Is impossible to get it "right" because the front view on the show has inconsistent anatomy with most other views. There is something so charming about the 2D animation they have now that also allows them to better execute slapstick, which just can't be replicated as well in 3D. At the moment, the build of their skulls changes from side to 3/4 to front view. You can get away with that for the sake of aesthetic in 2D animation. That's not the case for 3D. Personally, I tend to prefer 2D with a few notable exceptions. (Low budget 2D looks worlds better than low budget 3D, and budget is an important consideration for a TV series.) Shanks 10,816 June 7, 2014 Share June 7, 2014 I am not saying it can't be done but I have a really hard time picturing it, 3D animation is still relatively new technology and is very expensive in order to actually do something like MLP justice. Also I think 3D is seriously overrated even when it is done well it looks so artificial and mechanical in many cases where traditional animation tends to look more natural.
