Rarity Paige Belle 1,854 July 10, 2014 Share July 10, 2014 And are Ponyville and Canterlot in different ones? Beautiful, Stylish, Fabulous AND evil! What more could you want? (Thanks Kyoshi for letting everyone use your sigs!)
SparklingSwirls 21,601 July 10, 2014 Share July 10, 2014 I doubt it, but someone's probably going to analyze the time of day at different locations and stuff. I think Ponyville and Canterlot would be in the same time zone since they're right next to each other on the official map. 1 ֍֎֍֎

SparklingSwirls 21,601 July 10, 2014 Share July 10, 2014 Also, if you look at the map, it's implied that Equestria is the size of the USA. Not necessarily. If you look at Ponyville, you'll see that it's pretty big on the map. Either Ponyville is as big as a US state or Equestria is a lot smaller. I know it says "not drawn to scale", but that just makes it even more confusing 1 ֍֎֍֎
Pastel 7,630 July 10, 2014 Share July 10, 2014 I even wonder if there's the time. Maybe there's just DAY and NIGHT since Celestia/Luna raises the sun/moon.
11th Doctor Whooves 794 July 10, 2014 Share July 10, 2014 I don't think Equestria would have time zones, since it wouldn't make much sense to have a 3PM in the middle of the night somewhere. I'm guessing that, much like us, they have a 24 hour clock, and most likely, the sun raises and sets at around the same time everyday, without anything like Daylight savings time. Invincible 2,092 July 11, 2014 Share July 11, 2014 It'd be funny if Equestria was actually a flat plane instead of a sphere. It'd make sense not having timezones then, since the princess raises the sun every morning. 1 My OCs for Roleplay purposes: o Lit Fuse (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lit-fuse-r6608) o Dust Devil (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/dust-devil-r7357)
ggg-2 3,555 July 11, 2014 Share July 11, 2014 ....wouldn't they need clocks first? Don't be a nerd. Join the herd!
Fhaolan 4,494 July 11, 2014 Share July 11, 2014 There's a lot of little things that try to imply that the world they're on is round, diagrams and the like in various classrooms and labs, but no conclusive 'proof'. So we can't really tell. However, it's likely Canterlot is in the same time-zone as Ponyville, because in several establishing shots you can actually see what appears to be Canterlot's mountain and some of it's buildings from Ponyville itself. Unless somepony has built a replica castle nearby? Filthy Rich, perhaps...
Shanks 10,817 July 11, 2014 Share July 11, 2014 There is no definitive evidence that there are but I could see it quite plausible as many of Equestrias locations are based on actualy locations on earth. Rarity Get's Cockroaches
sweetolebob18 728 July 2, 2015 Share July 2, 2015 Historically, it used to be that every town had its own time. It wasn't until the 18th & 19th centuries that navies started keeping track of time from a standard place & comparing that to local time to calculate longitude (problem was to have a clock that could be accurate on ships. That wasn't solved till about the start of the 19th century). On land, it was the railroads that lead the struggle because they travelled far enough & fast enough that having a standard railroad time was useful for schedules. EQ has railroads & some journeys are long enough to take hours. IMO, EQ has time zones.
