((@@Lightning Bliss, Thanks for letting us know :) ))

Hurricane was a little taken back when Lightning Bliss approached her. She didn't think the princess would want to concern herself with a troublemaking pegasus. "The scenery? I guess it's alright." she said. "It's nothing like the sky though. The mountains and the view of the sunset and sunrise." Hurricane started to get lost in her description, looking up into the sky with longing eyes. "The scenery from the cities in the skies are truly breathtaking." She then looked down at the ground. "I just wish I could still see it." she said quietly. Then she snapped back to reality. "Why do you care what I think anyway?" she said curiously with a slight hint of anger in her voice.

@,

"I don't care," Bliss said bluntly back, "just as you don't care what happends to me. I care about getting our group out of here...Like it or not for you and me as well, you are part of the group. If you're done 'staring' at the scenery', you mind getting up and move it? Or you rather we just leave you here. Because quite frankly, I know you don't care what I think, but any pony would feel bad leaving one of our own behind cause he or she is too prideful to admit she needs a little help..."

She sighed, feeling like she was being too blunt and added into it. "You can call me a stupid, spoild brat alicorn all you want and I won't say anything in defense...Just get up...so we can all get out of here in one piece..." She then proceeded to stand next to the pegasus' side. She was equally just as tall as Hurricane, if not slightly smaller, but she still summoned her Apploosa leg strengh, and nudged her side gently and slowly, pushing her to her feet while supporting her weight. "On your feet already...we're burning daylight..."

"Lightning Bliss is right Hurricane, let's get a move on already while we can still travel with the sun on our backs." Blaze got up from the cold grass and walked to Hurricane and Lightning Bliss, "I'd help you move her, but I'm a bit worried she might hit me", he said to the both of them with intentional honesty.

@@Lightning Bliss, @,

The words, "I don't care" pierced Hurricane. She knew a lot of ponies didn't really care about her. She was just the pony who hung around the outskirts of towns and was a petty thief. She had known that none of them cared about her, but it was the first time it had never been told to her before, and when it was, the pain was almost worse than the one in her side. She just pushed back the pain to the back of her mind and held in her emotion. It didn't do much when she was hit by another mental blow. At that moment, she was useless, absolutely useless. She was a dead weight. She hadn't done anything to help the group. She had tried, but each time, it seemed to backfire in one way or another. The only reason she was trying to hide her pain was to not seem useless, but it obviously hadn't worked. The only reason Lightning Bliss was helping her probably was to save herself from her own guilt. the alicorn couldn't care less whether Hurricane lived or died.

She winced when Lightning Bliss pushed herself into Hurricane's side. She knew she had to accept the help. She wouldn't be able to walk on her own. All Hurricane did was hang her head low and try to speed up her walking without saying a word. She felt defeated by all the different emotional pains and hurt. She felt like she was lower than low. Hurricane again pushed all her hurt to the side and lifted her head up and got a spiteful look in her eye. I'm not useless. she said to herself sounding fed up. I'm better than this. I don't need any of them. She then gave an angry glare to Lightning Bliss and pulled herself away from the alicorn. "I don't need help!" she snapped at her. She then started walking slightly faster, wincing with every step. It took every ounce of her will power not to collapse to the ground.

Blaze looked at Lightning Bliss, "See if I would've tried to help her, she probably would've hit me", he walked next to Hurricane but kept a bit of distance between him and her. "I understand the self pride thing Hurricane, but how far do you think you're going to make it with those wounds? At least let us mend them before you faint and one of us decides to carry you to the new destination. Please just let is help you, please."

@,

Hurricane looked to Blaze. "It's more than pride." she said still with an intense look. She looked away and kept on walking. The pain grew worse. She started to stumbled, but kept going on. She wanted to show that she wasn't useless. That she could take care of herself. After she took a few more steps, she stumbled one last time before completely collapsing. she was still conscious, but her vision started to get fuzzy. Hurricane could feel the doubts and anxieties creeping up on her again. She tried to get back up, but to no avail. She kept struggling. She didn't want to let herself down. She didn't want to prove that she was just a dead weight.

Everlast, watched as the others attempted to help Hurricane and sighed. He slowed down to meet them, and watched as Hurricane shoved the others away and fell flat on her face. He knelt down in front of her and began to probe the wounds with his magic. "I applaud your stubbornness, I really do. Right now though, it is just being a pain in the flank. We have been on the road for not even a full two days, and we have already been attacked twice. We really aren't going to get very far if each day is the same and then we have to waste hooves carrying you."

Everlast rose to his feet, without wings to hurt, His ribs suffered in their place.

"Understand this. Princess Twilight herself would be nothing without her friends. The element of magic doesn't work unless all of the other elements are present. Think if a single one was removed from the picture... the other elements become useless. Together the wielders and magic become greater than the sum of ponies in jewelry."

He struck a mock thinking pose. "Now that I mention it, isn't that how it always works? Teamwork I mean, don't really need jewelry. By covering the weaknesses of the others, one allows them to do what they do best without worry."

He leaned in to whisper, "Long story short. You can't face the world completely alone. I'm sure you understand this, but just won't admit it. Now come. I believe you could get up now."

@, Clover came over. Much as she disliked the pegasus mare, she didn't hate her. In a way, she could almost understand the whole need to be independant. Clover had steadfastedly refused to be set up in a castle, saying that as Princess of Magic she could still operate from her house in Trottingham. She needed to be near to her friends. And Princess Celestia had agreed, and let her be, even tho there was already an alicorn living in Trottingham, cuz her role and Prince Starlight's roles were so different.

"Hurricane," Clover said. "I know you don't want to accept help, but how about a fair exchange instead? If you let me help you; I could perform a healing spell so that you can move easier... then you could help me in return."

Blaze tried to move closer to Hurricane to seal any cuts on her body whilst everyone was pitching in with magic to help her, but as soon as he took another step, his splitting head ache returned, this time worst than the last. Blaze backs up and held his head straight with his hooves. "Jesus what is this?" He mumbled to himself, finally convincing himself to sit down for a second, he tried to get his head working again, but to no avail. 'Of all the problems here, a head ache shouldn't be a priority' he said to himself.

@, @, @@Pripyat Pony, @@purple.teal,

While all the ponies rallied around Hurricane, Bliss took a step back and sat down, her back facing them to keep watch since they weren't fully out of Diamond Dog Territory yet. Not really controlling her tears...she didn't fully understand why she was crying, just another reason to face her back to the others... she didn't want Hurricane to see her cry.

Why am I crying? She asked herself as she sniffed quietly so no pony could hear, she doesn't want our help let alone ours...Let's just get up and move on...some stallion can carry her...But she said she doesn't want help...why am I crying for her? Then she realized it... Hurricane reminded her of her father. Fire Strength. He never did except any pony's help, he always fended for himself. Even when her parents divorced, and other mares would try to get lucky with him, and comfort his broken heart, he refused their affections...saying 'I don't need any mare... I DONT NEED ANYPONY'....But he died... not more then a year after he and mother divorced...All because of his stubborn...and pride...I lost him...my family lost him...

Then...abruptly her sadness boiled into rage...Father left us...cause he was too pridful and stubborn to admit he needed us in his life...He died of his own stupid ego...Just...Just like...

"YOU ARE A STUBBORN IDIOT!" She blurted out indirectly before turning on the group, fuming at Hurricane, "You don't like it when anypony helps you, so we back off! You don't like it when any pony gives you space! So we get close! Only to get bit in the flank for it! When I try to tell you what you want ot hear, YOU BITE ME IN THE FLANK AGAIN!" She got up and stomped over to the pegasus, snorted everypony else to back off, "YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU..." breathes, "You are a stubborn, stupid mare! Your stubborness is going to get you killed...You'll die, and leave the rest of us here wondering what we could have done to pervent it...leaving us with years of pain and guilt... But it wouldn't be our fault now would it?! WOULD IT!? Because it was your own stupid pride and stubborness...that eventually kills you..." she turned her head away for a second as angry tears falled down, "just like...it did to my father..." She turned then and snorted, "Well I'm not going to let it happen to you...I'm not going to let your stupid pride and stubborness get you killed! COME ON!" She abruptly, forced her head under Hurricane's belly, throwing her down her neck till she slid down onto her back. "I'm carrying you out of here whether you LIKE IT OR NOT! I WON'T LEAVE YOU HERE TO DIE OF PRIDE!"

She then stomped towards the edge of the forest while turning to the others, "LET'S GO!"

@@purple.teal,

Hurricane first listened to Everlast. The words "You can't face the world completely alone." stood out her. "I am completely alone." she said to herself.

@@Pripyat Pony,

She turned her attention to Clover. "And what exactly would I help with?" she asked angrily. "Everything I've done so far has either backfired or turned out to be useless."

@@Lightning Bliss,

Hurricane was surprised by Lightning Bliss's explosion. "first of all Princess," Hurricane started, "I enjoy my space! And don't ever say you know what I want to hear, Princess!" she yelled firmly at her. "A stupid mare?!" she yelled out. Those words hit Hurricane with a blow, but she didn't want the hurt to consume her, so she fought back. "Well at least I'm not a prissy white mare who only care about herself, Clarice!" she yelled out before catching her mistake. "I mean, Princess." she corrected herself. Then she was picked up. This reminded Hurricane of something stubborn she would do. Before she had a had a chance to say anything about it, she noticed Blaze and knew something was wrong with his head. "Wait, help Blaze." she said to the group.

@, Clover walked besides Lightning, who was carrying Vitani. She thought about her secret, but then, what was the point of it? Everypony in the group would know about it, sooner or later. Better to try and take a chance now of fixing things, and possibly helping this mare see things straight.

"I've seen you fly," she replied. "You're a natural in the air. I on the other hoof, am not. These wings were given to me, and I haven't used them yet, cuz I don't know how. I was too proud to ask my pegasus friend for help with flying and now I see how useless such pride is when it could get me hurt or hurt others. So, I ask you. Will you help me?"

@@Pripyat Pony,@,

Bliss was in such an angered sadden state, her mind flooded with memories of her father that she barely heard the arrogance of Hurricane's pitiful outburst back at her... The only pony's voice that seemed to ring into her large ears was Clover's, asking of all mares...Hurricane...to help her to fly. She smiled a bit at that, at least she understood the dangers of pride and stubbornness...but she wasn't about to put Hurricane down till they were out of the danger zone.

"I thought you wanted me to help you fly?" She asked Clover as her voice toned a bit from rage to huffing, "I know I'm an alicorn but I was a pegasus once too...Then again though," she glared an eye at Hurricane, "she's a natural in the air no doubt about that. She'd probably teach you more if not better. But I hope this doesn't put a dent on you teaching me a bit of magic while we travel?"

Hurricane heard blaze claim he was alright, but Hurricane doubted it. she still decided to leave it alone, if it was really bad, he would say something. She then turned her attention to Clover. "You can't fly?" Hurricane said rather shocked. She was also taken back, by Lightning Bliss actually agreeing with Clover. She was about to let out an insult before she thought about it. This could be an opportunity to prove you can be helpful and they actually think your good at something. she thought. "Ok, I'll help you." she said. "But I'm kind of out of commission at the moment." @@Pripyat Pony,

Hurricane thought for a moment. They actually wanted her to help. She felt strange about it, but it also made her fell kind of good inside. She felt wanted and valued. @, "No need to worry about that," Clover replied. "You'll feel a slight tickling sensation as I work the spell; nothing more sinister than the feel of somepony tickling your wing with a feather." She smiled, to show that she'd gotten that Hurricane was just teasing her, and concentrated her magic to perform the wing healing spell. In fact, she'd created the spell to help her friend Lightning, after he'd broken his wing by crashing. He'd feared that he wouldn't get better in time for his first day at Wonderbolt Academy, so Clover had stayed up all night working on a spell to fix his wing as good as new.

Clover's horn glowed green, and her magic shot out and enveloped Hurricane's injured wing with green light. Hurricane would feel the pain leaving her, and the tickling sensation as described by Clover. Clover kept the spell working til the wing was completely better.

"How does it feel now?" she asked.

Hurricane watched her wing as the pain slowly vanished. It twitched a few times due to the tickling of the magic. After it was all finished, Hurricane got off Lightning bliss, who was supporting her, and marveled at her wing moving it in and out. Her ribs were still a little sore, but she could tolerate it.  Hurricane was always amazed by magic. She did a little flip in the air and when she landed, she pulled out her dagger from her uninjured wing and did a couple fighting moves to the air.

((OOC: Thanks Lightning Bliss for keeping this on track while I was gone. I was actually in a blackout for a couple of days, so of course I couldn't respond, but now I'm back!))

Raze walked along quietly with the group, silently observing the map, on where they were supposed to go. Now that the little skirmish with the Diamond Dogs had passed and they got their things back, they could finally get back on track.

Let's see... he thought to himself, looking carefully at the map. The next place we should head to is...

----------------------

Back at the Diamond Dog caves

------------------------

The dogs were frantically running about, confused and angry that their new pony prisoners had escaped. One of the main dogs, who was wearing a red vest, shouted in anger.

"Ponies think they escape, think they run free!! But we show them... we use one pony against them!!!"

He walked over to one cage, which contained a unicorn stallion wearing a Stetson hat and a long coat.

"You, pony! You work for us! Capture prisoners!"

The unicorn looked up at them, and spoke to them with an Apploosan accent.

"Oh, sure thing! What else can I do you for? Maybe a foot rub, or a jugglin' act? Maybe make ya'll some cider?" he said sarcastically.

The dog stomped in anger. "Quiet, pony! We make deal... you capture ponies... we let you go... we no lie." Despite being stupid, the dog knew that he could spare this one prisoner, who barely did what they captured him for, for six other prisoners... especially the floppy-eared one.

The unicorn looked up at that. Freedom for capturing escaped prisoners?

"Hmmm... one condition. You give me my things back, along with a small cut of your finest gems, and I get 'em for ya. We clear?"

The dog thought about it, then shook his head.

"No! No things! No gems! Get ponies NOW!" He pointed outside.

The unicorn yawned, then laid back in his prison.

"On second thought, I think I'll stay here. This cell is pretty comfy..."

The dog once again stomped in anger. They couldn't pick anyone else they captured to do it, this one had... special abilities, as he put up quite a fight before he was captured.

"...FINE! We give you stuff back..."

The unicorn looked up at him. "Annnnd?"

The dog grimaced. "And gems..."

The unicorn stood. "Ain't that mighty kind of you! You got yourself a deal."

The dogs opened up the cage to let him out, and another dog quickly ran to retrieve his stuff and gems. He didn't have a lot, only a deck of playing cards bundled together by a small leather belt.... cards with sharpened edges to be exact. The cards didn't have suits on them, or anything; the faces of the cards just had a picture of two chains coming from the edges of the card forming an "X". The dog also gave him two pouches which contained handfuls of various expensive gems... rubies, emeralds, sapphires, even some diamonds. The unicorn smiled as he took his things and the gems.

"Thank you kindly," he said, tipping his hat, as he walked towards the exit.

"You will find ponies, correct?" The dog with the red vest asked him. The unicorn turned around to look at him.

"Count on it. After all..."

He took a card from his deck, and imbued it with his magic. The chain X disappeared, and on the card was a projection of Raze's group walking in the forest.

"It's all in the cards." He threw the card up in the air, and the projection disappeared, now becoming a dark green card with an eye symbol on it. All of a sudden, other cards like it began to slide out of it, alt as if the card he threw were one, big, hidden deck. They began to surround him, swirling and covering him from head to hoof. The swirling group of cards then began to merge back into one card, looking as if they were sliding into each other, and the unicorn was gone. The green card was left fluttering in the air, until it too disappeared in a flash of light.

As the group was brought back to peak condition, Everlast felt his heart lighten. For once, he didn't feel like sticking his nose in a book. I should thank the alicorn for bringing them back before I forget. Instead, he interested himself in watching the rest of the group. The variety in everypony's look and demeanor made him chuckle a bit. This is turning out to be the most exciting journey I've taken to date. I've already got a stockpile of Starswirl's relics waiting for archiving, I get first first hand experience with three alicorns, and if all works perfectly, I will have a wish granted.

If I could choose the wish, what would I wish for? Always an intriguing question. What would be worth crawling to the edge of the world for? I guarantee I know what she would wish for. Her and her one track mind. But she is gone now, no use worrying about her.

To take his mind off his darker thoughts, inappropriate for this light time, He began to sing a travelling song he picked up on his travels. "Upon the heart the fire is red, beneath the roof, there is a bed. But not yet weary are our feet, still 'round the corner we may meet. A sudden tree or standing stone, that none have seen but we alone."

@@@Pripyat Pony, @@purple.teal,

Somewhere farther ahead of Raze's group, the unicorn reappeared behind a group of trees in another swirl of cards. He looked around carefully at his surroundings, trying to make out where his little spell had taken him. It couldn't teleport him to where the group was at currently, rather, it predicted where they would be moments later. He could then teleport to any spot in that vicinity afterwards. It was a spell he came up with himself, perfect for not only situations like this, but for getaways as well, when he was on the run from people he had swindled before he was captured by the dogs....

Suddenly he heard a digging noise somewhere not too far from where he was at.

Speak of the devil, he thought, looking at where he heard the noise coming from. The Diamond Dogs were watching him.

They're not as stupid as I thought... He hid behind a tree, and a few seconds later, Raze and his group had shown up, just as his spell had predicted. He smiled slightly, complimenting himself in his head for designing such a wonderful spell. He readied one of his signature sharpened playing cards, imbuing it with magic, turning it red with a symbol of fire on the face on it. He sighed. Spells like this were pretty much random and based on chance, so he usually got a result he didn't want. But it suited someone with a character like his, so he liked it nonetheless. Of course, he could still cheat it; he discovered that in order to do so, it was based on a strong projection of his thoughts on what the outcome of the spell should be. Even still, the odds of him successfully cheating the spell were slim... he shook his head. Now was not the time for him to wander off. He saw the group coming closer... and once they were in range, he threw the card...

"Alright, so, we should be nearing Manehattan by now--" Raze was saying to the group, but before he could continue, was interrupted by something whizzing towards him and landing on the ground in front of him. He looked at it: it was a card. A playing card, to be exact. He was about to look closer, but suddenly, it exploded in a flash of fire. Raze put his traveling cloak up to shield him so that the fire wouldn't burn his face off. He looked around, trying to find out who threw the card.

Clover jumped as the card exploded. "Where did that come from?" she exclaimed. Thinking quickly, she then added, "It can't be a diamond dog. They have no ability to do magic at all. So why is a pony attacking us? We'd better stay here til we can find them and find out their motive."

Clover began to create magic wards around the group. The wards could be walked thru by members of the group, but anypony else would find themselves bouncing off an unyielding wall. Clover figured that this way, they would not be attacked by an unseen attacker; he or she would have to show themselves, and there were certainly those who could fight in the group.

Hurricane quickly leaped back from the flames. She wondered what would have caused it. It exploded out of nowhere. She didn't even see the card that started it. She flew away from the group in the opposite direction of the fire and once she got enough distance, she flew straight towards the flames and immediately stopped a couple yards away from it opening her powerful wings and creating a gust of wind pushing the fire away from the group. It worked only a little. Hurricane flew up into the air looking for the cause of the fire. She couldn't see anything except a shadowy figure. She couldn't quite tell what it was.
