Dresden thought for a moment 1 gold could possibly be enough for horses and supplies at least until they reached their next destination wherever that was, "alright it's a deal." Dresden shook the merchants hand and took the gold piece leaving the earring on the counter. "Thank you actually made this day better," Dresden turned to  Indicus, "Well we got money so now let's go see what we can buy."

@@Flying Ace, Nodded, then followed behind like I was supposed to, the town had plenty of merchants, they sold mostly the basics, food drink some hand made items and a smith was selling his own items with a few proper weapons in the mix. Overall there was nothing that stood out.

Apparently the cripple had felt throwing a knife and yelling might somehow help the situation, it really hadn't. He rolled away as the beast lurched forward, he might have been able to draw and shoot but still the creature would have collapsed on him. Instead he came up to his knees just a foot from its side aiming the scatter gun towards its face. He spoke in a quiet soft tone, "Okay creature, if you have a mind know that swing at me makes anything I do now legal defense. Lets not make something bad happen..." He waited finger on the trigger, he prayed to the god of knowledge to give the beast reason and to the god of inspiration to give the crippled woman a better plan than throwing more daggers.

Helena turned her head to look at Robert. She waved her hand in front of his face to try and get his attention. "Hi. Remember me? Would you care to look behind me and try to use one of your bardic songs to try and heal the situation before shots are fired? Or if you can't do that, at least get Tulla's attention!?" Helena said, panicking slightly. She thought that the dagger she'd thrown woukd deter him from getting the gun but apparently Tugg was too quick for her.

Embers began to drift from Tuggs mouth. He didn't take being threatened nicely. A quick fireball would erase this annoyance.

Tulla pushed off the counter and stepped outside, cheeks red with drunkness "You best put that gun down! Dont you dare hurt him!". She was a bit out of sorts as she palmed one of her own knives.

------

For a moment, Whisper was quiet, looking down at her folded hands "I dont know whether its a gift or a curse...I can feel more than power. I can feel pain and evil at times. Sometimes, we all need a little Light to show us the way."

She chuckled lightly "I don't wield magick very well...unlike you and Dresden." What was that commotion outside? Was that Tulla? She stretched out the window; hanging haphazardly balanced only by her thin waist.

Clarke was insulted, "Me?!  Hurt him?!  He's the one that wants to kill me!"  He yelled back into the tavern, "I haven't done anything to him, last I check bumping into something does not justify murdering ME!"  he tightened his grip on the gun, "you better not breathe that beastie, or I promise you this gun will send that fire and lead back down your throat."  He wouldn't hesitate to do so, he didn't want to but if that thing let out a fireball it would probably be the only way to save himself.

*************

Up among the clouds Serafinno was moving about tufts of vapor with his air dragon inherited cloud-walking magic, building crude shapes out of the clouds was much more fun than shaping his flame breathe, less scary too.  His fun came to an end as he heard yelling that he recognized and Tugg's growl, looking over the edge of the cloud he saw the man from the strange machine pointing something at Tugg.  Finn didn't like Tulla's words, he wouldn't let any strangers hurt anyone else!  He had known he didn't like the strange man and now he was going to stop him.  Finn gave as mighty of a flap as his wings could manage, filled with air magic the gust grew more and more powerful as it descended.  The powerful focused wind would smash the man flat and then Tugg would take care of him; Finn didn't even have to raise a claw and the wind was much faster than if he had dived down himself.

The only downside of the attack was if Finn had been diving he could have slowed or stopped entirely if he had wanted, this attack however had no control once released it would travel along its path no matter what.  So Serafinno could only give a surprised warning cry when Whisper leaned out the window directly in its path.

Dresden looked towards the direction of the inn; he couldn't see it but what ever was going on both him and Indicus heard it. "Hey Indicus maybe you should head back to the inn just to make sure the others are okay; I'll go ahead and buy some horses and get the other supplies, we can meet up again if every-things going well." Dresden said.

She let out a choaking sound as she felt her bones break again and she fell. Crashing headfirst into the cart and then hitting the pavement, if it hadn't been for her severed spine she would have cried out in pain.

A woman in the crowd screamed as the events unfolded, drawing more and more attention. A raven cawed as it burst up into the air, circling the scene for a few seconds before gliding off.

Whisper didn't know what to do, she felt wet almost, it mustve been her blood. Should she play dead or gravely injured? Tulla gasped and dropped her knife; how come the princess wasnt screaming? Couldn't she see the small gear embedded in her collarbone?

Well, she was drunk and couldn't remember a thing.

"She's dead!"

"The dragon killed her!"

The crowd began to erupt with frenzy and fear. Tugg stepped back, suddenly afraid of his own life. His pupils narrowed to slits as he hunched down and hissed at everyone.

Adrass.

Slipping gingerly between the stalls of the market, Adrass took a couple of opportunities to help himself to what collectively added up to still only little more than a meagre amount. Far too few coins to resupply as much as he needed: though he did manage to cobble together a few bits and pieces that he deemed necessary. After half an hour or so of lifting unattended coins, browsing substandard quality wares and threatening shopkeepers who had what he needed at far-too-high prices, the Witch Hunter stopped to take stock of the situation.

The coat wasn't ideal - it was leather certainly, and long too. It wasn't armoured though - lacking the strong chain sheeting on the inside. The sleeves were baggy and too long, needing to be rolled back at the wrists and buttoned into place to allow him freedom with his hands. On the positive side, it was likely only a year or two old - much less battered and travel-worn than his last, in fact, it was quite extravagant in contrast.

Lacking a hood, he had gone on the lookout for something to use in its place, and been far from disappointed.

How it had come into the possession of these backwater simpletons was anyone's guess, but a true hunters hat - one granted to initiates on their graduation - was perfect. Wide brimmed leather, there were functional and hardy... and marked one as liked to the order. Presumably this was why it was being sold off so cheaply - the townsfolk wanted nothing to do with a hunter. Quite an understandable desire after all... not that it stopped Adrass from taking it off their hands for a pittance.

Content with his new attire at least, Adrass stepped aside from the bustle of the market - adjusting his high collar as he twisted slightly to feel the flexibility that this new clothing granted... it was going to be necessary without the added armour. Once suitably appeased, he took a seat and began the process of emptying his pistols of the now-damp sand. They didn't seem too badly damaged, but he was still lacking any usable blackpowder...

Somewhere not too far away, a commotion of some kind could be heard. He put it out of his mind for the moment - it could wait, whatever it was.

I arrived seeing the dragon hit the princess by what I figured was accident due to both being close. I heard the cry of a raven and I watched as the dragon hissed at the crowed of panicked townsfolk, I entered with a cloaking spell and reappeared next to the princess, seeing one of the group (Tulla) I walked up to her, "What the hell happened? Keep it short."

I shook my head and reached in a pocket for bandages, I did not have the enchanted ones but these would have to do, I quickly brushed the princesses hair away from the wound and, wraped the bandage around it finishing it with a light "stick" spell. Seeing that it would do, I walked to the short man and looked at him my blade now out but still folded inside the hilt, "What the hell happened here?"

Hekena stared, wide-eyed and open-mouthed at Whisper. 'She just ... fell? She couldn't have fallen on purpose, something must have made her fall.' Helena thought to herself and tried to analyse the situation. She closed her mouth and remembered that she couldn't move from the chair without help so she just looked on as Indicus applied a bandage and question the Tinkerer.

Clarke had been suddenly assaulted by a blast of wind and was sent tumbling aside, at the same time he heard a loud crash. When he looked up again the Andalasian princess or her look alike was sprawled out over his cart, she looked like a broken discarded toy. He had always heard stories about the princess having life magic but could life magic heal something like this? Well he would probably find out if she was the princess one way or another...

A armored fool came over after looking at the body and putting a bandaid on it and ask him what had happened. Clarke stared at the man, "did you just treat a two-story fall on to solid metal with a simple bandage!" He rushed to the girls side, checking her pulse, oddly it was there and she even seemed responsive... Signs of life magic? "She's alive but she'll need treatment now to make it. The only competent doctor should be at the villages Landlord's Manor. My cart can transport her." He carefully positioned her to lay on the cart and pressing a button it started chugging and gears began turning. "Your group can follow if you wish, but keep your animals away they're far too dangerous."

********************

Finn hid in the clouds and watched, everyone down there was mad at him now, they thought Whisper was dead. Why didn't she get up like she always did? He was beginning to worry as the strange man started to straighten Whisper and take her away! Maybe it was something that weird metal cart was doing! He growled and moved to follow darting from cloud to cloud.

@@Torrent505, (he used gauzz or this worlds equivalent) "I'm not a fool, I figured that it would only do so much, better then , anyway lets get her to the nearest doctor. We can  argue about who the fool is later when she is not at risk of death." I said following the cart to the probable place where the doctor was.

Clarke raised a brow at the armored man, though it was hardly visible behind his goggle; he then gestured at the lumbering metal machine, "Sir I am a genius and visionary, surely you are no fool but I hardly would consider you well armed versus me in a battle of wits. Please banish the thought of such a debate from your mind." He kick a lever and the machine jumped in acceleration speeding up the cobblestone road toward the Master of these farmlands personal estate. The others didn't seem to be rushing to stop him, at least not yet...

... Maybe his theory on the girls identity was wrong, maybe she was just an unlucky traveling girl with just enough luck to survive that horrible fall. If that was so the gods had granted miracle that she might still live and while he might not make any profit if she was just a girl sometimes the gods sent him good deeds to do so that he might try to balance out his very many wicked ones. This one given what the doctor might cost could be a costly deed indeed.

He reached over and took the girls soft delicate hand in his rough calloused one and held as they raced up the path starting to leave the city, "Stay awake and with me if you can, okay girl? Focus on my voice. Can you hear me? My name is Clarke, you've had a bad fall and I'm getting you to a doctor. Can you speak? Speak if you can, stay alert, what's your name?"

When things started to go crazy Robert ran to get his lute- after all, his magic wasn't nearly as effective with just his voice- and by the time he got back, things had gone so far down hill that all he could really do was watch and hope everything would be okay. For the second time on their journey, he found himself wishing his magic could be used for healing.
