I would tell them to start watching Friendship is Magic from the very beginning so, they'll get the full experience.

My other choice would be to start from the season 4 finale and work backwards.

I'd show them any episode from the entire series. (Maybe not really the first 3 seasons, but I might)

The cart before the ponies. It can only get better from that point onwards. So, I just reduced their expectation to the point they believe the show is utter trash, and then bam! I surprise them with Princess Spike. Just kidding, I would go with one of my favourites, depending on the taste of the person, of course. Does the person like adventure or slice of life? What type of character do they find more interesting? What is their ice cream of choice? Do they wear hats on mondays? What zodiac sign would they be if the had been borne three months and a week later? What is the result of zero minus -zero? Are we living in a heliocentric system, or a geocentric creation? As I said. It depends on the person.

One of my personal favourites is Winter wrap up, despite disliking musicals. I think it was the perfect time for me to find the show, so it was a combination of factors that created one of those memories that stays with you forever. Until you die, that is. At which point your brain matter starts to decay corrupting your memories into nothingness. But generally! I would tell them to start by the first episode like a normal person. What kind of freak doesn't start by the first episode?

Guess I’m that freak cause I started out in season 2. Whoops :P

If you like creepy things or find dystopias as fascinating as I do, The Cutie Map is a great first episode. I wonder what it would’ve been like if that was my first episode since I love that episode so much.
