  1. I think there are already per-existing topics about furries. But the more the merrier! Anyways, I myself am a furry, but not as big as one then what I was years ago. But I frequently check some furry sites/forums and look at the cool art some artists post. But I don't do many roleplays based around them like I used to, I'm really lazy on that kind of stuff. But yea, I have no issue with furries, I see it as a lifestyle/preference kind of thing.

  3. The composer Steffan Andrews just pointed out BronyCan as well on facebook. I have a feeling BronyCan's going to have lots of guests.
  4. Well, whatever works for you! If you have the time and money and if this convention seems promising for you then try to make it out! I'm sure if you try to find someone you know online that is going in the future you could possibly save money by carpooling/sharing hotel rooms. @Rainbow Dashey: You should be able to come across with a passport, maybe convince them its some sort of pop-cultural/anime convention or something and they decided to use ponies as a mascot!
  5. As far as I know, the only countries that have had huge brony conventions would be BronyCon (New Jersey, USA), Everfree Northwest (Seattle, USA), B.U.C.K. (United Kingdom) and Galacon (Germany). Canterlot Gardens is scheduled to be in Ohio in the U.S. this year.
  6. Depending if your in the Southern area of your province, you could possibly try going to local U.S. Brony conventions that may be around those parts, or maybe another Canadian brony con will come up near where you are as well!
  7. Looks like Michelle Creber has already found out about BronyCAN, possible future guest? She is a British Columbian you know.
  8. Well again, it is a traveling convention so they should be going to Ontario in the future years! British Columbia is probably their best starting point because many of them people that work on the show reside in the province, so, it be easy for guests to come!
  9. Edit: Thanks to Senn for suggesting to edit the title. I should have remembered that this is a convention for not just B.C. bronies, but the entire brony population of Canada and International ones. It is a traveling convention. Some of you probably know about BronyCAN which is a big facebook group for bronies in Canada, but also to those nearing the boarders of the North. But recently BronyCAN just launched their site and have announced that they will host the first national brony convention in Canada! And they picked British Columbia as their first spot! Some say it's in Vancouver, but they have yet to officially announce the city or town. More info is found here: http://www.bronycan.com/index.html I don't mean to advertise, but this could be a great place in the future for a MLP Forums meetup for some on this forum, including Feld0! Summer 2013 --- Something to consider! I'm just going to keep this as a BronyCAN thread, for the other event I posted earlier will go into another thread at some point in the future.
  10. So I heard there is going to be a big brony convention for British Columbia, could this be true?

  12. I told some ponies that I would post some pictures and share my pony experiences at both conventions this year, both had LOTS of pony related content and it is ever growing. I also saw familiar faces from both conventions and the content that they showed and pulled through was amazing. Forgive me for the poor camera quality though, my phone sucks with taking pictures. Firstly, Sakura-Con: For 2012 the pony was HUGE, so many bronies were there and they had great MLP panels. I went to my first MLP panel there and it was organized by some of the staff who also help run Everfree Northwest. The panel was bigger then that if you were to add in the back part of the room. They had played a few songs to sing along and talked about Everfree Northwest, but they also held a cosplay contest! Winners got signed DVDs by Tara Strong. It was a debate between the Big Mac and the Octavia (She even had the cello) but Big Mac won. BUT, it did not end there! Later on in the evening one of the AMV theatres showed My Little Pony AMV Hell! And they played the good ol' Anthology I and other music videos and everyone had a good laugh including myself. But sadly, the pony panels were over for the conventions... But, I ran into a lot of bronies and got a ton of brohoofs and enjoyed the atmosphere, I felt truly connected for the first time to the brony community and really went out of my ways to come out of the closet and be myself as a brony. I even wore my friends 20% Cooler shirt But hey its an anime convention, your supposed to be yourself! There were many great pony cosplayers. including a Derpy that gave me mail from her homemade Equestria Mail bag. The dealers supplied many pony related items, some that also went to Everfree later on. But I got some good pony merch. I also got to meet Katie Williamson, the one artist that is well known for the Disney Princess pony picture! She did a commission for me. There were many other great artists there as well. I also got to meet up with some more Everfree Northwest staff and talked about the convention at their booth. But then it was the sad day I had to leave Seattle and go home, giving my friend a good hug and goodbye for now until the next convention. I had a blast. Here some stuff I got from the convention there: THEN IN AUGUST I WENT TO COS & EFFECT 2012 IN VANCOUVER FOR SATURDAY! Now I made sure that I would take LOTS of pictures and I did! First I went with my friend and we met up with others we knew. I also recognized many bronies and cosplayers from Sakura-Con and have gone to Everfree, goes to show its a small world. Now the convention was a lot smaller then Sakura-Con, 1500+ to 18,000+ is a huge difference, but it was great for the day and I needed to get something more out of my summer before school started again. But there were a lot of people. Some cosplays I got to get pictures from. My favorite is the Princess Chrysalis, I think she did a good job with the outfit! Then I went to the first MLP panel called Cosplay is Magic: They covered the good, bad and the ugly of MLP cosplay, it was a decent panel. After that, we wondered around a bit more because the AMV Pony panel which was the next one we wanted to go to did not start til later on in the evening so I visited the dealers room and artists alley and bought some stuff, I even saw some familiar faces artists from Sakura-Con! And again, I met and talked with some bronies and they shared their experiences about Everfree Northwest (I couldn't go because I had other family events to go to that weekend ) and it sounded like they had an amazing time. Also, more brohoofs! Then the AMV Ponies in Hell panel began and they played Anthology I like they did back at Sakura-Con, so it was good to see that again. Then we had to go, it was 10pm in the evening and we were dead tired and didn't get back home till midnight. I immediately went to bed when I got home. zzz Oh I almost forgot to show my merch from Cos & Effect! here: I LOVE THE SHIRT, I wore it for the day and many bronies and non bronies loved it Along with the buttons I had on. Anyways, that was my big pony experience this year at the conventions. There are some upcoming ones nearby and they plan on having some voice actors from the show there, so maybe I will have to drag myself to them. Thanks for reading!
  13. Got home last night from Cos & Effect 2012, I crashed without coming on because I was sooo tired. But I got to see lots of great anime stuff, including lots of pony! I even got to talk to alot of bronies that went to Everfree NW and other meetups and yea it was all great.

  14. I'll be heading to an anime convention in Vancouver for the day! Hopefully I will meet up with some bronies and I will remember to take lots of pictures and see if there is some pony stuff to buy. :P

It's a great alternative of an anime convention if you like to watch your budget and prefer not to go to bigger local anime conventions around the area like Anime Revolution ( Nearly 70 bucks a ticket, Yikes! ) or going all the way out to Seattle for Sakura-con (which I still do and I have to upload those pictures and show off my pony experience from that place) but Cos & Effect is at the UBC campus, it was only a 30 dollar ticket, pretty affordable!

Whoa, that is a good price! Sounds awesome :) Have fun!

      I'm sure you'll meet some bronies ;)

  15. I loveeee History. I study a lot of political history, especially early American and International. As well as World War II and certain portions of other wars.
  16. I'm honestly surprised no one has brought up Egoraptor yet, that guy has made me laugh a lot with his animations of parody's of games.
  17. Just a quicky: Is anyone out there in the Vancouver area going to Cos & Effect this weekend?

I heard that some of them are going to do they pinkiequest, which is marching down a street with a large paper picture of Pinkie Pie to the convention, but that is today and I'm going tomorrow lol.

  18. Well, Deism isint listed on the poll, but I suppose spiritualism is close enough. I find myself connected with my own god, but I rely on reason and nature to decide a lot of my morals.
  19. Wow! That is phenomenal! I think it's cute and professional. I also love the font used. Teach me your ways...
  20. Well they did just have Galacon which one of the first big Brony conventions in Germany. I heard it was really good despite EQD not getting much of the coverage until later on.
