movies/tv X-Men: Days of Future Past

I just watched this movie about a day ago and I'd have to say it's one of the best movies I've ever seen and easily passes as the greatest comic book/superhero film ever created and has only raised the bar for superhero movies. It's even better than The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2 and easily far superior to anything Marvel Studios has produced. Everything it has set out to achieve, it has exceeded. From the script, plot, acting, directing.

Has anyone seen this film and what are your thoughts on it?

I've seen it, and I think it's a well worthy addition to the series, altho' I think they should've renamed it "Mystique" or "The Mystique", since almost the entire movie centers on her and what she must go through, hehe.

I've seen it and I love it for the fact that it did what needed to be done for X-men to be put anywhere near the same level as the Marvel cinematic universe is.

It cleaned up the mess it made with X-men 3 where they killed so many characters off that they could not continue and removed X-men origins which was just a bad film.

Haven't seen it, but as far as I know, X-Men are a Marvel property. So this movie is also from Marvel Studios.

Movies wise, X-men isn't owned by Marvel at the moment the rights belong to Fox so Marvel can't use any of the X-men or the word "mutants" in there movies.... aside from Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.

Its so same deal with Spider-man who is owned by Sony

Like, I enjoyed the film and thought it was good but:

It felt very long and to drag on a points. I liked the fact that they can now re do a lot and I thought the story was clever and worked well, but there are a few plot holes and a lot of weird unexplained stuff which just didn't seem to make sense!

I guess that's the problem with time travel! It was probably one of the best x men fils, but no way near the best super hero film for me. Things like iron man and spider man and batman where all better in my opinion, but I do like the fact that men will now continue and they can do a lot more with it, so I look forward to future films :)

One thing that must be taken into account about Days of Future Past is that it was, at its core, a lead-in to the next X-men movie. All they really needed was a way to bring back the characters they killed off with the shitstorm that is X3. The fact that it was a good movie without intending to be really makes me wanna see the next X-Men.

It was...um...nice.

It's probably just a childhood dream that will forever go unfulfilled, but this just wasn't the X-Men movie I wanted.  I really wanted just the apocalyptic future war and nothing else.  That stuff was so badass, and there wasn't enough of it.  But that's not to say the movie wasn't good.  It was.  Good.  Not spectacular, imo, but solid and good.  Lotta continuity stuff I don't quite get, though.  Where the hell did Katie's time travel power come from?  Like...wha?  And they glossed over the professor (the patrick stewart professor, that is) being alive again, dispite Jean killing him.  Was that simply because they wanted to pretend that that idiotic decision never happened?  I'd be fine with that, honestly, but I just want to know what the deal-e-o was.

But isn't it interesting how many parodies we got in this movie?  Let's see, we have Fry on 100 cups of coffee, these aren't the droids you're looking for, thinking with portals, and then the entire climax was the race to get Neo out of the Matrix before the sentinels kill everyone.  And they were both called sentinels!

Oh yes, and let's not forget...

I enjoyed it, but I don't consider it in the same league as First Class. Days of Future Past, besides straying heavily from the comic, felt badly paced, almost like filler, and did not share the same character development and feels that First Class gave us.

DoFP felt like a popcorn movie. First Class felt like an epic saga.

I'm not overly fond of films where time-travel is a crucial plot device, since it tends to be easily messed up, so um... yeah I didn't like the movie all that well.

I enjoyed it a lot. But I liked First Class better.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.
