@@Alex Kennedy,

Dresden laughed and slammed his hand on the table, 'you thought it was a guy!" Dresden clutched his sides and tried to calm himself but just ended up laughing some more, "and you even grabbed his ass! Oh, by the ancients!" Dresden wiped his eyes to clear them from his tears and gave an occasional chuckle. "I needed that."

Clarke was laughing at Robert's story as well though not quite as hard as Dresden was. He turn his grin at the water Mage, "careful Dresden, we can all enjoy it but remember you're going to have to tell a secret too. Tulla was the only real winner." He scratched his head and took a drink, figuring he might get his secret out of the way.

"I'll share my secret before you though, maybe some how you'll all forget it before the night's over..." He sighed and began, "So many of you might know Tinkerers are over 90% male and the order discourages pursuing relationships and sees them as a waste of time. So a large number of Tinkerers are very awkward about... people. But I'm getting ahead of the secret. It's from when I was still a student, a friend of mine was working on this strange pipe and he sought out my help on it. It was very exciting and cutting edge stuff, manipulating the material to be strangely supple and soft, testing mimicking magic to have the material move in certain motions; I didn't realize it was an actual project of his let alone what it's purpose was."

He took another large drink, he was getting more nervous now, "I thought it was just a test device for tinkering techniques but he had made it as... Well, umm as a 'substitute' for a women. When I learned this I was so disgusted I went to the head instructor to tell him and seek it's destruction... When he learned of it he thought it was a splendid idea and made his own improvements on the design and put it into full production. Soon it was across the school and spread to other Tinkerer institutes. My contribution to the original design won me prestige and compensation from the order; that let me become a roaming Tinkerer instead of going to a factory or some other institution." He picked up his drink and finished it all in a quick chug, then started laughing into his hands, "I have freedom to travel and to create and design whatever I want because of a device that half my order puts their dicks in... And it might be what I'm remembered by them for! My colleagues are such sad souls sometimes."

Helena snorted into her drink when she heard Clarke tell his secret. she coughed slightly on the beverage but once she calmed down, she had a question to ask him. "Let me get this straight, you thought that this 'device' that your friend was making, was to help develop Tinkerer techniques, but it was actually a metal woman doll? You guys must be more women deprived than I thought." Helena smiled and giggled at the thought.

Clarke was laughing and it felt good, usually this particular part of his past irked him to no end so this was a pleasant change. "Hey! If it was shaped like a woman I would have recognized it for what it was instantly! But most don't have the... decency?-" Clarke couldn't even figure out what the right word would be, "-to even put it on something with a woman's curves. Mostly it's just a metal rod with a hole in it! Some have doll like things but I don't know it that's better or worse, I guess at least they're showing some affection towards a human shape!" He grabbed another drink from the serving plate and once he was able to stop the laughter chugged it.

He shrugged and sighed staring off whimsically, "it makes some sense that it happens to them though, we're very explicitly taught how relationships steal away time, resources, money and even change your thoughts from the job to a person. And a family would take even more. Love will make you act illogically; the order considers it the bane of Tinkerers." He realized he had gotten more philosophical than focus on the secret, so he went back on track, "Oh and you know what? My 'friend' and the former head instructor, they got an entire factory and a multitude of tinkerers working under them. All focused on making more of the things or improving them! Can you imagine!" He chuckled again at the absurdity of it.

"Well who's next? Between Robert's brush with a man and my involvement creating a 'fucking' rod I feel no one should be too embarrassed to share." He relaxed back into his chair, the tension and fear of sharing with these people was gone. Maybe it was the drink or the relaxing atmosphere effecting him too much but he liked them all, they were his first friends in a very very long time.

Tulla laughed so hard, she nearly choaked on her drink. "That's how the whole thing started? Ancients, the...Whisps parents had me cleaning out all of them from the cas- casey little home they lived in. She was never supposed to learn of thier existence. "

Whisper was beet-red. Never in her life had she been exposed to these kinds of ideas or talk. But there was a first time for everything. She also took the moment to try and think of anything she had done dirty. Was it possible she was truly that innocent?

Clarke blushed a bit at Tulla's comment and even more when he saw how red Whisper was. He promptly brought his laughter under control as he thought to himself, 'well if the princess had seen me in a positive way then there goes that, she probably thinks I'm some sort of lecher now.' He should have know better than to share a story like that in front of a noble.

"Ummm, well I'm certainly not happy that's how it started and they aren't supposed to be sold outside the order so shame to whoever let that happen... Though I'll admit restrictions haven't stopped any Tinkerers before." He took drink of his newest ale before sputtering on it with realization, "wait who in the cast-" he was buzzed now and barely caught himself, "-cozy little home owned those!"

"that my dear friend is a question for another day. So, i guess I should tell a secret." Dresden leaned back and scratched his head, 'let's see what can I tell....I know I can't tell them that story so what else did I do.' 'Well, I can't seem to think of any kind of secret to tell ohhhh well I guess I'll have to skip my turn." Dresden said with probably the worst poker face ever seen.

"They had servants that worked for them, cozy little house was more of an estate but thats what they liked to call it. My tutor had one." Tulla cringed.

Whisper couldn't lie; she couldn't conjure up anything dirty she had done. "I haven't...done anything...yet. I suppose my parents are very over-protective."

Zaddion was visibly trying to hold back a little bit of laughter, both of the secrets that had been told so far were relatively amusing. It would be quite noticeable that he was drinking a lot slower than the others, that wasn't because of the taste but merely his lack of wanting to become intoxicated too badly. "Seems any place of knowledge and design you go to at least one person has something... Vulgar on their minds," letting out a stifled laugh his mind went a little blank as the other two withdrew from the confessions. "I... Genuinely can't think of anything that I'd consider dirty and embarrassing, or at least something that I've done. I could try to think of something while whoever's left tell theirs."

"Q'sal, a singular, labyrinthine mind composed of a billion conflicting, paradoxical wills. Have you ever seen the swirling Aetherstorms in it's atmosphere? Smelled the shifting perfumes of intrigue upon it's people? Tasted the gluttonous banquets of ambition permeating from the Sorcerer-Technocrats? Heard the exquisite lies and thoughts of an unknowable population? No Slaaneshi pleasure I have indulged in comes close to that feeling, only in the embrace of Apotheosis could one aspire to find anything greater."

"Dresden you better spit it out!" Tulla pointed to the young mage "And the rest of you too!"

"Pick either then, I realize now some of us have had more sheltered loves than others."

Whisper thought of embarrassing things "Once, on a trip with Finn, we ran into some trouble. My gown got all torn up and then eventually burned right off. I was...12 I believe. Finn got grounded by his mother and I had to return home stark naked while my parents had guests."

"Oh yeah, I remember that. Never had I seen your mother so white." Tulla chuckled.

"My turn." Helena said. "There's this sort if ritual that people go through in order to get in and out of the thieves guild. This happened late last year when I decided I had enough of them. I wanted out so they put me through the ritual. It's a shameful one and rather embarrasing actually. I had to strip myself of my uniform and parade in front of the entire guild, naked, for about an hour before I was told I could leave." Helena said with a smile and drank the rest of hr drink in one go.

Clarke hadn't picked up on Dresden's bad lying he was too distracted as his mind went on a tangent about what life in a royal castle must be like, if only to just be a servant. Maybe if he could actually figure out a way to get the princess home safely he could be a Tinkerer serving the Royal Court, that plus a the reward from the crown and somehow the pay from Jaiden in Coppershine? He would have all the wealth and work he would ever need!

The fact that Whisper hadn't done anything didn't surprise him, many nobles were sheltered, but the fact she didn't mention any crushes or feeling for any little lordlings did, the princess was beautiful surely she had many suitors trying to catch her favor; even the King and Queen couldn't stop noble elite from speaking with their daughter. Her story earned a small chuckle from him, she was quite the wild one for a noble and he never got used to it.

Helena's story impressed and surprised him, somehow he had thought the Thieves guild would be more brutal to those seeking to leave, they were more honorable than he would have given them credit for. The Order of the Gear was much harsher, to quit being a Tinkerer they would take the thumb of your dominate hand, both thumbs if it was a dishonorable discharge... He drank more ale.

**************

Serafinno didn't really understand why the others were telling these stories but he did understand the point of them and that got him rather excited because an hour ago he would have been like Whisper or Zaddion and had no story BUT now he did! That couple he had seen in the room before coming here!

He gave coughing bark like cry and ran up to the table and blew out a cloud of smoke across its surface, the cloud swirled and shifted, Finn was happy to find his magic was returning. The cloud formed a bed with two people in it a man and a women, they were moving about on the bed but it was smokey and blurred. Suddenly a dragons head made to look like Finn popped in from the side of the cloud, it looked about curiously sneaking into the room and pausing to look at the people. The smoke woman noticed the dragon and clutched close to her cloudy companion pointing it out. The two apparitions seemed to converse for a moment before the woman gestured for the smoke version of Finn to join them on the bed and the man patted it invitingly. The miniature Finn crouched low in discomfort its scales spiking and darted out of the cloud to fade away just like how he had run off, then the whole puff of smoke dispersed.

The corners of Finn's mouth were tugged up in his best imitation of a human smile and he was holding his head high; he was very proud that he had had something to add to their conversation.

Tulla fell back, giddy with drink and laughter. She never thought the Thieves Guild would do such a thing but then again, they weren't as serious as the Assassins Guild.

Both she and the princess were surprised by the dragons input. The Madame, who had been silently watching, clapped her hands happily at the display, calling Finn a naughty little dragon.

Whisper covered her eyes, blushing furiously.

"Why, is it everytime you and finn do something it alwasy end up with you naked." Dresden chuckled them outright laughed at Finn's display. "Oh no Finn, you weren't suppose to see that yet." Dresden rubbed behind his ears. "Well, my secret is that one day I lost a bet to a couple of friends I knew outside the orphanage the bet was if I could hold my breath longer then them I would win; I lost and had to run though town in my undies screaming 'I'm king of the squires." Dresden took a sip of his drink.

I thought on my past once again, the things I did people I killed, and even why I became an assassin to be honest I could have become a sell sword. But there was something about the overall secrecy of the guild that was interesting and appealing. Thinking on it I only joined because it felt right, and never would dream of leaving. Why would I? It would not do anything for me.

Helena laughed at Dresden's secret. "Dresden ... you had to run down the street in your underwear ... and shout I'm King of the Squires? That must hav been some bet." She saw what Finn did and found that it was amusing and sort of cute the way the dragon told his story. It must have been the drink talking but she decided to take another full cup and wondered what was going to happen next.

The table was now thoroughly covered in empty tankards; only three more rounds had passed but the secret sharing had quickly become conversations between everyone each time a new one was told. The rounds had been a cute secret, a secret regret and a secret that could get you into trouble. Clarke was leaning heavily on the table now, he was drunk to the point that the world didn't seem to want to stop moving around him and he was afraid if he let go of the table he would fall from his seat. Despite the being so intoxicated his speech wasn't slurred at all, though he did need to pause and think out what he was saying before hand. He did that now as he reached out collecting his cards from the table and finally saying, "I think that's it everyone, I can't go another round. I'm not having another drop and if I stay I'll soon be asleep on the table..." He looked toward the inn keeper, just turning his head made him tilt and lean somewhat off his chair, "... Madame I think we will be needing our rooms, they are close by, I hope?" He honestly couldn't remember how large the second floor was or most of the building for that matter, no matter he'd been more drunk than this in worse places. This would be a simple walk, just think balancing thoughts. Then he began to wonder what are balancing thoughts?

After each round had ended, she told her secret in turn. She told them about how she used to sleep with a teddy bear named Fubby (cute). When she was in the Thieves guild, she regreted ever joining because it meant that she had to live by strict rules about not getting caught and such (regret). For the final secret, she told them how she snuck into Wrathspire Tower and stole one of their daggers. She accidentally told Adrass about it but apparently he trusted her enough to keep the dagger even though she offered to give it back to him (trouble). By this point, she was so drunk zhe didn't know what she was saying and nor have any control over he movement so she ended up leaning against Robert and fell asleep.

Dresden leaned back and chuckled he barley drank so out of all of them he was probably the least drunk. He already told about his reign over the squires (cute), and while there was one thing Dresden regretted he refused to tell them no matter how much they asked/demanded him too and his final secret was of him and his friends pulling a prank on the guards stationed there and they never got caught.

@@Dji,

Robert had merrily drank and laughed the night away, happy to be able to relax for once. He had terrible luck and ended up sharing a secret every round. There was the story of the childhood crush he'd had on his first music teacher (cute), the fact that a certain count's wife had once invited him up to her bedchambers for a night of fun (trouble), and leaving his hometown without giving a proper goodbye to his father, who, while they'd never gotten along well, he admitted he had a lot of respect for (regret). He had finished his last drink and was about to get up when he noticed Helena had fallen asleep on him. Well, there were worse things in the world than sleeping next to a beautiful woman, and he didn't much feel like getting up right now anyway. He yawned and leaned his head back. Maybe he'd just stay right here for the night.

The Madame had been away for most of the party, leaving some of her girls behind. She came in right on time to catch Clarkes request "Oh of course! I cna have the girls escort you to your rooms."

Madame looked at Helena and Robert "You may share a room, if you wish. No trouble for us!" She gave him a devilish smile.

Tulla was getting helped up by a maids arm around her waist. "Want to share a room with me?" she mumbled drunkenly to the girl. She giggled in response and led her out of the room. Whisper had her face planted firmly on the table, she had quit the game a bit early due to a fit of giggling. It also became increasingly difficult not to talk about her royal lifestyle without giving anything away.

She also found herself staring at Clarke way too much; fawning over his features and strange little stories. It was so rude of her to do so. It made her stomach knot-up, which was weird.

But she took it as a sign she was drinking far too much and was getting sick.

Robert thought about it for a minute. Drunk though he may have been, years of experience had taught him to function fairly effectively in this state. "Well, on the one hand, she'll be furious when she wakes up. On the other hand, it would be a great opportunity to have a little fun with her. You know what, why not? Her reaction ought to be interesting, at least. I'll carry her- wouldn't want her waking up." He looked at Tulla with an expression of mock hurt. "What, you're not going to offer to share a room with me?"

Clarke suddenly remembered what he had hidden in his back pocket and had been hoping to give to Miss Whisp in private, it seemed now while everyone was distracted would be his best chance if he wanted her to have it at all.  All things considerd in a place like this where he wasn't exactly how trustworthy the staff was and she wouldn't have the others in the same room to protect her, he very much thought she should have it.  So he gave a gesture to wait to the girl that had approached to assist him to his room and one hand on the table for balance made his way over to where she seemed to have collapsed face down on the table.  She shook her gently and spoke softly, "um, Miss Whisp?  Are you awake?"

Serafinno had shared only one other smoke story before curling around Whisper's chair and falling asleep, the story was the cute secret were a very young whisper and he had stolen all the flowers from the royal garden to decorate her parents room, the gardeners had been furious and her parents had been a mix of furious and pleseantly surprised... they had never found out who had done it, so it could have counted toward the later secret of something they could have gotten in trouble for.  He growled at the Tinkerer's feet having just been awakened after falling asleep.

Tulla scoffed, throwing her free arm around another girl "Your hands are full. Besides, Im much better on my own." She gave him a small smile before being led off to her room.

"The room won't stop spinning Clarke. I think...I think...I drank too much." Whisper mewled.

Now, the Madame watched Clarke closely. She seemed nervous about him approaching "I can take her to her room. Its very close to mine."

If she wasn't careful, she would lose alot of money on this.

"I won't require any assistance, just show me where my room is..." Zaddion was, for the first time in his life intoxicated. Of course he was no where near as bad as most of the others so could move and walk with relative ease, even if he was a little shaky. "I guess I'll see the rest of you in the morning, if you have the strength to actually get up that early," the Mage chuckled before holding his hand against a wall to balance himself, he didn't really need it but the extra point of suspension made it easier. He assumed that someone would eventually lead him to his room, at that point he'd have no choice but to follow them or end up collapsing after an unspecified amount of time.
