  1. It's one of the largest Anime conventions in the Northwest (ranging about 18,000+ attendees every year) but the convention itself is lots of fun. I also went to my first MLP Panels there this year and got lots of Pony related material, including meeting this artist http://katie-w.deviantart.com/ and commissioning a sketch of the Mane 6 for me! Everfree Northwest was also there advertising. I recommend going to Sakura-con if you're in the area. Also I tried going to PAX but tickets sold out fast, it's also a much more larger convention then Sakura-con. I've never been there but from what I heard, it's really busy.
  2. Lucky, I wanted to go to AnimeEvolution that year but I couldn't. I heard it wasent doing so well later on.

I see what you did there

  4. I've gone to mini-conventions before when with my parents when I was younger, but when I got older I decided to go do my own thing. So every year I go to an anime convention called Sakura-con and its a huge anime convention in Seattle. It's once a year. I've attempted to go to other anime conventions and Everfree Northwest, but I'm so busy around those times that I can't make it, but I hope next year I can do more conventions. Oh, and I've been to an Aboriginal Career Fair.
  5. Just got home from the waterslides!

  6. Oh ok, just checking (There's quite a large BC Bronies base in Vancouver if you didn't know (you probably do). Well, ironically I'm leaving to Osoyoos on Wednesday for a few days so it wouldn't work out for me. Maybe in the future though.
  7. Was it a meetup organized by the BC Bronies group or just some other group? That is awesome though!
  8. Not really, or at least, not yet. I'm almost a year into this fandom and I don't feel different. But, this did inspire me to go to my first MLP-Panels at a convention I went to, it was really fun. The morals and points made in the show would have helped changed people, but not me. For some reason I feel like I follow most of those morals and maybe that's why I don't feel so different about myself. It's empowered me to only love and tolerate much more!
  9. Orange! Yeah, that's about right.

  10. Oh I never felt offended or anything. I was just saying that their a lot of groups of furries in the fandom.
  11. I usually just say Furry and that's that. Unless I feel like making more categories, I then start to differentiate each furry and their artistic tastes and likes. Which can take quite a longgggggg time.
  12. Awwww such a cute sketch! I really need to brush up on my art soon. Love how you titled it " Skootaloo pen sketch ".
  13. I thought someone on this thread has already gone through with the whole fallacious idea of " furrism " unless your referring to something else you use as and use a substitute word in place of it.
  14. Well, I couldn't say I was a mainstream furry but I was part of a group of furries known as " Poke'fur's " (Yes, there are such people) which, you probably know, are furries that see themselves as, well, Pokemon. Years ago when I was younger it was what I was and there was quite a large community of them. But I've been kinda unmotivated lately and my participation in roleplays and stuff went down as years past, so now I just like the art and the furries, that's pretty much it really. I'm still evolving I guess. (no pun intended)
  15. Well, trust me on this one, MANY furries I know could careless of MLP and the fandom. It's just their tastes and that's completely fine. But I encourage you to see things from a different perspective. For example, look at me, I'm a furry a little bit and I don't compare the two. I'm sure many others here could agree. You just need to distinguish groups and pinpoint which ones do and which ones don't.
  16. Then you were unfortunate to fall into the wrong crowd of people. As an active member of the biggest Furry communtiy forums FurAffinity I have yet to see a single journal post made by well known artist or just an ordniary member comparing Bronies to Furries. In fact, the only people I hear that compares them are the haters (especially some people on TF2 I have come across in games). And the admins and operators of the site made their point that Bronies and Furries have no connection what so ever, just two different fandoms.
  17. Wow, that's quite a long time, but that's really neat to study in a country like that for that long. I guess it's not that bad then, I don't know then. it depends on where at and who's going (My parents are a bit overprotected about all this stuff).
  18. Your leaving to Germany for good or just for school? I would love to go to a local meetup, but I live all the way out in the Fraser Valley and would be tough to get a ride in and our of that city.
  19. Furries are, in short, people who see themselves as Anthromorphic Animals (or equivalents to other animal like bodies), they see themselves with the same attributes as an animal in the wild. That is why most have their own fursona (much like we have a ponysona) to represent their self in an animal like way. There are many different type of furries though. http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Furry
  20. It never bothered me one bit, just like many other groups of people. It seems interesting though that people were into ponies though.
  21. Welcome to the forum! You came to the right place to talk ponies. Hope you enjoy wondering around this magical forum of ponies and fun. ~

  23. Lucky you! I'll try to see if I can go, seeing that they are saying that they still have a whole bunch left.
