Pie.
4.) Applejack.
5.) Twilight Sparkle.
6.) Starlight Glimmer.
7.) Fluttershy.

I'll rewatch the entire series after it ends. I've enjoyed most of the episodes I've seen twice (though there aren't many of those) more the second time, so I'm sure it will be awesome!

My favorites back in season 1 were Twilight (my original best pony) and Pinkie (took over from episode 3 onwards). Nowadays, Rarity is my favorite, and I'd say Rainbow Dash is the character who has improved the most.

Okay, so I have two things to address, both involving MLP:FiM S9.
First off, I've already seen MANY spoilers for episode 200, as I should. And strangely enough a lot of the spoilers involve Spike?
Also, since this is the last season of MLP and I want to give myself the best viewing experience possible, I've decided to wait until all the episodes are on Netflix (including Spring Breakdown) and binge watch them old fashioned style.
Will this be excruciatingly difficult to dodge spoilers like bullets AND avoid the anticipation of the new episodes? Yes. But this is the last season of MLP, and I'm hoping to make it memorable.

Well then, after just recovering from my cold I get treated like shit my my friends (excuse my language for anyone who's sensitive with that). I'm really not trying to throw a pity party here, I just sort of need something for this day I've experienced. I don't believe I've ever felt this depressed. I won't go into detail because I'm sure nobody would want to here it. I just sort of want to explain my inactivity on Forums as vaguely as I can manage.

SpoilerSombra's back BABY!! Now, this kind of ruins the whole "comics being canon" thing that I believed, but I'll squeeze in a head canon to make it work.
I'm just SO excited! I'm the kind of person who always jumps on the hype train and grabs as many spoilers as possible, IDKW but I guess I was just made like that. I truly wish I had the energy to dissect this frame by frame, but sadly I do not. Let's just hope S9 is as good as the staff is making it out to be!

I wouldn't dare try something like that myself, I need to watch them all within a few hours, as I always tend to run into spoilers... 
I find positive things about every episode, even if some of them are not quite as good as the others.
