Everlast frowned slightly at the exchange before him.

"Do you not enjoy being an alicorn? You seem to shirk from everything it brings you." He shook his head and sighed. "I'm sorry, that is a topic that I should not bring up after you invite me so cordially to dinner. Speaking of which, yes soup is always a simple and great place to start a meal, It is enough to whet the taste buds in preparation for the rest of the meal, but not enough to satisfy."

She nodded and levitated a second bowl over to him and poured half the soup out into it before levitating two silver spoons over.

 

"I don't mind you asking that, after all," she dipped her spoon into the soup, "you gave me back my...*sighs* crown...And honestly, it feels good to talk to a netural party on the subject." She levitated up the spoon, inhailing the contence of the salty potato and creamy cheese and broccoli. "It's just...All my life before I became an alicorn, it was hard enough being different with my ears and tail. I was picked on a bit for those features. Luckily though I found friends that loved me for myself, and not just for my looks. Though I won't lie in saying, some of them think I'm cute with my exotic features," she smiled and was about to put the spoon in her mouth but stopped.

 

"It's just...now it's all so different. Now I'm not being insulted or picked on, but I'm practically worshipped! Everywhere I go it feels like ponies are staring at me because I'm a Princess...They want to get to know me and be my friend...or treat me highly...and it's all for their own interests...not mine...And then there are those that are simply afraid of me because I'm a royal...They are too scared to get to know me because they see me as some...higher being...But I tell you what!" She dropped her spoon, it splasing a little on the table, "I'm no different then any other pony in this land! I just happen to have a horn and wings!" She sighed...and picked up her spoon again, "I'm sorry...it's just frustrating...and I try so hard to make sense of it all, or try to pet talk myself into this is just how things are...but...why do they have to be this way?"

Blaze took the elevator up to the roof, it was calmer and quieter up there. The musks and smells were dimmer and didn't effect Blaze so much. Here he could concentrate on his next move, now that Lightning Bliss wouldn't be getting hints of him anymore, he was clear to do as he pleased. "The this so called ultimate power Starswirl talked so highly about is finally within my grasp, I may once again leave this body and wreck havoc among all who challenge my authority.... My strength will know no bounds."

Everlast takes the bowl offered to him and stirs it around. "Good question, why are things the way they are, something I have spent most of my life looking into. In your specific case though, It is because however much you tell yourself otherwise, you are different from every other pony." He blows softly into his soup to cool it off before taking a bite. "Of course," Everlast smiles, "Everypony is different from everypony else, be glad you are different. What would the world be like if everypony was exactly the same? Everypony was all unicorn, pegasus, or earth pony with no variety. In my opinion, it would be pretty boring. I wouldn't have stories to document if I was told the same old story by everypony I ask." Everlast slowly takes small spoonfuls of soup, now more interested in the alicorn before him and their conversation.

 

"You, just so happen to be a new level of different. As to how others see you, and why they treat you the way they do. They could simply be admiring a rare occurrence, do you ever think that shooting stars ever get angry at all of us down here who admire it as it passes by? It isn't all that often one gets to see an alicorn. In deeper cases, it could be because we are jealous. I will admit, I am jealous of you. To be given the position you have, what I wouldn't do." He finished speaking and began digging into his soup while he waited for her response.

Steel Tempest flew across the starry night sky, holding tightly to his sword. He surveyed the ground below him, trying to find his outlaw partner. After surveying closely, he found something; it looked to be a member of the group Royal Flush was looking for on the rood of a building. Tightening the grip on his blade, he swooped down and surveyed the windows of the building. He didn't have to go far before he spotted Quickdraw relaxing in a penthouse suite with the rest if the group.

 

Steel Tempest sighed. "Of course..." He didn't do anything, just observed. He was a good distance from the window; hopefully no one would think of looking outside it....

Bliss sighed and slowly took a big heaping bite of the soup, savouring its contense before swallowing. There was an odd after taste she couldn't make out however...it was almost a putrid taste, but it was quickly washed away as it went down. Thinking nothing of it, she took another bite followed by another before patting her lips with a napkin to continue.

 

"You say shooting stars don't get annoyed when we admire them from afar...but I'm not a shooting star... I'm not far away from you am I?" She looked at him, "I'm right here in front of you...Don't shooting stars not have feelings? Do they really care if we see them? I don't think so...otherwise Luna hasn't been telling me all her magic abilities..." She took another bite...feeling that odd after taste once more, but shrugged it off. "My point is... is that I'm right here... I do have feelings...I still breath the same air as you do, I eat, I drink, I sleep... I'm flesh and blood, not some distant star in the sky. What have you to be jealous of me?"

 

She took another bite...though this time, chewing and swallowing was starting to become difficult...For some reason she was feeling a soreness in the front of her temple, near the base of her horn...As she swalled, the twinge got slightly worse. Shrugging it away and ignoring it, she was too into the conversation with Everlast to consider it a issue.

 

"When you become an alicorn Princess or Prince...your former life...it changes...it becomes something else, something you may not be ready for it to be...I was never ready to become this...becoming...some special being everypony sees so highly. All I wanted to do was to get married...and have a normal...well, as normal as it can be with a draconequus husband, life...Then that war had to happen...and I just had to stop it...*sighs...* Even now I wonder if I could do it all over again, would I still had become an alicorn...?"

 

She took one more bite and swallowed, "I ran scenarios in my head...they all come out the same...Yes, I would..." She took another...only now her headach was becoming more servere... "Ouch..." she placed her spoon down and touched her horn. "That's odd...never had a horn ach before...*SSsss*" She hissed as she touched the horn. It was sore to the touch, "And this soup tastes...kinda odd...It's almost like it caused my horn to ach... You see anything on my horn that might be effecting it?" She asked him.

"What?" Everlast almost dropped his bowl, hoping he heard improperly, "Are you suggesting that someone poisoned the meal?" He looked down at his own soup and gently set it down and slid it away from himself. "Let's take a look." Everlast attempted to switch views so he could see what, if anything was ailing her, but found that his magic was dampened and just trying caused him pain. He dropped his face into his hooves. "Ok, Question one is answered, It was definitely poisoned." Everlast rubbed his hooves against his temples. "Argh. Second and third questions; Who would poison you and why? What enemies would you have made?" Everlast was close to panicking. Without magic! No... I need... magic... I'm weak. He quickly got up. "I'm sorry to cut this dinner short, but I am going to return to my books, hopefully I have documented something about a poison related to this one, if not this one exactly." He left her room, and returned to the coffee table where he left his books and papers.

 

Of course I won't find anything, I didn't train for these kind of things, I never expected to run into poison and I never did. But, now, a princess's life is on the line, and I can't do anything!

Raze looked up at the commotion overhead, then got out of the hot tub quickly. He walked over to Lightning Bliss. "What's wrong?" he asked her, looking at the bowl of soup that she ate.

 

Outside, Steel Tempest saw a change in on of the group members. She held on to her horn, as if there was something wrong with it. Now was his chance. He turned to the right, and found a balcony that had a door leading to the inside of the hotel room. He made a powerful gust with his wings, and as the door flew open, he zipped inside, landing as soft as a leaf.

Hurricane saw Raze leap out of the hot tub in panic. Hurricane quickly followed. As she flew up to the main room of the penthouse, she felt a strong wind hit her back. She quickly whipped around only expecting a window to have been accidently left open. When she turned around, she saw a pony she hadn't seen before. He appeared to have a lot of power and he looked like he didn't fly in on accident. Hurricane crouched down ready to fight. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" she asked with a stern look

Blaze walked into the room where he had sensed commotion arising. He saw a winged pony fly into the room, he seemed menacing, might even put up a good fight. The cloth from Blazes weapon fell to the ground and now faced the enemy on the balcony. "I hope your lost traveller, or I'm going to have to politely for you to go on your way. After that we'll..... I bet you could guess what will happen next."

Steel Tempest wasn't intimidated by their threats, and he stretched his wings and adjusted the long katana hanging by his right side.

"If I were lost, I wouldn't have snuck through this particular balcony at this particular moment, now would I?" he said mocking Blaze. "No... I'm here for a different reason..." He looked around. "But not here... too cramped."

 

Quickdraw stared in mild surprise for a few seconds, then quickly tumble rolled towards his gun. He quickly loaded a round, and aimed it at Steel. Before he could shoot, however, the Pegasus quickly dashed towards them and slid to a halt behind the group, putting one hoof towards his katana. With one quick motion, he brandished the blade, and from the swing came a huge gust of wind that blew everyone out through the open balcony door. As they fell, Steel rushed out and leaped over the balcony, flying towards each of them, catching them in mid-air and placing them onto the ground, finally landing in front of them. Now they were all on the street in front of the hotel.

 

Steel Tempest looked around. "Perfect. Just the right amount of room..." He looked at the group.

"Wouldn't you agree?"

Bliss was in a panic that her horn was hurting so much, that she barely had time to react when the intruder or a rogue pegasus flew with great speed into their penthouse, thrusted them out with a powerful gust of wind form his wings. She found herself falling and desperatly tried to flutter, only to find herself being caught by the intruder and dropped safetly on the ground.

 

She shook her head, dazzed from the pain as well as the sudden, napping of herself and her friends...only to find she was in a filthy alley sitting on her rump, her hooves' bandages getting dirty from the grim. She looked up to the samuri rogue pegasus and snorted...This wasn't a time to worry about her her horn or her hooves, now was a time for defending herself.

 

"I don't know who you are...or why you threw us out of our rooms...but I won't stand for this!" She leapt to her feet, using her wings as a lifter and aimed her horn down. She focused her magic...hoping her shield spell could be used as a means to litterally fling the attacker away from them, it was her best offensive ability at this point. "Sorry! But you made me do this!" She whinnied as she focused her magic...

 

Then quite suddenly, as she was expecting rainbow light for form into a sheild, a loud cracking sound echoed in her horn..sparks twinkled off it...as if there was a backup of magic stuck there that couldn't be released... It caused her great pain that it felt like her head was going to split open. "GAH...WHAT THE???!" She tried harder...only this time...the cracking grew louder and louder... till finally the backup of magic was sent flinging back to its orgins...sending the small fragile alicorn, flying backwards, slamming into a pile of trash...The last she saw was her friends...and the intruder...then blacked out unconcious.

After landing on the ground, Hurricane quickly sprinted up to Steel Tempest and stopped inches away from his face. She glared at him with angry burning in her eyes. The cold air caused puffs of white air to exit through her nose when she panted. "What do you want with us stranger?" she asked sternly. "We've had enough trouble already."

Steel Tempest didn't respond, and instead brandished his blade at her again. 

 

"Hasagi!" he shouted as he swung, and a whirlwind was unleashed from the swing, which pushed Hurricane back to where the group was sitting dazed and confused. The very air from the whirlwind felt as sharp as an actual blade, and actually cut Hurricane a bit in various parts of her body. 

 

Steel rested his blade on his shoulders. "Keep your distance pegasus, otherwise it'll be much worse.

Everlast was frantically flipping through pages in his book, searching for anything that could be related to a cure. So engrossed in his work was he, that he didn't notice the new arrival. It wasn't until he was already lying prone in an alleyway that he began to look around him again. He saw a Pegasus with a sword knock Hurricane back, and cut her, all without touching her. At the same time, beside him, the poisoned princess fell. He wanted to go help both of them, But without his magic, he knew he was useless. He wasn't going to confront the invader either, not after witnessing what he could do. So instead he settled himself for continuing to lie down, and observe what he could, without attracting attention to himself.

Blaze landed on the ground gracefully, hardly dazed after flying off the balcony. He levitated his sword and stabbed it into the concrete. A blue flame arose from the ruptured ground and began circling Blaze. His eyes turned a darker red and emitted a sharp glare. The Flames grew brighter and forged a triangle shape around him, engulfing his body in the flames, preparing for what came next.

Clover was furious. At first a stranger had thrown her and the others out their rooms, just as she was planning to settle for the night. Then she saw Lightning Bliss fall. She lashed her tail in fury.

 

"How dare you attack us!" she cried in anger. "These are my friends; leave them alone!" Using her magic, Clover levitated all the pieces of shattered glass from the window. Once they were all in the air, she focused her magic so that they were all aimed in the same place. This done, she hurled the sharp pieces of glass at Steel Tempest, surrounding him with the deadly shards. She wasn't the Princess of Magic for nothing and for the first time since her coronation, actually felt proud of the fact.

Steel Tempest inhaled, then extended his wings.

 

"Son! he shouted in a foreign dialect, and his wings made a large gust. It formed a large wall of wind that protected Steel. However, most of the shards still managed to break through, and pierced him in various spots. He plucked the shards from his body one by one, then looked at Clover, almost glaring at her.

 

"At peace with yourself?" he asked her, remaining still. "You will be." Suddenly, he quickly flew towards Clover, dashing through her with great speed. With both hands on his sword, he made a 360 degree swing which also made a small, raging whirlwind around him, slicing Clover and knocking her in the air. Finally, in the blink of an eye, he rushed up towards her, and began to strike her repeatedly, with each cut becoming progressively stronger.

 

"Sorye ge Ton!" he shouted once more, making a final vertical slice that brought both him and Clover to the ground, slamming her into the concrete. He didn't hit anything vital, just made a lot of cuts so it would hurt as much as possible without killing her. Royal Flush wanted them alive after all. He quickly flew back to where he was originally standing, his sword still at the ready.

(OOC: I edited it, I think, hopefully this'll do. Still kept the whole "samurai choppy chop" scene though. I kinda noticed this too; although I wasn't exactly thinking when I wrote this. Sorry!)

Blaze smashed through the fire and slammed into The Mystery pony with all his strength and then some. He knocked him on his back and stabbed his sword right through his wing and into the concrete. The hilt of Blazes sword constricting the wing to the ground. "An obsolete warrior with predictable tactics. Your sword play is one dimensional, but your abilities are strong." Blaze knocked the sword out of his hoof, "Tell me.... What is your name?"

Groggily, and her head pounding like the Ponyville train was rolling inside it, she opened her eyes to a horrid sight. In front of her was a brutally cut Clover...her wounds were servere...if not deep...Then to Hurricane who also appeared to be showing the same wounds as well.

 

She weakly rose up to the most injured of the two mares and stepped over Clover in a protective matter, keeping herself over the injured alicorn, ready to face another attack if there was to be one. But all seemed under control seeing a inflamed litterally, Blaze, stabbing his sword into the attacker's wing and dislodging the samuri blade.

 

"What is...happening..." She groaned at anypony who would answer, "Clover..." she nuzzled the pony's cheek, "can you hear me Clover?"

 

(OOC Since Pripyat Pony doesn't like this and I'm technically questioning it, please rewrite this battle scene...I'll edit my post when its fixed if needed.)

@@Lightning Bliss, Clover opened her eyes. Her hide was cut, but she still felt triumphant at how her attack had hit home. "I'm fine," she replied. "Well, not so fine, but I can manage. The shield spell... if I can do that, then I will be able to protect myself and anypony else who needs it."

 

Her horn glowed green as Clover concentrated hard to form the shield which, faintly tinged with green, formed around herself and Lightning. Any pony who was part of the original group would be protected by it if they entered, however any pony with evil intent would find themselves thrown back with force. This done, Clover performed a small healing type spell which, altho it couldn't take away the cuts completely, would seal them and reduce the pain. She knew her friend was also hurting. "Would you like me to perform this spell for you? It will take the pain away, at least."

[Hurricane 159]

Hurricane examined her wounds. They were deep and they stung, but she could still fight. After witnessing the rest of the group's efforts to fight back, she witnessed Blaze being engulfed in flames. She didn't know what to think of it. She didn't have enough time to think about it so she just hoped Blaze had himself under control. Hurricane then looked at Steel. And came up with an idea. "Maybe we need to show this guy that he's not the only one who can handle wind." She said to herself as she looked at her cutie mark. She then flew straight up into the air. After getting to the height of the hotel, she drove straight down and using her momentum, she flew around Steel creating a high speed tornado around him. The strong wind picked up dirt, dust and whatever trash that was light enough.

"I don't know if your healing spell will help...I can't..." she tried to light her horn but it singed back, making her groan in pain, "I can't use my magic! It hurts! My horn!" She began to panic...Sitting down on her rump and scooting away from Clover and Hurricane while Blaze and the others dealt with the pony samuri.

 

"I can't use my magic...does this mean I'm not an alicorn anymore? Can I no longer uphold the peace??? Oh Luna and Celestia!" She suddenly began to cry... Not realizing the fear was swelling up even more in her belly. This was smoething she had always wanted, to be back to being a pegasus again...but this was different...it was all wrong...She had others in Equestria depending on her keeping the peace, like between the gryphon kingdoms and the draconequus...The dragons and diamond dogs...they all depending on her gift to keep the peace...and now she couldn't even light up her horn...

Steel grabbed the sword by the blade, and plucked it from the concrete. He then kicked Blaze in the face, then sprung from the ground. His wing hurt, but he only needed one wing to fight.

 

"Your pity insults do not mean anything to me, alicorn, and I do not give my name to those who are not worthy of hearing it." He then reached for his blade and Blaze's, and with his own made a powerful horizontal slice that made a large whirlwind that knocked him in the air. Steel flipped in the air until he was above him, and threw Blaze's blade, which hit him in the wing and pinned him to the ground.

 

"Don't act so high and mighty, especially when you have betrayed your own," he said. "I don't know what happened, but you have the look of a traitor in your eyes." He pointed with his blade to Lighting Bliss. "You did that to her didn't you..."

Before he could say more, he was surrounded by a rogue whirlwind. He remained still, using the tornado as a means of protection from outside threat. Hopefully, what he said would end up turning them against each other.

[Hurricane 159]

Hurricane couldn't tell what was going on with the rest of the group. She was too focused and kept the tornado going. It picked up more and more dirt and dust until no pony could see into or out of the cyclone. Hurricane used the dusty tornado as a distraction for the stranger. She quickly flew out and charged back in headed straight for Steel with full force.
