gaming Do you think Star Fox is Nintendo's most innovative franchise?

I got into Nintendo because of Star Fox 64. To me it's the best game one of the best games on the console. Now I am mad at Nintendo for not making a proper Star Fox game since Assault. But I will sum up the game in a brief manner. I haven't played Assault in a while, so forgive me.

Star Fox 64 aka Lylat Wars: This game was a remake of the original SNES game that I never played. It has a japanese sequel Star Fox II which is in its own universe. But Star Fox 64 is just an amazing game and still stands the test of time since 1997. The medals are actually pretty tough to get. Also expert mode is kinda hard if you're not careful. It's also to me one of Nintendo's most dramatic games. You have the on rail shooting mode and then all range mode for certain boss fights. You have branching paths for multiple play throughs. I still think it's the best game in the series

Star Fox Adventures: Star Fox with Zelda lol. It works and this game is better than Assault. You get to learn about Fox McCloud and his crew more. We also have the debut of Krystal   a crush from my childhood. I mean sure the arwing was a bit hokey. But it was focused on the ground and it shows that Fox is not just a pilot warrior. I mean he goes around killing dinosaurs with a staff. NOT a blaster!

Assault: I think this is a great game. It is MILES MILES better than Command. I like how we get better pilot controls as opposed to Adventures.. But the ground mission segments are simply awkward and horrible. You don't get your team mates on the ground. You always do ground missions solo. I even like that Star Wolf has to help you out at the end. This is the last canon game to me.

I wouldn't really say that it is their most innovative franchise (games like Mario, for example, come to mind with how it practically shocked the videogaming world), but it is easily one of my favorites, and I'm one of the few who has it as his favorite franchise from Nintendo. And then there's this... :D

Dirt is better than Command, my friend. But I'm happy to see another Star Fox fan in the forums.

Which is your favorite, if I might ask?

I love that video.

"Gee, I guess I should be thankful, well f*ck you!"

"No Falco, f*ck you."

Yo, @TheMarkz0ne. As this topic deals with video games I have moved it from General Discussion to Media Discussion. The latter is best suited for any sort of media discussion including video games, whether one wishes to discuss a specific video game or more generally discuss a game company or the gaming sphere.

General Discussion is best suited for discussion topics that do not fit elsewhere. :)

I wouldn't say it's innovative, despite it being a great series. The only games I can say are innovative are SNES(Super FX chip, one of two games on the SNES to use 3D graphics) and SF64(rumble, voice acting)
