      The Römer is a historic building complex in the city center of Frankfurt. It comprises a row of half-timbered buildings that date back to the 15th and 16th centuries. One of the most famous landmarks in the city, The Römer was originally built as a town hall. It was also a residence for Frankfurt’s wealthy merchants. Today, the buildings are used for various purposes. These include a venue for city council meetings, offices for the city administration, and a cultural center.
