Of course, I know that my waifu us very near and dear to my heart, and I take her very seriously. They understand that said waifu dosen't exist but it is harmless fantasizing. Some people take it a bit further and create tulpas (think imaginary friend except taken a few steps further) and some people actually believe that their waifu exists in the form of a spirit and that they are in fact having an actual relationship with them. For me it is for fun, I know Applejack dosen't actually exist even if it would be awesome if she did but I sometimes like to pretend she does. There are a lot of characters that I am sexually attracted to but wouldn't want to be romantically involved with. With Applejack I would gladly do both if given a chance as well as maybe a few other ponies like Twilight or Rainbow Dash but Applejack especially. I view as a waifu as someone you may have sexual thoughts about but also have a strong enough crush on that if given a chance you would take them as your girlfriend or even wife if you had the chance. I will say (or even sing) things to her. Or, rather, at an image of her, a plushie or other figure of her, etc. I've asked her Funko figure to wish me luck in the following Mario Kart race lol. I don't do so expecting a response or anything, mind you; these are just expressions of affection and / or familiarity that escape at one point or another. I write poetry and songs about / inspired by her. I might touch her figure affectionately (like under the chin, side of the face, or I'll stroke her mane). I fantasize about her; I won't elaborate beyond that. I know she's an animated character from a television series. But my affection for her is real and beyond the point of being ignored.
