No wonder Zero's so much more of a badass than X. The Megaman Zero games are my favorite Megaman subseries.

Truth be told, I X more than Zero =p

Halo 3: Crow's Nest

This was my favorite easter egg from the Halo series so far:

If you round this corner on any difficulty, you will be presented with one of the three scenes, based on which difficulty you're playing.

Easy/Normal = Two marines conversing

Heroic = Simmons trying to get Grif to open the door.

Legendary = Church trying to get Caboose to open the door.

Such a great nod to the fans of RoosterTeeth and Bungie!

Oh jeez, I got a YouTube series devoted to this kind of stuff.

Well, I got quite a few of these.

  • In Japanese versions of Pokemon Red, a default name for your character is "Satoshi", and a default name for your rival is "Shigeru", as a reference to Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri and Nintendo bigshot Shigeru Miyamoto.
  • Microsoft and Nintendo tried to work together to create a Halo game for the DS. It failed miserably.
  • The Spy in TF2 is based on a glitch from the original Team Fortress where players would occasionally appear as if they were on the opposite team.
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising mistakenly depicts Medusa and Pandora as goddesses. They were merely a monster and a human, respectively.
  • Due to the dissolution of Clover Studios, practically any reference made to them in Okami had to be removed from the Wii and PS3 versions. As such, the PS2 version is the only one with proper credits.
  • In Batman: Arkham Origins, you can play as Adam West.
  • Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi are all voiced by the same person: Charles Martinet. He also voiced Paarthurnax from Skyrim.

I have much, much more. I'll be back later.  ;)

Indeed.

Well, since it's one of my favourite games and I've played it to death; Zelda: Oracle of Ages contains a handful of spelling errors/dialogue mistakes:

-There's a character in Deku Forest in the past who refers to Mystery Seeds as Mystical Seeds.  OK, that one's pretty acceptable. Scratch that, just looked this up and it turns out "Mystical Seeds" is an umbrella term for all the different seeds in the game.

-When you visit Impa in Nayru's home to acquire the Harp of Ages, Impa comments on "drafts from above" hinting at the secret room.  Thing is, Nayru's house is a small tree, clearly only 1 story tall, and when you find the secret room, the stairs lead into a basement, not a second floor.

-When you first learn the Tune of Ages, the game declares you've learned the "Tune of Time".

Hm, I'm certain I remember noticing a new one recently in the dialogue when you first learn the Tune of Currents, but the specific error eludes me at the moment.  Oh well.

-Similarly, in Link's Awakening DX, the dialogue for when you find the Stone Beaks is rather messily worded: "Let's find the owl statue that belongs to it."  Shouldn't that be, "that it belongs to"?

-It's become fairly common knowledge at this point that Kangaskhan was the first Pokémon created, though that statement is slightly erroneous.  Gengar and Nidorino were invented prior to Pokémon as a whole, as they were characters in Satoshi Tajiri's Capsule Monsters manga and were later re-purposed into Pokémon.  This seems a likely reason why they appear in the classic Pokémon Red opening animation.

-The official Zelda Timeline made a liar out of A Link to the Past ("And the Master Sword sleeps again, forever!").  Just sayin'.

-This one is largely slowpoke-ing on my part, but me and my brother never realized until very recently that in Super Metroid, the jingle that the wall-jumping bear creatures (who appear in an optional, hidden room) sing is rendition of the fanfare played when you obtain an upgrade.  Maybe somebody else never noticed too.

Wow! So many people have posted on this already! I should get in on this!

Here's a little theory I came up with:

In Mega Man and Bass, one of Bass' moves was the double jump right? Then, in Mega Man 9, we see Bass' blueprints I'm the background when you beat Dr. Wily, indicating that Wily was giving Bass an "upgrade". Later in Mega Man 10, where Bass is a DLC, he no longer has his double jump! This may mean that during Mega Man 9, Wily was taking away Bass' double jump in case Bass were to rebel against Wily again. Very smart Dr. Albert W. Wily!

Thanks to WheatleyCore for the sig! BTW, yes, I do realize that's Carnage and not Shenron.

Actually, Rhydon was the first Pokemon they made.

The Hedgehog Claws in Kid Icarus: Uprising may be a reference to Sonic the Hedgehog, since they give you a slight speed boost.

While creating Silver, SEGA actually compared him to Trunks from Dragonball Z.

The character designer for the Dragon Quest series is Akira Toriyama, creator of Dr. Slump, Sand Land, and Dragonball, among many other manga/anime!

In "South Park: The Stick of Truth", you see something really "interesting" involving a horse.

PUAGH, NO WAY I'D EVER DO "THAT" TO A HORSE  :eww:

Birdo from the Mario series is really a homosexual dude

While Porsche has never been in the Gran Turismo series, a 996 GT3 appears in the game's code and can be unlocked via an Action Replay, but only in PAL region versions of the game.

This is most likely because Kazunori Yamauchi (creator of the series and producer) actually owns one and he managed to get away with it.

Also, all of the open wheel cars that would compete in the Formula GT series (or whatever it was called) are REAL F1 cars. All but one of them (F687/S, F688/S, F090/S, and F094/S) was driven by Ayrton Senna. The ones that wasn't was the F686/M and the F094/H, which were driven by Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill respectively.

In either Call of Duty Ghosts or BO 2, on a certain multiplayer map, you can find Thor's Hammer

Mew was put into Pokemon Red and Green only about 2 weeks before their release.

In Five Nights at Freddy's, each animatronics name is alliterative to its species: Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate Fox. The exception is Freddy, who is alliterative with his surname, Fazbear. The game was inspired when Scott Cawthon, the developer, was told that a previous game he had made, Chipper & Son's Lumber Co. had charecters that looked scary and animatronic.

The Sega opening to Sonic the Hedgehog (the original) took up about 1/8 of the cart's data.

Pokemon Stadium was actually the second of the pokemon stadium games released, the first was Japan- Exclusive.

Urial Septim in Oblivion was voiced by Patrick Stewart.

James Woods loved repising the role of Hades in Hercules so much, that he voiced Hades in Kingdom Hearts.
