Go back in time to my pre-brony self? After I convinced my past self that I was the future him, I would explain the phenomena of bronies and tell him how awesome the show was. I would trust my future self and believe him. I would trust anything he had to say, actually. The real question you need to ask is if someone ELSE came to your pre-brony self and told you you were going to like My little pony? I wouldn't believe them.

Setting: Equestria is the US and Ponyville is Georgetown University. It's close to Washington D.C. (Canterlot) with the president being a woman (Princess Celestia). Celestia used to be a sociology professor in Georgetown U that eventually became president. Twilight Sparkle goes to college and majors in engineering (magic) and minors in sociology (magic of friendship). To pay the bills while she goes to college she is a librarian at the college. Twi was a protege to Celestia in sociology and she continues to write her reports on her findings in the study (friends) even after Celestia becomes president. Applejack lives in the outskirts of D.C. and runs an apple orchard out in the country. She comes to Georgetown U to take business classes and gain her MBA. She supplies apples to the University as one of her clients. Pinkie Pie is the party animal of Georgetown. During the day she works at the college's bakery and at night she is a raw party animal. Her major is culinary arts. Rainbow Dash is the track star for Georgetown. She got a full ride scholarship there to run . Her life's dream is to become an Olympic athlete (wonderbolts) and eventually become a pilot. She is majoring in aviation. Fluttershy is that shy girl on campus. She is working to become a veterinarian and is taking the prerequisites to get into vet school. She loves nature and animals. Works as a vet technician on campus and has natural talent. Rarity wants to become a fashion designer. She frequently does fashion shows for the school. Her major is textile work with a minor in interior design. Premise: The 'mane 6' become friends and help each other with their college problems. This helps Twi with her sociology research for President Celestia.

Yeah I mean prologue. Preface, prologue, forward, ... I get those mixed up.

Although if it mattered, I suppose it would give a short preface about the mane6 that you could skip if you already knew about the show.

I'll keep this question open ended with no poll. This is not a discussion about what the book would be about. Please only discuss what format the book should be. Would you like a few hundred page soft cover novel to get as much content as you could? A novel comes with a few options as well; such as audio books and e-books. This disadvantage is you get no visuals from an IP that thrives on visuals. Would you like the book as an extended children's style book? This way you get plenty of pictures and visuals. The problem is obvious however. The story might not be deep or long. Would you like a comic? It is sort of a mix between a novel and children's book as you get visuals and story content. Some people don't like reading things in comic format though. Another format? What would you prefer?

All 6 of the ponies are date-able in my opinion, but the problem I run into is how good of quality the relationship would be. In simple terms, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow dash may not want a deep relationship. Rarity might be in love with being with someone, and not because of who I am. Fluttershy, Applejack, and Twilight seem to be capable of having a long, meaningful relationship.

About a week ago I was watching some season one MLP on my Nintendo 3DS Netflix app. I usually watch an episode or two on my bed before I go to sleep. That night, I wanted to go to bed at around 9:30 - 10 so I could watch some MLP and get some good sleep. I told my folks I was going to bed early so I could get a good night of sleep. At that time I had very recently become hooked on the show, and I didn't want my parents to know I watched a "girly" show. After I said good night, I went to my room, closed the door, turned on my fan, and started my 3DS up. I had started to watch the "Fall weather friends" Episode when my mom came storming in! Her hastiness was to quick for me however, and I couldn't close the 3DS in time for her not to see the backlight. She had come inside my room because she wanted to tell me to set my alarm, but instead she got mad at me for using the 3DS "late" and not getting sleep. To make matters worse, she knows that the 3DS has internet browser capabilities. At first she just thought I was playing a game and she asked me to show her it. I told her I couldn't because it was embarrassing. She asked why and I said I couldn't tell her anything. After a few more suspicious answers she started to look at me funny. Right then she jumped to the conclusion that I was looking at porn! Also, the way I was watching MLP on my 3DS was viewable from the doorway, and the instant my mom came through the door the episode was showing Applejack up close. Applejack's coat at first glance closely resembles the color of Caucasian skin, and at a distance it could be mistaken as a nude woman. This is what my mom told me she saw. She started flipping out and said she wasn't leaving my room until she saw what was on my 3DS. I wouldn't admit what I was watching because I thought it was embarrassing for my mom to learn I was a brony. In my mind I was considering if admitting to looking at porn was preferable to my mom learning I was a brony. After much thought I decided to explain the phenomenon of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and it's massive male following. After I explained everything to her we watched the episode together. In the end she laughed and said, "I would rather you look at ponies all day long than look at porn!" I never told my dad. I'll break it to him in steps. The moral of the story is this: there is no "closet brony". You either embrace MLP or you don't watch it. TL; DR I was watching MLP on my 3DS and my mom walked in on me. I closed the 3DS before she could look and she thought I was watching porn because I refused to show her. I eventually showed her what it was and she laughed.

The lack of Rarity votes goes to show that looks isn't everything to the MLP community. Rarity is striking, but at the end of the day we all know its personality.
