gaming Are video game villains(Most of them) really evil?

No reason that's the point.

Actually the fear of something 'superior' developing and coming along and surpassing you might be reason enough.

Much like why Frieza killed the Saiyans,he was afraid that they would become too powerful and overthrow his family and ultimately him.

Is that a good reason to kill trillions of life forms? Depends on where you sit in the food chain.

Ok so murder is fine? Hell no it's wrong.

Just because you don't know why it's being done doesn't make it unjustified.

Hitler wanted to get rid of the imperfect people to make the world a better place. Does that make what he did right? No, but he had some form of justification. Don't get me wrong, murder is bad, but if you don't look at both sides of the story, everybody is always going to seem evil

Depends on the villain in question. Joker from Arkham Asylum is most certainly evil, Sephiroth is evil as well, but more sympathetic.

Now that I think about it, a lot of video game villains have sympathy. There are some that don't though. The Ancients from Eternal Darkness, Tabuu, Yabu, and The Prophet of Truth aren't nice in anyway

No.   And its funny, in video games, the bad guy is more of an "antagonist" than "evil".  Just look at the Didact.  Players thought he was a bad guy, but he wasn't "evil", but more "antagonistic".
